So just an hour ago I got an OTA update for my LG L9 and of course installed it. It asked me to reboot and so I did, but it got stuck in the Clockworkmod recovery and when I try to reboot the phone it just boot loops in the recovery no matter what I do.
Tried wiping, formatting everything I possibly could, but still the same.
Also installed cm10.1.2, but it boots every time in the recovery after like 2-3 seconds after the LG logo appeared. The same was on the stock rom.
I was running the stock jb rom which was rooted and with cwm recovery installed.
Any ideas?

Normally, when in a Recovery Boot-Loop, you can boot into your ROM trying to Boot into Recovery.
That was my case and I think a lot of people's..
If that doesn't work, you could try this too:
Go to the Main Page of CWM Recovery
Select Reboot
Hold Volume - To cold Boot
You'll Boot into the ROM
After you do that.. open a new Terminal Window and write this:
Code:
$ su
$ echo boot | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=0
Then reboot.. Your ROM should work like a charm!
No, still reboots into the cwm recovery every time. Tried both.
PS Should I have the stock rom when I do this cause right now I have CM10.1.2 installed

I found something that may help you: How to fix Clockworkmod Recovery Boot-Loop Issue
How can I open the terminal if I cant boot into the rom?
Those are not working as well :/
Finally fixed it. Massive thanks to OperationNT

Ok so I searched the forums before this just to let you know.
I wasn't thinking and the wrong kernel got installed as the title says. So, I got into a bootloop (expected). It hits the fan after my next step :'(
I go to bootloader, then to recovery, start up TWRP, then screen goes blank and goes back to the htc bootscreen.
The odd thing is, it now has that disclaimer on the bottom for normal boot sequence.
I have attempted flashing other recoveries, erasing my cache, fastbooting roms, and fastbooting kernels. I assume my choices are limited with S-On since most of the fastboot commands return "remote:not allowed".
Do I have to wait for a RUU?
Thank you for your time in advance
UPDATE:
Finally got Clockworkmod to boot (after reflashing it at least 5 times), sideloaded a ROM, and presto it seems to be alive. Still have that disclaimer on the bootscreen, oh well :/
IF YOU FOUND THIS BY SEARCHING
1. Fast boot flash recovery "recovery file" (I used clockwork non touch)
2. Fast boot erase cache MUST!!!
3. Boot recovery
4. Sideload Rom via adb

Glad to hear you got it working again. Anytime you install a custom ROM though, you will see the disclaimer on the bootscreen. It isn't a big deal software wise though, it just looks ugly. I'd consider that a minor inconvenience for using a better ROM without the bloat.
So i have a prime that had ANDROWOOK 2.2 on it with TWRP 2.5. Tablet has been good but was time for Androwook 2.4 so i went to TWRP and tried to do a factory reset and it couldnt mount the SD card or system, so i rebooted back to Androwook and tried doing a factory reset and it would just reboot never reset. So i went back to Androwook and tried format each item to no luck, just kept saying cant mount sd or cant mount cache, or system, etc. I tried to boot back into Androwook and now it just boots right into TWRP. Tried holding down vol and hitting power but still just right to TWRP. I can go to install and it sees the zip file for androwook but alwasy fails. saying
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/blob". "staging")
E:Error executing updater binary in zip .........zip file
Error flashing zip ..... zip file
updating partition details...
E:Unable to mount '/cache
I can connect via ADB, I tried a ADB sideload but it failed too.
Any ideas, i would be happy just getting it to stock and starting over again, or whatever we can do

So i am able to get it to mount the System, TWRP thinks the system is the ext SD card. so i can run the zip file for the rom and it says its successful and when i reboot the system right back to TWRP, and it has erased the sd card.
Ok, so i was able to ADB in TWRP and say "reboot bootloader" i did this and was able to get the 3 icons in boot and i could select android and it booted into android. When i restart it it goes back to TWRP and i can ADB again and get to android. So i need to know how to just flash everything back to stock or another rom from android or can I? it seems my problem i flashed TWRP and it was not the modded one from androwook. I tried a modded one i found on the forum that was suppose to be for it, i used terminal to do it, and it said it worked but when i restart the same thing happens.

Bump this thread tomorrow mate as I am off out soon and I need you to try some things.
Do not go wiping anything as it looks like you can still get into android at the moment.
Ok Great, i did try terminal a blob file you had in one of your posts but didnt work.
So here is a recap of were i am at:
Tried to reflash the tablet because it was getting slow etc.
Got into a recovery bootloop. etc
So right now everytime i restart it goes to the asus logo and just will restart every 5 secs or so and come back with asus logo.
If i hold down vol down it will boot straight into recovery.
In recovery it will not mount ext drive. i was able to see it once and flashed the zip file i had and didnt work.
if i ADB and type adb restart bootloader, it will restart to the 3 icons of recovery, android, wipe data.
I can also do fastboot i believe.
I can then pick android and it boots up to my android will all my apps and data still there.
I tried to terminal the blob recovery you had posted an it said it worked, but when i restarted it went to the same asus logo over and over.
that is about where i am at now.
thanks
I know its early, but here is the Bump you requested.
THANKS AGAIN!

I haven't forgotten about you. I just had a new device and have been messing with it all day.
The problem with the mounting normally occurs when you flash an incompatible twrp onto the wrong bootloader.
Unfortunately your first post and some of your other info is all over the place.
Lets start by going into TWRP and typing adb reboot bootloader and tell me the version number up the top left of the screen.
It will start with a 10.
10.6.1.8-20130225. A03
Twrp. 2.5.0.0
Android build. Androwook prime hairy bean v2.2

I don't think I ever supplied a Twrp 2.5 until hairybean 2.31 so it looks like you flashed that yourself and flashed the wrong version.
First this I would try is flashing the twrp from the following link in fastboot and see if you can get a working version of twrp back on there that can mount properly.

Writing recovery
Okay 2.003s
Finished total time 4.931s
The tablet does nothing but stays on the 3 icon screen. It does lfreeze it and I have to hold the power down to restart .
Goes back to same recovery.
When I do it in terminal it says about the same.
When I reboot same thing back to recivery.

OK follow the steps but instead of flashing the stock firmware If lashed the recovery blob you had suggested early. And it worked. So now I can boot into the modified twrp. So now can I just flash your ROM?
I had to restart my phone for some reason and on restarting, the phone got stuck in a boot-loop ( Samsung galaxy S3 i9300 ) text logo. I thought I'd reboot into CWM (Philz touch) and wipe to make things better. But the phone won't boot into CWM either, it showed the soft navigation keys and rebooted again, and kept running in a bootloop of trying to get into the recovery and restarting again.
So I tried to ODIN the recovery just to refresh if something is broken. It didnt work. Odin was success but the boot into recovery wasn't. I tried several times but no luck.
Then I flashed TWRP using ODIN, and voilah! i could boot into TWRP . I flashed CWM using TWRP and voilah again, i could reboot into CWM again . After thatI had to flash the ROM again though.
I do not know why it happened, but I thought I'd share the details just in case someone tries to google it.

You have to remember what exactly you have done before rebooting. Some times it happened with me mainly changing boot screen, battery screen etc.
Hello
Today I've tried to unlock my bootloader of LG Optimus L9 (P760) and install a custom ROM. I managed to unlock the bootloader after a few hours (Windows 8.1 sucks in this and do it on Windows 7 netbook is even more harder) and install the CWM. Then I wanted to install CM11, but the installation failed. I didn't realize that I need special version of CWM for this.
Well, I wanted to enter fastboot again a flash CWM again, but I couldn't boot, because the system was now erased. I couldn't install stock ROM, because phone wouldn't connect, so I grabbed older CM9 and succesfully installed it through CWM.
Problem is, that even from there, I can't flash CWM (flash_image recovery recovery.img in terminal doesn't work - shows error "error scanning partitions failed with error -1" - yet another problem no one can solve). And also, phone won't connect to my PC properly, because there is no LG Software mode in CM. Because of that, I don't see the device in adb and can't reboot it into fastboot. I tried to do it via wi-fi adb, which however only reboots phone and doesn't put it into fastboot mode.
What should I do? I can't install stock ROM, which would help (LG update tool doesn't recognize phone now and any driver I tried for "LGE U2 Device" didn't work... If it was available as a rar installer for CWM, everything would be OK again), I can't reboot it into fastmode, I can't flash CWM in any other way and I'm stuck with CM9, which I hate.
I don't understand why there is no other way, how to get to fastboot. Every other LG Optimus has a key shortcut (vol -, power), except L models and that sucks... I'm completly desperate.

Fastboot on these devices is a pain... Make sure you have installed the fastboot drivers twice.
Try flashing the recovery.img with Flashify (root) app from the play store.

Thank you for your answer I got into fastboot afterall by using app named "Rebooter (fast reboot)". It allows to reboot phone and make it go immidiately to fastboot. So great, now I could rewrite the CWM and install ROM.
Unfortunately other problems appeared. I'm using the right version of CWM for installing KitKat Android ROMs (and I've tried others), but I'm still unsuccesful in booting them. Instalation goes OK (ROM + gapps), but booting then is pain in the ***. I can wipe dalvik, cache, system... and return the phone to factory settings through CWM as I want, but every ROM gets stuck everytime on the boot.
At first, it takes at least 15 minutes, until LG logo disappears and the animation of booting starts. I left all ROMs to boot for an hour. But it seems I'm without a chance. Did anybode have the same problem as me?
BTW: This is my 6th smartphone into which I installed alternative ROM. I swear, that this is the hardest piece of crap for installing those, I have ever seen
Edit: I tried other kernels, also without success. It's strange, that I can install only CM9 and PACman ROMs. CM11, Miui, Mokee - no chance

Nope. That was back when I had bad CWM installed. This one is however OK and install goes absolutely right. Right now I'm pretty sure, that problem isn't in kernel, cause I tried every I could find...

If I remember correctly I think the cwm for cm11 has a bug that doesn't wipe dalviks. So flash ROM with the cwm for cm11 then restore the other recovery to wipe data. Or use something like rm -rf /data/* through terminal adb and reboot.
Make sure you mount the data partition first if you use adb and terminal.

Hello.
So today, I was gonna install a new rom. So the first thing I did was to use the Clockworkmod recovery app on my phone to reboot in to recoverymode, now Im stuck in a weird bootloop where it tries to enter recoverymode but fails then goes back to the samsunglogo, restarts and tries recoverymode again, and it just keeps restarting trying to get in to recoverymode.
I have tried installing another recovery but it does the same no matter what recovery I use.
I have tried removing the battery and putting it back in it still wants to boot in to recovery and it still fails.
Please help me! :/

Hello, after reinstalling the different recoverys a few times I finally got in to it and was able to install another rom, now my phone works.
Thank you though for trying to help!
Be careful, if it's accidently works. I recommend to flash TWRP 2.8.3 by Odin.
