i have lava iris 401e
want to root it coz intrnl memory is tooo loww
tried these steps
installed adb
driver installation was not successful with google usb drivers in android sdk
but superoneclick driver installer did that
so adb drivers are installed
but now having problem in rooting
with superoneclick
it stuck at 7th step wait for device
with doomlord
it stuck at waiting for device to show up
with bin4ry rootkit
it stuck at waiting for device
and with unlockroot
it gave error like "unable to root shell"
when in these softwares it was showing waiting for device
i tried to give it a way to detect device
in cmd i typed command
adb devices
device was found
phone restarted but nothing happened
i think it can be rooted with unsecured boot.img and scatter file method
please do that for me

Have you tried installing correct driver & ADB driver ?
ADB driver is must to root with bin4ry tool.
try this guide to install ADB driver first ,
then use this guide to root karbonn a6 ,

Download vroot in your pc,connect your phone via data cable and check usb dubbing , then open vroot and check the small box and click on ROOT.. u hv done..:thumbup:

please somebody help i am using karbonn a6 spd firmware i installed i launcher an i noty to its internal memory and i restarted my phone after making i launcher as default and activated i noty also now i launcher shows message"the application ilauncher has stopped unexpectedly.system failed to repair the error please use other software" but when i click home button nothing happens my bluetooth is on but even my inoty is not showing its notifications or else i would have send another launcher to bluetooth and installsed and opened it but due to inoty i am not able to see bluetooth notifications to accept the incoming file i can open dialer due to a missed call but cannot open settings or even usb debugging so that use miracle box or volcano to clear cache as my phone does not have cwm recovery but is rooted i am using its original rom please send help and suggestion i am worried please help . satyarth sood if found solution please send to [email protected]

I am also looking for the same. The device is detected as "MyHTC" and it seems that the bootloader is locked. There is no fastboot option to get the device id to unlock bootloader. I can get into recovery mode. I am not able to post the link to the product page but you can search and find the same on site iball.co.in.
Please try installing Towelroot on your device and using it to obtain root. It will root many Kitkat devices.... uses a few different exploits to achieve root access.

I tried baudi root to root my device. The Chinese superuser is installed but there is no root access. And that superuser apk made my tablet sluggish. Can u tell how to remove the superuser.apk. my tab isn't rooted.
And towel root and many other apps doesn't work.

And I want to tell that first I installed kingroot and my tab was rooted. But game killer was not working then I unrooted . then again tried with baudi root but It made my tab sluggish.
Please help to remove that superuser

I could get into fastboot mode through adb command "reboot bootloader". However, fastboot screen is blank with only "Fastboot=>" mentioned at bottom left of screen. In bootloader mode device is recognized as "mtk6582_phone". I don't have the phone ROM file that could have been used to create custom CWM recovery and without root I cannot backup the phone ROM. One-click root methods fail. Any ideas?

I am little skeptical about using methods that are not well-known. You mentioned you faced some issues after this..?

Just use iroot (also known as vroot) Easy steps starts here:
1. DOWNLOAD iroot /vroot
2.Use ur usb cable and connect ur phone to pc
3. Put ur phone in usb debugging mode available in developer option
4. IF u dont have developer option then go to setting->about phone and continously click build number till you get notified.
5. And open vroot and let it detect ur phone. It will ask permission so give permission from ur tablet. It will download and install some drivers.
6. U can see there is a option to root ur phone go ahead and click it
7. Ur tablet may restart so don't. Pannic

download the following software install to a pc start the program plug in your device (enable usb debugging) all you do is click root and hey presto mine took about 20mins but after months of searching i can confirm the this device can be rooted hope this helps

and the second page comments for recovery hints. TWRP requires some study and preparation before use so it's not good to be stuck when attempting recovery.
Note the comment on the 3rd page about the updated recovery image that lets you see what you are doing on the screen. For me I got it working, working in the dark (ie. not seeing anything on screen), so it's too early for a video tutorial.

Rooting using Kingo Root
Rooting nowadays is very simple.
But the easiest way to do it is the following:
1. Download Kingo Root for Windows, Mac or Linux;
2. Install Kingo Root;
3. Open the program;
4. Connect your phone to your pc through USB cable and wait for Kingo Root recognize it;
5. If your phone is rootable it will appear a button saying "ROOT", click there (If your device is not rootable then you are out of luck and you must try another method)
6. Don't remove your phone and don't click anywhere, wait until the rooting process is finished;
7. After this your phone should reboot, it means you are now rooted (If your phone did'nt rebooted, manually reboot it then);
8. Enjoy!
Note: Rooting will void the device's warranty, root at your own risk.
Download the phone's drivers if needed and disable Windows, Mac or Linux firewall if needed.

Got it!!
All roms of INFOCUS are given on their Taiwan website. Unfortunately, the site is in local language but with little exploration I was able to find out the rom in it. I'm pasting a link to it:

Ok, here is the procedure.
1) Download firmware for your phone (I'm supposing its m370i) and put it in a mini SD card.
2) Now insert this memory card into your phone, and boot into recovery mode.
3) Now select update zip from SD Card and select the firmware file in your SD Card.
4) Once the operation has started wait for 15-20 mins. for the entire process to end. Do not restart the phone till the procedure ends on its own.
That's it!!

This firmware is meant for M370. Will it function properly on M370i?
I compared the hardware properties and I don't seem to identify any relevant differences, so, I just want to confirm here.

Yes, It has worked on my Infocus M370i twice (1 GB Ram/8 GB memory). I'm not so sure about 2 GB version as I don't have it but theoretically it should work on it too.

Use kingroot app to root m370i. Search, download the app of this app from Google. Run it and in press of a button everything will get done.

If you have ever rooted your phone which I believe you have, then installing software update will brick your phone.
To avoid this, you should first install stock rom and then update the system.
