Peeps.
Just installed my first ROM and its missing the stock music and media player.
How do I get them back? I have checked Google play but no such luck. I did delete all the unwanted Google apps like Google+ and Google music store and movie store. Are the APs linked to these the stock files.
Cheers in advanced .

Couldn't find the Sony walkman app in Google Play. Maybe specific to Sony devices only.

came across this while reading Google current article. its jellybean version of playstore. For me, everything is alot better in this one. everything loads almost instantly. alot more optimized IMO. this is the latest version. I already installed and its running fine.
there's new content in this one. like magazines, TV shows, movies, etc.. you will notice the difference once you install this. still amazed how fast everything loads up in this version.
I wasn't sure if this was allowed or not. If not, mods can immediately delete it. its just the new jellybean playstore version that was extracted from JB rom.
Is this just for the US? I have installed this but makes no difference here in the UK.
thanks man
jellybean
i read jelly bean is going to have encrypted apps, think im gonna stay with ICS!

I heard THST also. but I think that only applies for trying to sideload paid apps. I believe you can still sign onto playstore on a new device and install the apps like that. you know you have like a history section that shows all your apps you ever installed or paid from there. then you can just reinstall into new device from there.
they are trying to cut down on piracy so i see the reason why they would encrypt the app to be specific to that psrticualr device once downloaded. it doesn't stop you from entering in your same info on a new device and downloading it again, from the playstore, onto the new device.
The marketplace loads much faster now, thanks!
Thanks!

this is probably a dum? but how do i install this? it says its an APK but when i download it its a zip and it doesnt flash in recovery or install like an APK
edit-nevermind i got it, just renamed to APK and all is good. thanks
I expect this version to be rolled out to all other Android devices. My phone is still on the current version of the Play Store that doesn't have magazines, etc. When I launch the Play Store on it, there is an advertisement to own Pixar movies starting at $10, even though you need the newest version of the Play Store to buy movies. You can also download a Play Magazines app from the current Play Store in preparation for when the new Play Store app rolls out you can buy magazines (or you can subscribe to them online).
Interesting.... thanks for sharing.
Works great! I Thank you.
no problem. still amazed how much better this version is than previous one. this playstire loads everything nearly instant now.
Yes, it's crazy how fast it is compared to the ICS one we previously had.
Sorry for beating a dead horse here, but does the system still lag when installing apps, has that been sorted or is it still more or less the same?
Amazing, Thanks!
Hi,
Is there an European version available? I installed this one and now it does not download apps from the store.
Thanks in advance

it just doesnt make sense... how could that effect a app like that?
Removing something like Sense which is pretty much built into the rom OS can affect things like this. Not saying this is the cause, but if you haven't done anything else to the rom, it's likely the problem.

no thats not true at all... sense isnt the OS its the launcher...i and i used the Rom Cleaner txt file it lets you know what you can and cannot remove...and the widget still works but it wont let me go in the actual app.
I noticed this the other day. My widget didn't work and the app force closed. I restored a backup, I'll host the apk and link it here

You're talking about Google Play Music right? For any FC my first fix is wiping data for that app. Removing Sense has nothing to do with that app. If you're talking about the default HTC sense music player, the only thing that would be affected when removing Sense is you'll have no widget.
Yes Google Music and I did that and the normal Music works fine but widget like you said...I really need my Google Music

Strange. Usually any app FC I get it cured by a data wipe of that app. My only other suggestion would be wipe data and uninstall Play Music, fresh install your ROM and setup how you want it and then install Play Music. I know that's kind of a long process, but I see your doing some ROM development so your probably used to it now.
Yeah I mean I been doing that actually full wipes and testing everything and this is the only problem I can't fix.
Also the updated YouTube app does the same thing instant FC.

On nook color I added android on top of stock Rom because I wanted the kids reading book functionality. Is there something similar for the tablet?
Yes. You can root and add any launcher that works with Gingerbread. I know the update.zip I posted in the development section includes homecatcher, which will ask you what you want to launch, stock launcher or another, when you press the n key twice. It's the same update zip that is posted elsewhere too, I just couldn't find it when I was looking last night.

Technically you can make it work on any from. You just need to get the apps from the apps and themes section. Also if its just the nook reading app you want, you can still download it from the market, and you can also get books from Google too, I've testing it on 4.x Roms and up, and it works really well.

I think he's talking about the feature that reads along which I think is stock only and doesn't work in the Play Store app.

Go into the themes and apps section, and its all the apps ripped directly from the original nook tablet OS.
There's a few apps such as the S Note, S Calendar, My Diary and a few others that i've become accustom to. Is there anyway to get these back?

If you're talking about the gapps(google apps) Like play store etc. as well, there's a gapps zip for download. Otherwise S note, S Calendar are part of Touchwiz since CM9 doesn't have touch wiz it isn't incorporated into it/ you can't get it. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Those are touchwiz apps so they can only be used on UCLF6 and stock roms

Hey thanks, ya i installed the gapps. These are Samsung apps. I swear i saw somewhere that you can install the permissions for touchwiz and then are able to install the Samsung Apps store and get most of these programs.
I can't be the only one with this problem. Every time I use Google Music I have to clear data to get music to work regardless of streaming or off the sd card. Anyone have a fix or idea what's going on? I use Google Music a lot and would like to use it on jelly bean

Jelly bean is "not" really designed to work with the rezzy "officially". The jb roms are a W.I.P, expect issues. Devices may have issues and others may not.
Have you tried a different rom? If it does or does not do it on a different rom then you have your anwser(s).

I've tested it on Infection and so far it works just fine. I'll keep you posted as I just installed that rom. I did however install Google music from the play store instead of restore it from TiBackup.

Did you install the beats audio driver (if your rom has it baked in)? After installing beats and rebooting/clearing cache & data for the google music app, it worked great for me and the problems that you described seemed to go away, music plays almost instantly now for me, both streaming and from the SD card, might be worth trying if you haven't already. I've only tested this on the Infection rom so I can't say if this will apply to others.

I've had this happen on every JB ROM i've tried (though, granted, Play Music isn't my regular music app, so I don't always use it).

I do install the Beats drivers, so that could be the connection.
