Hey im looking to root my softwinerevb tablet on android software 4.1
I heard it comes rooted but i used a rooter checker app and it says it isnt rooted.
I have tried rooting it with Oneclick, uberizer and srsroot and they all said rooting was successful but again i check with the app and it says its not rooted.
I have installedsuperuser and tried to update the binary but it just says getting root access failed.
Can anyone help me out with this?
Many thanks

dude be more specific
Its common for OTAs to remove root access. Sometimes root can be preserved using OTA Rootkeeper, but it would have to be installed before installing the OTA. Check in the forums for your phone to see how to root it. Its also possible the OTA patched the root exploit that you used before.

You'd better find the appropriate forum on XDA for the phone and try to revert to a pre-OTA version. How did you verify that you've lost root, have you tried a terminal emulator and SU into root to verify?
More details will probably be most helpful
I have lg marqee, got update from sprint that took away root

I followed this guide to root my GS3
http: //theunlockr.com/2012/05/26/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s3-smartphone/
Although when i use root checker, it says its not rooted and when i downloaded superuser, it says no apps in list. Does this means im not rooted ?
Root using CF-root in development section.
Easiest way.

How did you confirm that it didn't work? Device status "Modified" after using ExynosAbuse usually means it worked. I would try to install Titanium backup (Tibu) or some other program that requires root and if it works then you know you have root.
If you have root use Tibu to freeze SDM 1.0 to keep the update from happening if you want to use the first developer created method to unlock your boot loader so that you can flash ROMs. You can use the later new method to unlock the boot loader if you accept the update.
I have titanium back up but it says I dont have root access... basically what im wanting to know is, is it okay it try another root method even though it says my device is modified...

Doesn't DooMLord's XTZ Easy Rooting Toolkit work?

Worked fine for me.
If all you want is whatsapp, I don't think you need to root your device. However, doomlord's rooting kit works with locked and unlocked bootloader.
everyone will tell you to use search, solution for your "issue" are easy to find. Read a little the stickies.
No need to root for installing an app, if you have the apk you have to check unknown source in security setting to install, if it's play store then you have nothing to do.
For the rooting script to work check android debug in dev options (don't ask how to enable dev options!)

(At your own risk) you can try universal tool like this one: http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidroot/
A user of another GoTab device managed to root with this script.
You can also use Framaroot or vRoot for instance.

Why do you have SuperUser if you never had root access? Did you check /system/xbin/ or /system/bin to see if you have the "su" binary?
What does Root Checker app say?

So I don't think you are rooted... Installing SuperSU from Google Play doesn't install the SU binary. It's only the app to manage root permissions.
