hello guys i have a problem updated to 1.7.2 through rom manager and i got a bootloop on cyanogen logo any advice to solve this?
Did you data-wipe
Sent from my GT-I5500 using Tapatalk
go to dwnld mode flash cwm again when the phone boots into recovery flash the latest version of cm7 and be sure to wipe the data, cache and dalvik cache ) download the latest cm7 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149110
Reboot into recovery, data wipe, clear cache and dalvik cache. Should work fine after that.
do what the others said above ........ if problem still persists, check if you have an old or worn out SIM card....... my friend had a galaxy mini with a worn out mtnl SIM. he faced the same problems as you....... as of the bootloop, can you describe it in detail? there are a few types of bootloops ........ one in which the bootanimation ends abruptly and starts again, one in which the bootanimation ends abruptly and the whole phone reboots (starting all the way from SAMSUNG, ANDROID, etc.). So try all the things mentioned above, and if none of them work, describe the bootloop type.
hope i helped
I am facing a kind of similar problem. I have two sim cards-Airtel and MTNL. I am using the CM7 v1.7.2. The phone works absolutely fine with Airtel sim card, but when I insert the MTNL sim card, the phone boots up till the home screen, and within 2-3 seconds, it reboots itself. This keeps on happening continuously, so I can't use that sim card with the phone. I have tried flashing , re-flashing, data wipe, etc but in vain. Any solution guys?

Unfortunately for you, there is no solution as of now. Try posting your problems on the cyanogenmod developer thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149110), see if they can help you out.

After doing so the phone gives the startup of Samung www.samsungmobile.com then the word ANDROID comes up off centre then loops back to the Samsung www.samsungmobile.com screen.
any ideas?

Hello,
Am I the only one with a boot-loop problem after the .14 update download and install ?
Since then, my tablet has been into a boot loop, and none of the methods found to find in the forums worked sor far.
1) Tried pinhole reset
2) Tried recovery data swipe
3) Tried the "EP201_SDUPDATE.zip" method. It just goes to a screen with a blue diamond in the droid. Then after 20 seconds, the droid is on the floor with a "!" red symbol. After 30 seconds, the device goes back to boot-loop ...
Nothing worked. I tried to root it via adb but somehow I can't install the drivers on my computer, my computer doesn't even see the device via USB since it's stuck in the boot loop.
Did someone had this kind of problem earlier ? I did nothing special, the device is not rooted, nothing ... and had 0 problem with .11 firmware, worked perfectly ...
Thanks for any advice you could have !
I'm having a similar issue since the 14 update. My TP was perfect until last night when the 14 update arrived; but has been suddenly re-booting and getting frozen on the reboot screen since. However, pinhole restart did work, at least temporarily. I'm tempted to try rolling back the firmware.
Likewise, my device is not rooted or altered in any way.
Can't believe they have rolled out a firmware upgrade that actually corrupts a fully functional device! Who are these jokers?
Will update if I find a solution; please do likewise!
I am experiencing the exact same issue since yesterday and so desperate about it since I had no problems at all before. .
So frustrating.
Some more info I found :
During the night I let my device on, rebooting etc ...
I've noticed yesterday it wasn't really a boot loop because sometimes it'd go to the screen with a grey asus logo and a spinner, sometimes it was even going to the screen where the system updates and tries to optimize applications. Each time I went to this screen, it was updating a couple apps then crashing and going back to boot.
So, I figured out that maybe if it was on all night, it owuld update all apps, and boot eventually ...
This morning, the screen was off ... pushed the power button and OH ! I was on the "First start" screen, where I had to choose my keyboard language. Did it, then chose wifi and .... back to boot !
So, it's not technically a boot loop, it's a MASSIVE reboot defect, the .14 firmware totally killed it, the OS doesn't have time to boot, it crashes before ? How can it be ?
I think I'm good for RMA, will try to contact ASUS also ...
Again, same problem for me .
Except the application optimization was made yesterday (not as it should be, I had one reboot after 1/87 applications optimized then the whole optimization).
Since then, sometimes (once in a blue moon), the tablet reboot completely as yours, and then after a few seconds/minutes "playing" on it, it reboots itself.
Etc...

I think our only hope is to recover it using the EP201_SDUPDATE.zip and be lucky enough for the tablet not to reboot during the recovery ... but it might take a lot of tries and it's boring to do ...
I think so. But is it possible to do so without root-access ? What does this method consist of exactly ? Where does this file come from ?
I downloaded the .11 update zip archive from Asus support, isn't it the same ?

From what I read root is not required
Yes, it's the good file. Unzip it, inside there will be another zip file.
Rename this : EP201_SDUPDATE.zip
Put it in the root of a microSD card and then put the microSD in the Prime.
Once you've done that, reboot the prime (anyway yours will reboot quickly lol) by holding power and Volume Down button at the same time. Hold it until the first screen of boot comes up and until text appears on the top left.
As soon as you see the text, release everything, then press Volume UP.
It'll say "Booting recovery kernel image" "Signature Match".
If the tablet doesn't reboot before actually starting the recovery, you'll go to a screen with a droid with a blue diamond and then a "dead droid" with a "!" red symbol. I never passed this step as my device reboots before the end of the recovery ...
Good luck
I'm going to try that .
Have you seen testimonials of successful attempts ?
I mean, is it a valid method ?
---------- Post added at 02:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:09 PM ----------
What should I do when I see the dead droid with the exclamation mark ? Wait ?
---------- Post added at 02:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 PM ----------
Again, I don't think it's possible without root-access
---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:19 PM ----------
Damn, after a few seconds/minutes,it's rebooting again and stuck at Eee pad logo again

I think the problem we're having is that our tablet randomly reboots during the process ...
Yes and no.
As I thought, elsewhere in the post (I already read partially), they said you must have a root-access. Maybe (and I think) the tablet will be unrooted again after that but I'm p***ed off with the idea to root my tablet for a problem I am not responsible for...

They're talking about two different things I think, one thing is to flash the firmware with command line, this requires root of course.
Just wondering if anyone experiencing these reboots has captured a logcat? Seems to be a good first step in figuring out the problem.

Maybe, it's not clear out there. And I'm not sure to understand anything anymore.
Perhaps you should ask them to confirm this method doesn't need a root access.

I'd love to, but I'm unable to get adb access to the prime, it reboots before my computer can even install the drivers
Ok so, once plugged with USB to my computer, and when finally the device wants to boot and stays on the "android configuration screen", windows is able to access the TF201 folder system ... but not luck with ADB, I guess that's because the debug option is not activated on the device and I can't pass the first configuration screen, it always reboots before the end of it
Another update : using the EP201_SDUPDATE.zip method, I was able to install the US .14 firmware, but result is the same, reboots like crazy.
I'm currently trying to get the .11 US firmware to try to downgrade, but it's hard to find, asus removed all the older US firmwares from their servers, god knows why
EDIT : found the 11.1 firmware, doesn't work ... I'm stuck with .14 firmware

Hi. just a moment ago, while charging my phone. it works pretty fine. ( still playing my Sims freeplay ). after awhile, my phone could no longer boot. ( before it was hanged with my LED blinking ). it has turned to a full brick. i had no idea whats wrong. it was working fine a moment ago. i read online and it says it could possible be a hard brick. anyone could help me with this?
Is your phone rooted? What have you done thus far to try and boot it up again?
First things first: Pull the battery, put it back in, try and boot. If you still have nothing, try charging the phone - do you get the standard charging screen up? If you do, then let it charge for five minutes before trying again.
If you don't get the standard charging screen, I'm afraid the handset is likely to be broken. Others may have more ideas.
What have you altered that could of done this ?
ie. Have you changed the ROM,kernel, wiped anything just before this happened?
Sent from the man in Your attic.....
yes. before that. maybe 12 hours ago before i sleep, i flashed Omega rom V31 via CWM. and also did install some themes and kernel ( siyah kernel ). after that it was still working fine. until a moment ago.
Try taking battery out. Put it back and try to get recovery by pressing home, vol. Up, power together, if you could not get recovery from the menu. I'll see what happens when u post

Wondering if your kernel and ROM are mismatched. Do not know the ROM.it would save time if you could tell me. I'm CV tied up

I think if he can flash a firmware with odin doesn t matter what he had before. The phone just reflashes ando will bem ok. Theres not much to think about it. If not he assim a major problem, The boot isso damaged. Maybe with help of a jig he can restore it again.

Hi guys
I have done my basic research on all the forum room and can't find a answer to my problem.
I have Samsung S3 , I have not rooted or flash the device , I have not install any apps for the pass 2 months , for some reason today my device restarted and then got stuck on boot screen "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300" , am totally new to android and only had my device 9 months.
from all the basic searches I have done , I have try pressing vol key up + Home Key + power key) nothing happen
I tried : Switch off the device.
Press and hold Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key.
After 2-3 seconds, release the Power Key.
nothing happens here either this suppose to do a hard reset
I have taken the battery out , re-inserted the battery hold the power key for 10secs and I still don't get any where
each attemp I only get the boot screen the only luck I have had was by pressing the vol key down + home key + power key , i get the downloading Rom and this obviously does nothing as I can't get to the internet via wireless
please someone helpme the last person who posted this type of topic on this forum room did not get any replies.
I am sure I am not the only one who has experience this problem.
I am with three network if that makes any differents
thanks for your support.
Search 'sudden death' - you'll find more on it there
I has this problem with mine - I ended up taking it to Samsung for repair under warranty: it was a mother board replacement
it is however possible that you could fix it
Cn you get into download mode? (home + power + vol down)
if you can get to download mode ^^^ post above then all is well all you need to do is flash stock rom.
Getting into download mode is good news, Now plug your phone in to your computer, launch ODIN, and flash the correct stock firmware.
Thank you guys for your prompt reply , I have decided to take the device back to Car phone Warehouse as it is still under warrantee , I don't want to risk the manufacture guarantee. On this note I will like to salute all those geek's who have rooted their phones. :cyclops:

welcome in the emmc burned club - you are number ???
Flashing stock rom - chainfire tar - recovery tar - or whatever wont help you, i made a thread about it, no matter what you get "cant get pit" when you flash in odin
Sorry bR0 - seams like samsung made a MAJOR hardware error here - makes me thinking twice again before buying a sammy phone again, its a pitty cose it really is the nicest phone out there - maybe htc phones dont do this crap.. dont now
And since you haven't rooted or even flashed it, it proves just further that this is no "soft" problem but only faulty hardware !!!
Here is my link to tar files >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019902
And just so you now, flashing a rom DONT void your guarantee, in EU at least, its a proven court judgment ! > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998801
Urgent illegal advice required on 'sudden death'
Hi all /comrades
Four days ago I decided that I had to take Samsung Galaxy S3 to Carphone warehouse for repairs as the phone was still under manufacture warrantee , I did not wanted to go via the rooted / flashing my ROM . well guess what happen.
Carphone Warehouse Engineer total me the following and I quote " Please read notes , unfortunately handset returned unrepaired due to device rooted thought custom firmware, we have provided photo evidence. this is classed as Chargeable repair , please speak to one of the sales team to verify the cost of charge if you wish to take this ."
okay the photo screen that they gave me was of the one where you hold the volume button done + Home screen + power button and you get the Android stating its downloading on the top left side system status : custom and its this point he make out to me that I try to root or have rooted my phone.
as you all know I haven't got a clue on how to root or flash a phone never mind doing it.
I need your help , I am going to take Carphone Warehouse Ltd to Small courts to claim the cost of my phone and line rental back , How do I prove to the hight court that I actually did not root my device and Carphone Warehouse was trying to claim extra cash from me.
please all techie help me.

Hi guys i'm new around here i had this problem with my s2 for a while now and tried to solve it myself but i haven't done such a great job and now my phone won't even start. I'll try to explain it as detailed as i can so you can understand .
So i rooted my s2 first time 2 years ago with the help of my friend (i don't remember the version of the android) and had this weird problem after 1 year i couldn't download any other apps because my memory was always full , so i decided to try another root maybe the problem will solve , so i rooted my phone to 5.1.1. Lollipop and everything was great for a week . Then the real chaos begin phone started to shut down randomly even with 80%+ battery and couldn't start it only if charged it , if the battery was 100% i could use the phone for 10 maybe 15 minutes and then again it would shut down , I used the phone like that for a couple of months but then it would shut down even when was charging so i decided to solve the problem (my friend didn't wanted to help me anymore) and started to search around the forum and on google for any solutions i found that i can unroot my phone to the stock official firmwave searched in the list for my version of build number but my build number (I9100XXLPS) is not matching with my region , tried the version of my region everything went alright until the phone rebooted . Now the phone is stuck at start up loading image and reboots itself after a while and does the same thing . I tried finding the good version of build number (I9100XXLPS) but i can't find any source of download .
Tell me guys what i am doing wrong and if you got any ideas how i could fix my phone please help :crying: :crying: :crying:
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Try this guide if you haven't already:
[GUIDE][Troubleshoot a failed Odin flash]
Follow the guide carefully.
gsstudios
No worries, you must know from which region you have bought the Phone from so go to this link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9100/ then signup and enter the region and download the firmware. And follow the link given by gsstudios. If you specifically want i9100XXLPS then get it from below link.. which is old version of IceCreamSandwich
