I love my new VZW GS4, but the biggest thing I miss is Halo as found on some other ROMs that were available for my Galaxy Nexus.
It is way over my head to get it ported, but I know someone out there can do it. In an effort to entice them, I am starting a bounty thread for us to offer up donations to whomever can get it done!
I'll kick it off by offering $50USD for the first person that can provide a TouchWiz Halo-enabled ROM.
Donors:
EpicDraws - $50
Total Donations:
$50

isn't there a free app in the play store that does this now?

straight from the description of that app
"This is NOT Halo. There are no popups of full apps and nor will there ever be. If that is what you are after unfortunately you will not find it here."

Sorry, but you are not going to see Halo on TW based firmware.

Well, never say never. Let's put some money down and make it happen.

Good luck man, I don't think it'll happen though.

I do not think you have any clue how large the source code is for halo.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

There are some smart people out there, let's put some money down and make it happen. And yes, I'm familiar with smali.
Halo is big, but u know someone here can do it, especially if we have a good bounty.

I would like to use this picture with the words "stop trying to make halo on tw happen. It's not going to happen." I couldn't resist since I saw the opportunity to use this picture haha, not trying to be rude
prshosting.org

I, for one, won't give up on how great this community is. If people think it's not possible, then there's nothing to lose by putting some money up to encourage devs. Smali is rough, but in code, nothing is impossible. Who will match my $50?

The world was once flat, man could not fly, and Earth was also at the center of the universe. Many things seem impossible until they are done.
Has everyone here truly given up on the idea?

Why not add to the bounty if it's not possible then? No risk right?
Count me in for $20.

That's the right attitude! Can we get over $100? Let's keep this dream alive, and nothing to lose if it is indeed impossible.

Is there a bounty for the first Jelly Bean port yet?
Just in case anyone is having problems downloading, I'm hearing it's going rather slow and I had the code, so it's on Mediafire.

Nobody has done a bounty on the GNote before? Thats where someone creates a thread where people say they are going to donate $ to the first rom, and the op keeps track of everyones donation request and that bounty $ goes to the person or persons who makes the first port. Its just encouragement for the devs to get money and the community benefits from a cools rom. Something like that
The only reason why I mention it is because we have source for both.

Just for sh**s and giggles....

....... Despite with all the Android OS that have been developed in the past 4+ years with names dubbed completely out of this world like "Froyo" and currently developed "Ice Cream Sandwich" to a newly released "Jelly Bean". It makes me wonder HOW. THE. OR! WHERE. THE. HELL... does Google come up with these names????.... Let me get in to it - what's next huh?.... Gummy Bear!?... Fudge Brownie maybe?!... or Sour Patch?!... or perhaps Nut Cracker?!...
Who knows... haha... but I'd like to see what everyone's take on this... :silly:
Well it'll likely start with a k if they can considering going back to... The first I remember was cup cake. Then doughnut, eclair... It's just delicious typically dessert products but you should be able to see the trend of alpha order sweets I don't see it as too outlandish or confusing. I'd guess Krispy Kreme but pretty sure that's trademarked, and it's a doughnut which they've already done. I can't think of much k's sweets but I'm sure they'll come up with something. I'm not a sweets connoisseur

Screen recording?

So apparently we got screwed out of the Screen Recording feature ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j-oTLGPUEY ), there's an app on the market called "ScreenRecorder", I keep getting "Fatal Error!" has anyone been able to get it to work?
What is up with Verizon taking so many useful applications that came with the phone off it? Bet there was a problem with their bloatware and the apps. Even then keep the apps and fictions and lose the bloat!
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Wow wtf that seems really cool do you think CleanROM has this? Its based on the international version so it has things that Verizon removed

Just like call recording....it's still there we just have to figure out how to enable it. Probably a features tweak

Pretty sure i heard this feature was not released because of legal problems being that you could record netflix movies and stuff like that
If you read the youtube comments, NOBODY has it working on any stock rom. Not even international versions.

As I understand it this is actually very close to what Xposed does and that is amazing. Xposed is kick ass but quite frankly finding the plug ins can be a pain in the ass, I will gladly welcome another take on these type of apps.

Saurik introduced iphoneys to the world of customization, but that has been a focus of android since its inception. Hopefully some clever folks will take Saurik's app and do something cool with it. But as it stands, there isn't much to get excited about.

I think this will actually be good because there are some tweaks on cydia that I would like to see on android.
