I got a little overzealous in titanium backup and removed the calendar sync service, now calendar wont sync (nerp)
I have tried to reinstall rom (no wipe) and remove/reinstall calendar but no luck.
Any ideas on how to get this installed again, i have no backup.
Look for a gapps package for whatever version of Android you have and either flash it or extract and push the calendar provider apk to system/app, make sure the apk permissions are correct (644), then reboot.

Hello, i tryed to install androir stock calendar.
i deleted calendar, calendarprovider and semccalendar vanilla or somethink like that
now i cannot install the stock calendar and calendarprovider.apk
can anyone help?
i can use ADB to install id (with rootexplorer i cannot copy the files to system/app even it i am rooted
Help please
Did you delete apps from system/app or moved to /data/app and then uninstalled it?
The correct way to remove default apps is to move then from system/app to data/app, reboot and the uninstall it opening settings/manage applications.
If you just deleted apps from system, its better to repair your phone with SEUS and remove stock apps with correct way. Believe me, I removed apps before without uninstalling then and system was sucking my battery very fast. Just make a repair, uninstalled things correctly and now my phone is so much better.
Wat is the need of removing the app make backup of that and replace wid the android default calendar...

Did the "rm /system/app/Candendar.apk" and wondered why it didn't work.
The system keeps some files in memory and they survive the "rm" command. Fixed this by doing;
1. Setting> Applications > Manage Applications and removing all calendar named apps, (there were about 4 still including com.sonyericsson.calandar!)
2. Restart phone.
3. Copy standard Calendar and CalandarProvider across (I used scp and dropbear, you could do the same with adb or rootexplorer) Files are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9434204&postcount=2
4. Restart phone. (I didn't need to run the "install" command, files were "chmod 644" already)
Now have the standard calendar rather than the SE calendar!
Solved ! thanks
I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and uninstalled all the calendar files (stupid, i know) but I can't figure out how to reinstall them. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?
Nevermind
Thank you EducateAndInnovate for the post on bROM!! Totally fixed my phone and added some extras that are wonderful! I do have a follow up question though, when I look at Titanium Backup at the ROM storage, it is almost doubled. Did I install two ROMs? Is that even possible? Or is bROM just a bit larger than the stock ROM?
Just rooted yesterday. I was hoping to be able to use my Google calendar but the sync isn't working. Is their an easy way to fix this? I was an old thread in the development section but it looked pretty complicated.
I was on 1.4.2 B&N when I rooted with alberts 4.5 version and it is working great ... except for the calendar sync.
Did you enable it under Account settings? If you can't find that, try installing the Hidden Settings app in the dev forum.

Yes but there is an error message with just the calendar sync the others work fine
Odd, it worked for me (I've since moved on to CM7). Perhaps try clearing data on the calendar app. Have you opened the app itself? Perhaps you need to define the calendars you want in the app before going to account settings.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still not having any luck. The error message reads: sync is currently experiencing problems and will be back shortly. I'be used bussness calendar free and somnolence calendar I,'m pretty sure the issue is not with the applications. I downloaded synker but that gives me error messages also for the android calendar. I,'m going to keep trying eventually it will get sorted.
i'm having exact same issue as op. any progress on this sync issue?
everything else is syncing fine.
I was having the same problem. I could never get calendar sync under accounts.
I'm currently using CalenGoo with no problems. It's in the play store, and older versions are out there on the interwebs.
Another thing to try is to download the latest CM7 GAPPs package from the CM wiki ( google: CM7 GAPPs ---n00bs can't post links) extract the files and sideload the GoogleServicesFramework.apk (Not sure, but it seems to have given me access to more apps without incompatibility messages from the Play store and to have generally smoothed out some sync issues I was having with Google Docs)
I'm NOT on CM7 (tried it, now naively waiting for beta) I'm 1.4.2 rooted with Albert's excellent 4.5 version.
Yours,

After using the v4.6 root I added two files the Calendar apk and the CalendarProviders apk, but I had to get them from two different places to get it to work.
I can share the files in dropbox, but I am on the NT right now and since copy and paste doesn't work I can't paste the link. If you send me an email I can use the Share function and I am happy to.

Disbable.calendar syncing even if its getting an error. The files need to be copied to /system/app directory and then you need to reboot the device. After reboot enable the sync options again and it should work. In the calendar app you need to then enable calendar visibility for each calendar you want to see.
Some new information... I just recently had to totally wipe my Nook Tablet and start over. When I did what I just said to do, it didn't work. Found out that Calendar.apk should be copied to the system/app directory then CalendarProvider.apk beds to be installed. I don't actually know if either of them need to be in system/app but this.process is what it got it back up and running for me after having to redo my tablet.
I'm also trying to sync (no success until now) Google Calendar after I've moved my Defy into CM9 (build 2012.5.29, kernel CM9). I've tried all sorts of things: flashing different Gapps (newer, older), wiping cache/dalvik, but all I could get was an error message "Google Calendar Sync Has Stopped".
The only thing I did not try was a downgrade to Froyo Kernel.
Any one has find a workaround/solution?
Hello,
So I have a Galaxy S2 running Android 4.0.4 and I rooted the phone and started uninstalling some apps... I decided to remove the calendar app since I though it was completely separate from Google Calendar but it turned out that it wasn't and now I can't use Google Calendar. I tried to copy the calendar file from my HTC ONE S phone also running Android 4.0.4 but it didn't work. Not sure how I can recover my calendar.
I believe I need Calender Storage or CalendarProvider.apk because one of the calendar apps I installed said it could not create local calendar. I also coppied that file from my htc to my galaxy /system/app/ directory but I guess it's not the same file because it didn't work.
If you have a Galaxy S2 please send me these two files Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk.
Hey,
I'm using Temasek's CM13 v4.3 with blu_spark r94.
I had install gapps from opengapps.org and got all but the contacts app connected with my Google account with no issue. Running the app brings me to a Google service login that will not let me login for my account "already exist on [my] device". The Accounts settings page and Google's sync shows no problem occurring and even has the Peoples confirming a sync.
It is as if I have no contacts on my Google account; I do.
A factory reset and updated gapps as well as grabbing Contacts from the app store shows no success. Is anyone else experiencing this strange mess or has an idea what is wrong?
I had this issue too, but after I waited a few hours (with wifi in) the issue was gone. Do you already looked online on the google contacts site? Maybe you really not have any contacts?
Sorry for my Bad english
Ciao
Fix
Caused by a bad apk in the package
Manually extract the apk from nano and put it in it's own folder in priv-apps

Can you give a little more detail/specifics? Still struggling to get contact sync working, much appreciated.

Thanks for the help. I tried but still do not work.
Will try with another GApps package tonight.
This worked for me ... Gapps missing Google Contacts Sync in the package
I found a solution. The problem is that the Open Gapps is missing or not installing the package Google Contacts Sync, which is needed for contacts to sync properly.
Install this apk:- apkmirror com/apk/google-inc/google-contacts-sync/google-contacts-sync-6-0-release/google-contacts-sync-6-0-2280749-android-6-0-android-apk-download/
(Add . after www and apkmirror)
And in Settings > Apps, enable the Contacts permission for Google Contacts Sync. Remove your Google account, reboot, and then re-add and your contacts should sync.
