Maybe the downloaded rom is broken or something. Try downloading from another computer or an Internet Cafe. If possible, verify the checksum of the rom to see where it's broken or not.

I even tried AVATAR rom which is working on galaxy S but not in my S2, Its showing the same status error 7
Status 7 error arises usually when you are trying to flash a rom not meant for ur device. Are you sure you are downloading the rom meant for the I9100? Because some roms are available for multiple devices.

I have come across that status 7 error when being on certain kernels ( not dori though) but came around it by flashing philz kernel then rebooting recovery and flashing rom. Have you tried with another kernel or another version of dori? Hope you get it sorted out GL.

I tried Kernel_Siyah-Dorimanx-V9.32 on flashing rom. For now im able to flash rom from ANDROID ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT section. I noticed those scripts dont have ASSERTS.
But ROMs from ANDROID DEVELOPMENT has ASSERTS, even editing i can not flash...
Can you suggest a kernel which is suitable for problem.
What is your current rom.? Chameleon OS rom (4.2.2) or Chameleon 3.0.3 (4.1.2 hybrid). Are u sure your kernel is dori and not the stock from your rom. Sorry if I ask obvious but just checking. Maybe try flashing philz kernel and the rom. Read up first. I am sort of a noob so don't want to mess up your phone. Good luck.

Good thinking! Come to think of it, I had this issue while flashing Resurrection Remix while being on Dorimanx kernel. Switched to Siyah kernel and the flash went well.. :good:

AFAIK, you cant dual boot GB with ICS/JB as the kernels are very different.

Am sorry, I didnt understand.
While dual booting, both ROMs share a single kernel.
So, for both ROMs to work, they must work using the same kernel, and hence must be ICS or JB.
GB kernel doesn't support ICS or JB.

Hi all,
Anyone having this Wifi speed problem on SGS2 i9100G with Stock Jelly bean 4.1.2?
i download the firmware from Sammobile and flashed to my phone via odin. I did wipe out data before flashing.
This is my phone version
PDA: I9100GXXLSR
Phone: I9100GXXLSP
CSC : I9100GATOLS1
I tested with my phone Speedtest apps Download speed :20kbps
I tried with my friends SGS2 on ICS and getting : 700kbps +
Both tested with the same WIFI network and one to one connection.
Any fix or guide to solve this??
thanks~
Change/Update ur firmware.
Seems like there is a problem in kernel with wife driver.
And I won't think that it's always like this on Jellybean, because it's first time I heard about this.
So maybe a firmware fold or a bad flash.
Much success

Hmm.. alright i will try reflash again.
another question, is the Phone/modems/baseband build related to the WIFI or it is only related to GSM 3g/HSDPA conectivity?

You can flash kernel alone, instead of flashing the entire rom.
Might work.. might not..
Be careful what u flash. Only flash stuff meant for I9100G.

Hi all
I just flashed my device Galaxy I9100G with the Stock Official Firmwares as this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679636
And before i flash i did factory reset from android OS not from recovery mode (Settings -> backup -> Factory reset) then i flashed the Firmwares everything good and it work great, then i try to root as they say here in first method, but after i chose apply update from external storage in recovery mode an error appear saying "E:Failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)" and i don't have an external sdcard i am using internal 16 GB.
Please help me
Sorry if i post in wrong section but i am new user this is my first post and the forum didn't allow me to post in developer section
Sorry for my bad english too
Isn't that method for ICS instead of JB? You can look for a guide that tells you the steps with Odin (in other words: flash a custom kernel with Odin to give you root access).

Of course there is. Otherwise nobody could use rooted JB-roms. Look for Siyah for example.
Yes, as far as I know the steps are the same.

It does work for JB, but unfortunately u require an external SD card for that.
@OP:
However, I recommend you flash Siyah v6 b5 kernel via Odin.

And second this Siyah Kernal is it nased on Stock Offical ? and does it work on I9100G or only on I9100 ?

No way without an sd card.
Siyah is a custom kernel, but its good too. If you want to root with a stock based kernel, use Philz kernel.
U said u have I9100, right? Or is it I9100G?
Siyah doesn't work on I9100G.

That's a really big mistake mate! If you had done anything related to the I9100 on ur device, you would very well have bricked it!
Both have differences in hardware, and hence use different kernels and ROMs.

So as the title says, can you root your phone and then flash a custom Rom without a sim card installed?
I'm getting an S2 either at the end of this week or during the start of next week, but I'm getting it as fully unlocked and without a sim card (I'm getting a sim only contract in less that 2 weeks). I want to install the Siyah Kernel, then flash the CyanogenMod 10.1 Rom (and then Gapps, of course).
So, is it safe to do this without a sim card installed? Of course I'll upgrade the phone the Jelly-bean first before flashing anything (I've looked a lot into this). I've seen a thread on here where the members said it was safe, but I saw on another website that it caused problems. So sorry if this is a noobish question or whatever, I just wanted to make sure of everything.
Also,
Are Siyah Kernel and CyanogenMod 10.1 a good match? I'd make another thread for this, but seeing as I'm making this one, I may as well just include it as a quick question here
And,
I'm getting the S2 for a good price (£205 because of a store nearby trying to get rid of the excess stock that they still have). And I've pretty much got my eyes set on this phone because it's plenty enough for me. Just thought I'd throw that out there before someone tries to suggest another phone to me, because I've kinda got my sights set on the S2, haha :')
1.Yep, it is safe to flash without a sim card installed.
2.Try it yourself and see what kernel suits you best

1. Alright, thanks
2. If I don't happen to like it, can I just change it by flashing a new one as I would do originally? Or would I have to do anything extra now that the custom Rom had been installed?
Let me add a minor point too..
When ur planning to mix different roms and kernels, be careful u choose kernels which support the roms.
In ur case, if u want to use Siyah, choose the correct version that works with CM10.1.

I've checked, and Siyah Kernal version 1.9.1. works fine with CM 10.1
I had checked before but it never hurts to check again just to make sure, eh? After all, I don't want to mess up my phone on the first day

I'll have the phone by the end of next week at the *very* latest, so I'll give you all an update when I've received it and flashed it
I used biftor Rom and kernel Dorimanx 8:35.
I have a problem :
Automatic power off (random, non time using), I have to press the power button to turn on, when I took charge in about 30 minutes, the machine is automatically turned off.
How to fix it?
You should probably ask that in the ROM's thread mate. Have you done a clean flash of the ROM? Tried another kernel?

I did clean rom, I'm trying to newer versions of the kernel.
Three days ago, the very stable but this morning it rebooted itself.
I do not know what is happening.
Try using a wipe/nuke script and then flash the rom again. Don't flash any kernels. Check and see if the issue persists. If yes, its a bug. Report it and see what the dev replies.

Looks like a bad battery. Random shut downs - check, charging issues - check....
OP, get a new genuine battery to fix those issues.
