Here, you can use this method :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44648531&postcount=1
If rooting succeeds, you can partition your SD Card and use Link2SD to link the apps to SD card. With this method you can still use services/widgets.

[Q] Create 2nd partition on Xperia S, is it possible?

I want to create a second partition on my Xperia S in order to use Link2sd. Most of the help I can find are about using Minitool partition wizard. But Minitool does not work for me for some unknown reason. It just can not find the Xperia S.
Has anybody experience about that? Could you please tell how you did? I have rooted my phone but the bootloader is still locked.
i think we dont need to use the link2sd cause we have already a big size of storage. link2sd is useful when u have a external sdcard and your phone internal memory is @ small size, like my coby tablet it was only 8G then i bought a 16G external sdcard then i used link2sd. .

Thanks for your reply.
My thought was to increase the amount of free RAM which is often very limited on Xperia S although the internal memory is enough (we don't even have the option to install en external SD). I think that Link2sd could reduce the occupied volume in RAM, but I could also have misunderstand it.
Best regards

Link2sd will not help. Empty RAM is wasted RAM.

I am new on this, it is very possible that I got it all wrong.
As what I understand, the Xperia S has a limited volume of the internal memory reserved for installation of apps although the total volume of the flash memory in the phone is much larger. In that case it sould be a great help if there is a way to move more effectively away the apps/programs from the reserved volume to the flash memory. I suppose that is what the Link2sd should do.
Talking about the wasted RAM, I guess there is space for discussions here. As I said above, I am new in this area and it is best that I don't say too much stupid staff. But I have never heard people say that the money which are not used are wasted money.

You have 2GB for apps, and all game data is still stored on the virtual sdcard. I can run about 200 apps with no issues. About RAM: you shouldn't bother about free RAM, all RAM is used for your apps and it'll be freed in under .5 seconds when it's needed.

??????????????????
By using an application that use the mass storage mode I can see the partition in Minitool.
Is there any risk to brick the phone if change the partition size of the emulated sd card ?

I want to know if it is possible to divide without brick. Some applications use the spacer of a large internal memory.
I have an Xperia P but it only comes with 2GB of space to install apps and games
link2sd doesn't work here because this phone lack of MicroSd
I have seen that for xperia s/t made a mod that makes a larger partition for apps
and I really wish to know how to have more space for installing apps on this Xperia P (Locked Bootloader)
I've tried Minitool Partition but only corrupts the memory (link2sd doesn't recognize 2nd partition) and ask for a format on the phone, also with CWM partition option
anybody can help me with this ?

Karbonn A7 Plus's only drawback.Please solve.

Respected reader,(maybe answerer )
I have a Karbonn A7 Plus Mobile Smartphone and it is extremely good.It provides features which are available on devices double the cost.I am good with it but for one thing,it has only 157 MB of internal memory.I also have a standard 4 32 GB MicroSD card fitted into it.The internal space of my device is fully filled up and now I can't install more apps even on my 32 GB MicroSD Card.I have to keep deleting apps which are less important and constantly keep cleaning cache. Now I have come to a condition that all my apps are important and I also can't also delete one app.I have heard of Memory swapping method but it requires root.So I am planning to root my phone and get super users access. So I don't know how to do that. Please tell me.But I don't know if the method is safe and what are its disadvantages.I also fear that if after rooting my system will degrade from android 2.3 to any older version. So anyone please tell me if it is safe. And the next thing,I want to swap external SD cards memory and convert it into internal memory.I know that we have to change the vold.fstab file.I have searched for the modified file for Karbonn A7 Plus but got no results. Please anyone send me the modification .Anyone Please help me. I really will be grateful to him whoever helps.

[Q] Need help with 2 INTERNAL partition tablet??!?!

Ok.... hi 2 all in first place.
My problem: I have an terorist tablet,no name no brand no nothing, chinesse stuff (a70h name of tablet)
After hard try , i successe to get root it but i observe it has 2 internal partition 1=500mg ...2=1GB bouth are internal nota bene.If i put my sd card in ,i get 3 partition ( 2 internal and one my real sd card) In this point it start the problems, when i try to move an app like facebook let"s say form internal(500mb) to External to get free space... it move to 2 partition (1GB ) not on my REAL sd card partition (4gb). so i dont get any space because after 10 aplication instaled my memory say full uninstall apps to get space etc bla bla . An my real card is stil empty no app transfer on it.
My question : Anyone cand tell me an good app name that can move the apps form internal to REAL external to get space???Because i dont find anything for tablets, in my phone i use many a2sd scripts ,customs roms etc and is ok but my tablet rom dont support scripts (i thnik... no clue about it)
So pls help me to solve my problem, i apreciate any help and excuse my engl.
If i post in wrong section pls sorry...im new here , i just try to figure how forum works .
Anyone ?? ????

Lenovo A7000 few questions

Hello everybody!
Iam pretty new to android, so please dont judge me too hard for newbie questions, thanks!
Question1:
Why is my lenovo memory distributed into 3 parts instead of two (I was expecting that it will be just internal memory (8GB) and SD card, but i see there Internal, Sd card and "external sd card"). What is that?
Question2:
I would like to install new apps, i have a lot of space on the sd card, but still, i cant install and lenovo is telling to me, that i dont have enough space in my phone ... what???
Question3:
I am tired of tons of bloatware therefore i would like to root my phone, but iam concerned about my warranty. So if i will root my device, is it possible to unroot (restore?) so if i will go use my warranty the dont find out it was rooten?
Thats all for now,
Thanks a lot
Jan

Mate how did manage to install cwn im not finding one
Hey mate how u going at making a rom?
There is a much easier way now.. You can convert the portable storage SDcard to an adoptable sdcard which merges with the system. Now originally converted the portable storage to adoptable thinking it would move more apps to the sdcard and leave more free space. But it in reality did not do much more than manually moving the apps to the sdcard. So I ended up with 1GB or so of free internal memory.. But all the memory free and how much memory was present was screwed up because it says I have like 64gb memory when I only have 16gb and 32gb so total 48gb.. And it only showed the free memory of either the internal or the sdcard. And no google program allowed me to move it to the sdcard.. So all that work and having to reinstall everything and add in the accounts and such were rather useless.. Other than to see that samsung does have the option to format something as portable or adoptable.. Using the ADB shell ofcourse..
here you can add part of the sdcard to the adoptable memory and the rest as regular sdcard memory.. Rather pointless actually other than the adoptable memory is encrypted and unreadable on the pc using a card reader..
Using the ADB shell in the command within a windows command window.. I use TCC which is a replacement command.com for windows from long ago and works like the unix shell.. Microsoft has changed the command.com to cmd.com now and you can bring it up by typing CMD into the search programs and files window.
Type sm list-disks and record the disk IDs that come up like disk:179,64
use the format sm partition DISK:TYPE:RATIO to change the type...
Enter the disk ID where it says DISK, TYPE is either ‘private’ to adopt the entire microSD card or ‘mixed’ to use a portion of it. RATIO is only used if you select mixed. So a command would be something like: ‘sm partition disk:182:160 private’ to adopt the entire storage. Or ‘sm partition disk:182:160 mixed 50’ to adopt 50% of the microSD card.
sm partition disk:179,64 private
sm partition disk:179:64 mixed 50
also the command adb shell pm set-install-location 2
Which is supposed to set the location of the downloaded installs to the sdcard.. Which also does not really do much..
Now the command to turn that portable sdcard to adoptable..
adb shell sm set-force-adoptable true
would format the sdcard as adoptable.. Supposed to let you format it from the control panel and let you select portable or adoptable etc but not so.. You only get the option to format is as portable..
But internally it does have the option even if you normally cant get to it..
Well samsung pushed a new update from oct 18th and I got it a few days ago.. It was available for many months in like new zealand for some reason.. The oct update is named T355YDOU1BPJ1.. Since the last update was only a month before I was surprised as once its past an year samsung dont really care about such things.. so 2 updates in 3 months is kind of a shock..
Well anyway the update was like 440mb in size or the full mage is like 1.5gb.. It took over 15 minutes for it to re flash all the system files and over an hour to play with the apps.. so fully charge the device first..
I had the pixel launcher and it kept on crashing.. So went back to google now launcher which seemed stable.. And the tab was extremely slow to do anything.. For most things this is a rather fast tab even if the cpu is lame and slow at 1.2ghz only.. But for normal use it is fast for most things.. Sure wished I could go back.. I had it running for more than 2 days on a single charge by now.. Not really using it heavily but from a day it going to over 2 days is nice.. It gives almost 7-8 hours or playing or watching movies otherwise anyway.. Now the CPU was stuck above 50% and rebooting and all that after all the work was depressing..
But anyway now it is stable.. no reboots and speed seems to have come back to normal..
Now why would I post all this here.. Well that is because I just went and checked the free memory.. and WOW.. 3.5GB..... So it was migrating data off the internal memory to the adoptable sdcard memory before when it was acting up.. Yes that is an option now that shows up when you go to th storage internal memory option and once you use that ADB command to change it from portable to adoptable.. And it has given me an extra 2.5Gb of free memory.. How I dont know.. google still dont allow you to move their stuff to sdcard. Neither does microsoft and some others..
I suppose this new update actually moves the data part of those apps that does allow you to move them to sdcard to really move it to the sdcard like adoptable storage..
Well I dont know if this update also does the same thing with portable memory.. But before the data still stayed mostly in the internal memory even if the app could be moved to the sdcard.. OR the data was still in internal memory even after you moved it to the sdcard and there was a bug which never deleted the data from the android secure storage area and still took up space..
Apps like whatsapp wont let you move it to the sdcard now.. It could be moved before but the widgets would not work..
So those looking for debloated roms and such.. this might be a quick fix.. You can download the firmware yourself and use odin to flash it if you did not get the OTA.. I dont feel like voiding the warrenty on something that works so well.. Rooting and such is a real pain unless you want to spend a lot of time playing with things. But rooting and using titanium backup also lets you delete old system apps and replace it with new updates in the system partition and not use up valuable internal memory area.. Or it allows you to get rid of it entirely.. Just the Microsoft stuff takes up like a gb of space and they are useless apps all tied to online and their account and such. I suppose I am preparing myself for when the warranty runs out to root and get another 2gb of free space or so. by getting rid of the useless bloated apps but until then the 3.5gb of free internal memory will suffice. The sdcard has disappeared now from lock screen security and encrypt sd card says no sdcard present. and the entire memory is now encrypted.
https://samsung-firmware.org/all/
ps..my wife has a tab4 with a 64gb sdcard and even though it gives 2gb of free space out of the 8gb internal memory.. The facial recognization stay awake keeps storing useless pics and filling up the space even when the function is not used.. So every week have to delete 10,000 files to make space as it keeps saying no memory.. So samsung does not always fix bugs.. even though they pushed a security update earlier in the year for a 3 year old device.. it is like the little brother to this one and actually works much better if they fixed all the problems as this one is too big to carry around all day.. But this one is great when looking at maps travelling.
