Spotify only let's me sync 3,333 songs to my phone. I have a 64gb micro sd card and I'm only able to use under a third of it for my music.
I'm thinking of going back to Google Play Music All Access. But I know you can only pin to internal storage. Is there a way I can set my phone up to look at internal as 16gb+64gb to show up as 80gb internal storage? I imagine I would have to be rooted as well.
I'm using an AT&T LG Optimus G E970.
Any help is appreciated.

There is also directory bind and folder mount that you might search for. I haven't used any of them so not sure if they would work for you.
That is only known to work on stock ics. I made it and never tested on aosp or stock jb.
It would require changing the directory in the script.

I apologise if this a nooby question but I've searched and can't find anything. Is it possible to store the apps on the 16gb usb storage instead of device storage. I don't have a memory card cos i think the 16gb will be ample big enough.
Cheers

What do you mean? All your apps go on a different partition which is 2gb in size. I hope you are not talking about using apps2sd...

Oh rite thanks for clearing it up. Just on my old phone (n97) the device storage was different to the usb storage. If i use up more of the device will the phone run slower? Sorry for the questions just want to try and get the best out of the phone, thanks : )

well, the addiional 11GB of the internal memory is also mounted as "sdcard" (while the actual SD card looks like a standar folder on this partition called "external_sd"), but you won't be able to use it for applications via apps2sd... at least my stock rom doesn't allow this, that works only with the actual SD card.
Either way, the primary 2GB offers plenty of room except if you want to install the whole android market on it.
When I tried to install NavFree I got an error Not enough space.
Apparently this is what our sd card is labeled.
Is there a way to force apps to use this rather than our internal 16GB?

It's called sdcard2 ext sd is just a listed path for apps etc.

I would like a force option as well since its not integrated in all apps.

Been looking around online.
Seems we will need a custom ROM for this option to actually put apps on our sd cards.
This internal storage only is a ''feature'' of manufacturer's.

It is so confusing.especiallycause I put in the card from my 3d

I would love to be able to mount the external SD card at /data/media and mount /data/media to the Sdcard2 spot. This would give us the option to have 32GB for app data for gameloft games...etc
The OP is right. Inside apps like Titanium Backup and Root Explorer it is shown as ext_sdcard or "external sd card"
The thought here, which only a few games actually do unfortunately, was that Game developers made their games to ask where you wanted the extra data installed too. I have only found a couple games actually do this (for ex Reckless Racing). kindof like the absence of menu being replaced by the action bar. Developers have to adapt to this.

Anybody been able to get Doubletwist to use the removable SD card? I have a lot of music and a 32 gig card so it would be nice if my favorite player would see my storage media. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what to tell you, dude. Maybe try going to settings, applications, and clear cache for Double Twist and also for Media Storage.

Just installed doubletwist and put in my 32gb sd, found all the music automagically. Only thing I can think of is your card needs to be formatted. Fat32 I believe, not sure because mine worked however it was already formatted.
It's weird because titanium sees it fine. So does root Explorer. I'll try format and re transfer my media.

Ok clearing the cache and data for Doubletwist and media storage worked. Now to test air sync.

Ok so doubletwist will see the music on the sd card, but the pc client won't sync to the removable sd card this is either through usb or air sync. It sees the phone, and will sync to the internal storage, but i can't tell it to use the removable storage. I'm thinking it has something to do with not being able to mount the SD card as mass storage, which i read somewhere on here is not happening with the LGOG. Any thoughts?
Hello,
I also have issues with my external sd card and double twist (but also with other media files eg photos).
Yesterday I synced 14,11GB of music to my external sd card. I was able to play all of the music for a few hours, then over 10 GB "disappeared" or are not recognized / categorized as music anymore. All I can see via double twist, es file explorer and the phone memory (under settings) are 3,67 GB of music and 12,72 GB of "other". Via es file explorer I can also only see 3,67 GB in the actual double twist music folder on the sd card. When I send my pictures directly to the sd card they also disappear after a while, which is quite annoying... I am not sure if this is the notorious kitkat issue, but is there a solution to fix this that works? I tried nextapp sdfix and changing platform.xml as suggested in various other posts by adding: <group gid="media_rw" />
Unfortunately, none of these "fixes" worked for me. Is there a solution to this yet, besides buying a windows phone or an iphone...
Thanks for your help!
basic and i feel dumb, but I stuck an sdcard in my razr and can'ft seem to figure out how to make aps store. stuff there. Like camera, for example. and how would I store music there instead og the internal? stuff like that.
On phone is called SD.. or actual SD card is called sd-ext I believe..

You could store a lot of music on there if you didn't want to use Google Music.
You could move all your big apps to your Sdcard-ext with the application info in settings.
You could root your phone, make a backup of all your apps and store them in the external storage.

I love my Z2. I bought the LG G3 and S5 at the same time and sold my G3 and gave my son the S5. I was a dyed in the wool Samsung fan until they quit making international models that worked on AT&T with FM radios. I listen to talk radio all day on my Z2 without using any data and with little battery drain.
I have rooted the Z2 and installed the exposed framework, but am not able to move apps to the SD card like I can with my Note 2 and S5. The Z2 only comes with 16GB of storage internally. I cannot believe that there isn't a way to store apps and their data on the SD card. I know that with KitKat Google has been limiting what can be done with the SD cards ( very idiotic).
Any ideas?

Yes use the 'kitkat SD card full access' xposed module and folder mount to sort it out

That module does not allow one to move an app to the SD Card. Thanks anyway.

But this module allows any app to write to SD Card. Then you can use folder mount to mount apps and its data to sd card.
