keyboard case - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own a 5 inch chinese android phone. 1080p screen etc. Its a pretty mediocre phone so isn't in use. Basically i wanted to either find a case like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...-with-Stand-Cover-Case-for-7-9/958953702.html ..something that will allow me to turn it into a mini laptop/umpc...OR... does anyone have suggestions on making a housing? I will be disasembling it if i cant find a case and costom building....
My idea was to use a nintendo ds housing and a mini bluetooth keyboard..

Please dont ask why I would want to do this, its basically just because i can! I am currently porting linux to the device so should be a worthy little UMPC
You know, make something like the Pandora console without the gaming functionality...
Cheers

BT Thumb Keyboard

I'm looking for a small thumb-like bt keyboard. I know there are many folded ones, but they are all to big. Coming from Kaiser i miss thumb-typing, so i'm in need of something similar. Logitech dinovo mini is way to expencive and still to big to carry around. I found some, but don't know if they will work. If anyone has some idea if this can work on HD or does know thumb-like keyboard, please share.
Old one, but it looks great

tnx
Have you also explore alternative soft keyboards like Resco or SBP:

http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/keyboard/
I also used to have a Touch Pro and a Tytn II and was a thumb typist on both. But, now I'm happy with JUST the HD and now keyboard.
i use soft keybrds for fast input, but when typing long emails it's much faster to type with hw keyboard. I even make less typos with it.
i suppose the only problem is with device driver, so what kind of BT chip does HD have? Some of this thumb keyboards allready have wm support (of some sort) and support Bluesoil.
I dont know much of this, so i could be way off. Even so, i think this would be good adition.
tnx
could be used for games?

I'm not sure that the maplin one would work
I had a real good look at it plus some web searching
ps3's use a different HID to microsoft
Hence I'm reasonable sure it not for you

[Q] Can you use NT as a drawing tablet on PC

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there was a app that would enable you to use the NT as drawing pad (ie a bamboo tablet for example)? I ask because i tend to do work with Photoshop and would find convenient to be able to use the nook tablet to work as a drawing tablet so i can use it to make fine edits.
For that reason, simply controlling the desktop doesn't work quite that well as it has a lag so it makes getting detail drawings difficult.
I am just curious if it is even possible to do it, as i feel like their are others who would enjoy this functionality too, so if their isn't a app to do it, maybe it would be worth while for someone to make it and sell it.
I have the bamboo tablet. Probaably not worth trying to kludge the nootlet to do the job of a dedicated drawing tablet ... same reason you wouldn't try to use the nootlet as a replacement for a mouse.

[Q] Its possible to build from SGSII --> PC ?

Hi everybody
im thinking about build PC from mobile phone.
im using small netbook, and dont need anything faster, but something with bigger screen than 10 inches and portable.
same project is going on.. but now isnt anything more.
I want to dock phone to have PC. Pair bluetooth mouse, keyboard, connect it with MHL microUSB to HDMI reduction to TV/big monitor, and run ubuntu.
i saw some projects where somebody tries things, but i want to ask if somebody have experience with this, cause i dont have money to spend on expensive reductions/bluetooth keyboard..etc.
IT IS possible, by HDMI reduction show image on TV,
wil it work also with paired mouse and keyboard?
and if YES, will it work under ubuntu installed on android device??
thanks for every reply.

should be possible
Try search its been done before .

Help regarding Android Mini PC MK802 IIIS

Hey XDA!
I've bought an Android Mini PC MK802 IIIS model so I could watch mostly Netflix on my TV, however I have several problems.
First of all, the subtitles from Netflix are just waay too small, i can't even read them from my couch. I've Googled and search on XDA but I couldnt find a solution. Isnt there any way to increase the subtitle size? Or just increase overall size, so you eventually can resize before/after you've watched Netflix..? If any developers are reading this, It'd also be very nice if someone could perhaps edit the apk and increase the size this way..? At least I'd be very thanksful for that.
Second of all, the MK802 is very unstable for me. It keeps crashing the apps, and restarting it self several times pr. hours. It interrupts when I watch movies, when I browse or whatever I'm doing. It gets pretty annoying and I was wondering if it is defect or MK802 mostly are very unstable..?
Anyone else at XDA who has this device and what are your experience with it?
Also, it would be very nice with its very own subforum, but I guess there are too few of us with them, that it is possible..?
Thank you very much! - Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: I'm sorry if this isnt the correct place to put this thread, but it was the most obvious place for me at least.

Your netflix works? I have the same unit (I actually have both an mk802II and a mk802IIIs). Mine just sits at the "loading" screen after I make a selection. Another issue I've noticed is ampdroid doesn't seem to work on the mk802IIIs (but works fine on my mk802II).
Overall I'm not having many stability issues, love the mk802IIIs remote off my smartphone using gsensor

hmmm ???
Ok im hoping to at least get some feedback - Im new to the Mini PC thing - and was actually thinking of picking up the rikomagic mk802IIIS or even a Zealz GK802 or mk808B. but im totally confused and wondering about capability. These things look pretty cool... id like to play around with one of these and try to use it as a media server (music, video, secure ftp) which of the following devices would be best suited to this? I know some are easier to root and get linux installed un them but if someone cold point me to a better place to inquire more about the capability of such devices that would be great. At the moment as far as a dual core that can support Ubuntu based distro it would appear that these 2 devices ( mk802 IIIS & MK808B) appear to be the best from a hardware perspective until the rockchip 3166 comes out or a version of linux is able to run on the GK802, but in case i over-looked some other option or what not which of these would be a good fit for a low-power media server?

Use your Yoga book to draw on other Android tablets!

If anyone is interested in this, I can create a mini tut how. You will need root on the other android device but not on Yogabook. I am guessing that I am the only one who uses it this way.
I use my Yogabook to draw on my Note 2014 10.1 for example. Sounds like a stupid idea, but it is not. For instance I can keep the screen at any distance I want, I also can use the pressure sensitive pen on the screen of Samsung Note without disconnecting my Yogabook So I can switch back and forth at no cost.
This seems to work with any android tablet well as long as they have proper input. I tested it with my Nook Hd and it works. So if you have a 12 inch android tablet then you will get much nicer screen space and much better pressure sensitivity. The Yogabook pen has much deeper pressure sensing compared to the wacom stuff ships with Samsung line as far a I can tell.
I haven't got one yet but plan to (there are other more urgent pending expenses), but I would love to have this for when I do get it. I'm guessing that not only will it work for other tablets but any other Android devices (like tv boxes).
But anyways, I hope you share (and that the method survives the nougat upgrade if/when it comes).
Apologies for the thread resurrection. Did you make progress with this? And if so, how well does it work?
Can I, for example, use Sketchbook or Squid on one Android device, and just use my Yoga Book as an input device for it, much as one would use an Intuos tablet on a PC? Can it operate with the Yoga Book's screen turned off?
