I yanked the radio out and flashed it via ODIN from the update that's been floating around for those that want to play with it. Flashed it on mine and doesn't seem to have caused any issues (at least on CM). After a day's worth of testing I am noticing that I do get better reception in areas that are trouble areas for me normally.
Note: CM didn't like the new DSP in the NON-HLOS.bin and gave me no audio. I reverted back to just using the new modem.bin file for now and the revert file here can be used if needed. This will restore you to the old HLOS and modem. Just flash the modem.bin below by itself without the HLOS file if you just want the radio updates.I have removed the HLOS file and instructions for the time being until developers update ROMs to be compatible. Using the updated modem is fine by itself.
- Download File
- Flash modem.bin in ODIN under PHONE and wait for PASS! (ODIN did seem to hang for a moment while the phone processed. Don't panic)
- Reboot (if you didn't have it set to do so in ODIN)
- Profit?

Note: If your phone has rebooted and hasn't cleared "reset" into "pass" in ODIN it's not the end of the world. As long as it was successful flashing (lower left corner of ODIN) and is currently booted into android after reboot, you're fine.

That would require coding rather than just pulling files. As I haven't coded since the Thunderbolt era... I'll leave that to the guys that know what they're doing. Cameras in particular are always a pain in the ass.
I am willing to give this a shot since you mentioned it helped with your signal in your apt. In my case my location is kinda problematic because of how close it is to Verizon's home network, but I am physically located within the extended network. So in my apartment my signal fluctuates quite a bit, and more so depending on which room I am in (my living room must be close enough to get the home network, but my bedroom is just outside of it's reach).
**Just got done and here's the results - I was able to flash the modem.bin you posted on my stock rooted phone and right off the bat things seem to be better signal wise. After rebooting the phone there were no issues that I can see or find, everything seems to be functioning correctly. Phone calls seem to sound a little better (I have no idea if it's a fluke because of the hour or the new radio), and data hasn't been impacted at all.
I also noticed a small improvement in the signal strength readings, but I will keep monitoring it to make sure it's not a random fluke.
According to this thread over on the GSM side, one should be able to flash NON-HLOS.bin the same way:

Edit 1: Looking at the text strings in the NON-NLOS.bin file, there are a lot of references to voice filters, gain, pitch, speech, agc, etc, and even "European digital cellular telecommunications system 4750 ... 12200 bits/s speech codec for Adaptive Multi-Rate speech traffic channels". Seems like this file is mostly vocoder-related stuff.

It mentions that if "If any of MPSS, DSPS, WCNSS, or LPASS is recompiled" NON-HLOS.bin should be "updated". DSP - digital signal processor, WCNSS = "Wireless ConNectivity SubSystem (WCNSS) driver. The WCNSS is a new Hardware integrating WLAN, BT and FM technologies that is built into new MSM chip." I can't definitions for MPSS and LPASS, but MPSS is mentioned in some Qualcomm job listings relating to Modem Test Technicians/Engineers, so it seems logical that these two files should go together, but given some have had hard bricks when flashing other parts of the firmware, I'd be cautious.

Just flashed it, will give results in the morning (or afternoon, depending on where you're at).
You weren't kidding about Odin pausing up for a bit .. the phone had reset and was already running for about a minute before Odin changed to "PASS" ... so hopefully everyone is patient!

I don't have a linux box and wiped recently so i don't have a linux box set up to create a single file to flash. If someone wants to do it and beats me to it I'll gladly link it in the op. Until then i've re-uploaded elsewhere for bandwidth.

Just a heads up for everyone, after I flashed the updated modem/non-hlos files my back speaker and wifi wouldn't work. I flashed back to the mdk versions of those files and everything working like a charm again...

I Have an international SIII (GT-I9300) and I accidentally flashed it with SGH-I747 BOOTLOADER and PIT file. The phone can only boot to download mode showing PRODUCT NAME of SGH-i747 .

Some points:
-Flashing recovery.img completes successfully but I can't boot to it.
-Flashing boot.img completes successfully and boot successfully.
Some solutions I tried :
-Flashing CWM recovery or CF root to access recovery then use busybox to flash sboot.bin, param.bin and tz.bin but I can't boot to recovery.
-Flashing BOATLOADER with PIT and re-partition enabled but did't work (same odin output).
-Flashing bootloader to sd card to boot from it (some say it really works but it didn't).
And some solutions I'm thinking of:
-Send it to JTAG service (but it's not available here)
-Flashing SGH-I747 recovery.img to restore bootloder.
-What?!
I need you help and your advise guys.

I've not heard a single case where a wrong flash was fixed by reflashing software alone. You'll need jtag at least, probably a new screen and/or motherboard.

My girlfriend has always had stock firmware on her i9300 (international). This morning it stopped working, so I told her I could revive it.
I've been trying to install cyanogenmod on it, as per http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_i9300. Heimdall connects, but when I try to flash the recovery image, I get the following error:

I've been trying Odin, actually. The problem with it is that is that my main laptop runs os x (where I've been trying Heimdall, as posted above), but Odin is on my old windows laptop. And it doesn't seem to have the proper usb drivers for the phone. I've been trying to install them, to no avail. Would you happen to know where I could get the proper usb drivers for the i9300?

It works for sure. Try every usb port on the pc. Deinstall Keis and it's drivers. Is usb debugging on in developer options?

Well, see, that's the problem I have. I can't get to usb debugging, because the phone won't turn on past the boot animation. I can get into download mode, but that's pretty much it.

I have an i9300 bought from UAE having stock firmware and stock recovery (not rooted).
But it wont boot and is stuck on Samsung's boot image.
However when I booted up into recovery, along with the Recovery option it said it wasn't able to mount or find some volumes....
So I looked up some post and tried installing CF-Auto-Root for i9300 and later TWRP-3.0 for i9300 using Odin 3.10.7 but both failed.
And now I am stuck with only Download Mode.
I also looked up for firmware but found two different versions XSG and LYS and also for Android 4.3 (I remember having 4.1.x)
Also I tried printing the PIT using heimdall which worked as expected.
It would be great to have a backup of my files, if I could atleast mount the internal memory.
Is it possible to access the device using adb via some way in download mode?
Also is there a way I can re-flash the stock firmware? If yes, than which?

Hi, i bought an used galaxy s2 i777. It is stuck at Samsung logo, also for any unknown reason it doesn't charge the battery, if i try to enter in any charge mode (plug the phone to the charger for example) a gray battery icon appears with a circle in the middle (not moving) and stucks there forever.
Recovery doesn't work
Only download mode works
Stock binaries, nothing custom, i even think the phone is not even rooted
Tried flashing 3 different stock roms with odin, all of them fails at the beginning "Nand write start!" and then fail, it doesn't even start to write in the memory
Tried with heimdall, any partition that i want to flash stucks at 100%, and then after a long time, if i am lucky, i get a fail error, otherwise i have to unplug the phone
tried flashing Siyah kernel (idk for what, but just trying), still fails (upload 100% forever)
tried flashing a bootloader, still stuck at 100 (with heimdall) and then fails
tried with a .pit on Odin and it stucks on "Set pit file... DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" forever, only tried with one pit found on a strange website, links here (dev-host) are dead

Do you think this can be solved? or is my phone totally dead? I would really appreciate your help
EDIT: right after posting this, i tried with a different pit file, which obviously failed and then my phone doesn't turn on, i guess that now is totally dead
Sounds like something is corrupt and you need to start over. Have you tried flashing the stock MD8 firmware .tar file in odin? You might also want to try using a different USB cable for ODIN. If all else fails then it might be a hardware issue.
Where can I download the stock UCMD8 file for the SGH-I777. I have a phone on UCKH7 I need to flash and it seems all the links are dead. I though I had it stored away on my computer but I can't find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.
