sorry if this has been explained somewhere. I have been looking for hours. i need to downgrade my evo 4g lte back to isc so I can get the diag drivers to work to flash to cricket network with qpst. What I am look for is which ruu to use and can I just downgrade using which ever one I want. I did read somewhere that downgrading won't work. I did download an ruu, but windows will not open it for some reason. I am on 3.16 and hboot 2.09. moonshine s-off thanks in advance!!
First off, I'm not 100% certain on this. I think, because you are S-off you can flash MeanRom ICS and that may be all you need. Search the development forums for the download. Again, I'm not an expert but I have heard that this is possible.

If you're on the newest firmware update you would need to downgrade your touch panel driver to the previous version (unless you already have), otherwise your touch panel won't work if you install a ROM that's not based on software version 3.16. You could then flash an ICS ROM. You may also need to downgrade your recovery to an older version like 2.3.3.0. Other than that you should be good to go.
If you need to downgrade your touch panel driver, look in the link below.

Look in the downloads section of Captain's firmware thread. Use the touch panel from the 3.15 update. Install it as you would any other firmware update. There should be no need to change recoveries.
You need the touch panel labeled "tp_SYN3202.img zip ".

Hi, its been awhile since being in the root scene. Last being my HTC EVO 4g.
So, I now have the e4glte. It came with software version 1.13, so I'm assuming I have the supported lazypanda hboot. But how would I go about double checking my hboot.
Secondly, once I'm rooted, where can I find the 1.22 ota stock rooted. Havnt been able to find it browsing the forum on my phone
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE using xda premium
To get to the hboot screen first make sure that under Settings>Power, that Fastboot is unchecked. Power off phone then push Power and Volume down at the same time. Should pop up with the Androids skateboarding.
Now for the 1.22 software you'll have to search through develpoment, but you should know that were up to software 2.13 now. 2.13 comes with Sense 4.1 which gave us more to do with, esp the remapping ability of recent apps.
Hope that helps.

Thanks a ton, I did some more research. Seems I have the launch software, but it was nagging about the 1.22, so I thought that was the latest.
Seems I'm one of the lucky ones as I bought this phone today, and I have the 1.12 hboot and the1.02 radio.
So ill I need to do is use the lazypanda method to diff then flash a 2.13 Rom of my choice?
Is there any Plain stock 2.13 roms that anyone can link?

For the most part, yes. But it would also be good to update the firmware and radios which can be found here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30865522 Make sure you obtain s-off before attempting this though.
And I tried looking for the stock 2.13 ROM but I can't seem to find it right now. If you can't find it though, I know I should have a copy on my pc that I could put on dropbox for you. Just let me know.

Here's a stock rooted ROM:
[ROM][Kernel] Jewel 2.13.651.1 Stock Rooted - Based on Latest OTA
Hello, my apologies if this problem has arisen in the past. however, after rigorously browsing the forums, I came up short.
When I install/ flash the jellybam rom or cm10.1 rom, the screen stops working except for in bootloader and twrp recovery. I heard you have to downgrade the touch panel, how do i do that?
I have;
-HBOOT 2.09
- build 3.19 and I belive everything else is up to date on the latest software.
I _think_ you need to update the touch panel drivers/firmware also, located here: http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...LE-Jewel-Radio-Collection&p=220556&viewfull=1
tp_SYN3202.img is the latest, but it says it will break touch screen in recovery and on non-stock roms if done incorrectly.
I would ask this question in captain_throwback's latest firmware thread before you install tp_SYN3202.img
I'm only pointing you in the right direction, I have NO experience with updating the touch panel .img - please ask someone who has dealt with this before you do ANYTHING (I just dont want you to break your evo!)

The newest touch panel firmware doesn't work with AOSP, AOKP, 3.15 based ROMs (or lower), or older recoveries..You need to revert to the old TP firmware before flashing any ROM not based on 3.16.

As far as I know all the files are located in Capt Throwback's firmware thread. You probably need S-Off to flash them though. The new 3.16 OTA updated the touchscreen's firmware. This new update is only good with the latest TWRP and 3.16 based roms..so to flash anything on the old base or AOSP you need the old touchscreen firmware. Hope that clears it up a little.

I seem to have the same problem.
I'm running the viper rom on my evo 4g. Was going to upgrade to the latest version and wanted to update firmware first.
I grabbed the latest twrp (4.2.1) installed that, rebooted.
I then grabbed the latest firmware from themikmik, installed that and rebooted.
And i then grabbed the tp_syn3202 update and installed that and rebooted
And now my touch screen does not respond to any touch input. I don't know what to do at this point since they only thing i can do is either force the phone to reboot, or go into hboot by holding down the volume down and camera keys. And all that does is ask me if i want to reinstall the tp update.
I don't know how to get into twrp to even try and install the latest rom assuming that would fix the issue.

You have to downgrade your touch panel driver to the 3.15 version. Check the thread below and go to the downloads link in the first post. The touch panel driver is installed the same way you upgrade firmware, through the bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704612
On the page with the downloads, the touch panel zip is in the second post and is labeled " tp_SYN3202.img zip". If you've forgotten how to do a firmware update, hit the top link in my sig and look for the section on firmware updates.
Seriously though, there are plenty of newer, up-to-date ROM's out there. Why would you bother with this one?

So I just put CM10.0 on my phone, using TWRPS 2.4.4 (CWM didn't seem to respond for me) and I can boot into Android but the touchscreen doesn't work. The touchscreen does work in recovery however. Can anyone help me out here because I've been searching for solutions about this all night, and I eventually gave up and decided to make this.
Thanks, in advance.
EDIT: May I note that I applied CM10.0 because 10.1 got stuck at the CM boot screen for some reason. Also, I was updated to the latest stock software before I started this whole process.
You need to downgrade your touch panel and TWRP to something like 2.3.3.0. to run CM10. Right now you're limited to running ROM's that are software version 3.16. Read Captain Throwback's firmware thread in development for more info. The best way to downgrade would be by getting S-off. Makes life much simpler

"Full" Firmware zip
Includes Radio 1.12.11.1119, PRI 2.87_003 & a few other smaller updates.
NOT INCLUDED IN ZIP: HBOOT.img, recovery.img (stock), and boot.img

Hey Everyone,
This is my first actual post on xda but these forums have helped me with many things that have come up with during my time with Android
I recently installed CM 10.1.3 RC2 for my HTC EVO 4g LTE and couldn't find a good guide to going back to the stock software that I had before. Nothing is wrong with CM but I just prefer sense for this device.
To install CM I unlocked my bootloader with HTC DEV and flashed twrp 2.4.1.0 according to CM's guide. I installed GooManager for access to the twrp bootloader but from their I'm confused as to how to revert back to stock htc sense. I downloaded the latest RUU for my device so if anyone can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

You can flash a Sense ROM. There are quite a few to choose from. If you want to go back stock and unrooted, you can run a RUU. If you're on the latest Hboot, you'll have to S-off and run VipeRUU to get you back to stock, since there is no RUU for the latest OTA.
Also, there is no such thing as a "TWRP bootloader". TWRP is your recovery

No. It's a "stock" ROM, not a RUU. If you truly want to go back completely stock, get S-off and then use the tool in the link below. If you simply want a stock-feeling Sense ROM, check out the development threads-there are plenty.
Here is the link to VipeRUU. You must be S-off to use it.

It would also be helpful if you posted your Hboot and radio (baseband) version.

Okay, so I am completely new to all of this.
Some of my specs are currently
Android version: 4.1.1
Software: MeanBean_3.90
HTC Sense version: 4+
s-ON
My question is... I want to upgrade to JellyBean ROMs/Mods
Can I change my android version without damaging my ability to relock my phone?
I mean. Can I still return my phone to factory (unroot same software etc) if I update my Android version?
Also I tried to return my phone to stock but I am just getting TWRP set up over and over... Do I just need to flash the factory software?
Or do I use the Build number as a guide for an exe file?
Also does anyone know about the "Operation Jelly Bean" ROM by the Anonymous team?
I flashed the ROM, I love the ROM but the touch panel DOES NOT work for me.
According to the specs I should be able to use it?
Anyone else with s-ON try to use it and have issues with the touch panel?
or does anyone have any insight?
You can do whatever you want and still be able to return your phone to factory stock, although gaining S-off will make this easier, since you can use the VipeRUU tool to get you back totally stock. The tool requires you to be S-off.
You can't use Operation Jelly Bean because you are on the 3.16 software version, which includes an upgraded touch panel driver so you can only use 3.16 ROM's or AOSP ROM's with the 3.4 kernel. Operation Jelly Bean is 3.15 based. You must also use TWRP 2.4+. You can get S-off and downgrade your touch panel driver to the previous version & run whatever ROM you want.

I changed to a stock ROM the Radio ends in 0830?
Do I just need to find stock ROMs and find one that ends with 1210?
I have tried to run the distiller (read everything uninstalled HTC sync from windows Programs)
But my distiller fails.
If I run it on the Blues and Jazz ROM it fully flashes the SuperCID (120/120 Fastboot)
But it will fail at the adb flash (around 50/120)

Boot into the bootloader and list your full radio (baseband) version, not just the last 4 digits.
Also keep in mind that custom ROM's do not include firmware (radio, etc.). So flashing a ROM in and of itself will not change your firmware version. That's something you have to do separately from the ROM. The only thing that may change is your software version, depending on the ROM.

I don't think I have flashed any Firmware at all then.
You haven't. You're on the latest OTA. Moonshine might work but at this point nobody has tried it on the latest OTA so it's anybody's guess as to whether or not it will work.

Sure. You can use any ROM based on software version 3.16 or 3.17, and any AOSP ROM with the 3.4 kernel. You'll just have to flash the ROM with Flash Image GUI or fastboot commands depending on the ROM.

Right. On Sense ROM's make sure they're at least version 3.16. For AOSP make sure the kernel is 3.4.
