COMING SOON
FAQ:
Q: The AOSP lock screen vibration toggle isn't working? How can I have the AOSP lock screen vibration and NO soft key hepatic feedback?
A: To have the AOSP lock screen vibration toggle function properly a couple of things need to be set correctly in settings. 1) make sure if you have the "power Saving" toggle on that you UN-check the "Turn off haptic feedback" toggle. Then go into settings sound and make sure that the "Haptic feedback" toggle is checked, then scroll up and click "vibration intensity" and the "notification" value is the one that controls it.
As for having the AOSP lock screen vibration and NO haptic feedback. This one, you need to make sure that the "Haptic feedback" is checked like above and the "vibration intensity" and the "notification" value is set correctly again like mentioned above. You need to turn on Power Savings for this to work. Just UN-check everything you don't want, just make sure that the "Turn off haptic feedback" is Checed. This will cancel out the setting in Sound to activate the soft key haptic feedback and still allow the AOSP lock screen vibration working as well.
Q: Does this ROM update my baseband? If not, how do I update to the newest?
A: No. This ROM does NOT touch the baseband. If you want to upgrade I provided links above for flashable.zips for MDK and ME7 so you can decide which suits you better.
Q: I have an issue, when should I post about it?
A: Please ONLY post issues if
you have done a complete FULL wipe.
you are not running anything outside the stock ROM, meaning kernels, themes, MODs, etc.
after you have completed steps 1 & 2 please kindly post your issue(s) and I will do my best to alleviate them.
Q: How can I donate?
A: My paypal donation link is set up to the left under my name click the "Donate to me" button, or my PayPal address is [email protected]
Q: What do I choose? MOD only or Full Install?
A: The ONLY time you want to choose "MOD only" is when you want to go back and add something, so say you are on v1.1.3 or any other version, and want to add the S Translate, you choose "MOD only"
that would be the only time
when you are installing a new ROM, such as v1.1.3 over v1.1.2 or even doing a full wipe install, always choose full wipe (Aroma does not wipe for you, though) so even after choosing the full wipe OPTION, you would still need to wipe the phone in recovery prior, or after the install.
I'll try this bad boy out!!

Looks awesome. Native tether enabled/hacked? I travel a bit so this ends up as my number one feature in a Rom. I've not had good luck with the tether apps.

Please don't theme base. Maybe an add on theme is good but I personally dislike most peoples theme taste. Whatever happened to the old days of devs...and themers. Seems like now it's themers building Roms and baking their theme into it. Blacked out is overplayed also. There's no aesthetic appeal to making something plain colors with no aliasing and dropshadow to enhance the dimensional appearance.
Anyways...that's assuming your 1.1 plans are going to be extensive. Minimally themed is best imo

I just tested and it seems to be acting really weird, let me dig into that, thank you.
Although, this is with stock, a 3rd party app may work.

base is 100% non-themed..
this ROM will always be stock themed, with theme add-ons.. this is why I have a "theme" section in the second OP
my plans for v1.1 are already listed as well.
I also don't claim to be anything I am not.
I don't claim to be any type of amazing developer because I simply am not.
I am an attentive DEV, that enjoys helping the community and the challenge that I get from this.
I brought blocking mode and call/message block back to us Verizon customers, that's the only true DEV accomplishment I take credit for.
Thanks Andy bones gonna download now AWESOME

Yes you did. I got this phone on the 23rd of this month and had already stared on MDK so wanted to start with this base as I find it very solid, then move on to fully making v1.1 based off of the ME7 base that is now rooted, just want to be sure that there isn't any issues first.
Thanks for this Andy! As I told you recently in a G+ group that shall remain unnamed, you and scrosler are my devs of choice when I do run TW. And then there was only one!
Anyway, just got my S4 today, so it was perfect timing to see a BoneStock pop up here tonight! Thanks so much for your continued work and support, downloading now, and looking forward to the ME7 rebase!:thumbup:
Great to see you here andybones! Will give this a whirl and looking forward to see whatever you have in store.
Well look what we have here. Nice work pal. Keep it up, and good thing I did what I did...

Thank you everyone, hope you find 1.0 to be nice, working on v1.1 soon.
added screen shots to 3rd OP
Looks awesome going to give It a try
This ROM does have fully working Blocking Mode, and Call/Message Block (look at the screen shots), give those features a try, VZW worked hard at taking them away from us but I worked even harder to bring them back.

Settings, My Device, Rom Control, very bottom - Home Wake Button. You have to enable it then disable it again to get the Power button wake back.
My apologies, you already found it.
Just want to say - excellent v1 release andybones! I miss a few of the convenient addons, etc from Beans but a very solid start and, as always, I await the future. No problems whatsoever at this point - well, other than I finally found out my Samsung 64GB SD card is trash which is a different subject altogether.

Hello and Welcome the the Disaster Team's Simplistic ROM Thread. Enjoy your Ride.
Some History of the ROM: The Simplistic Series was first founded by me, and the disaster series was found by my very close mate, Mirko. We joined forces to bring to you the best S2 experience.
Also a very honorable mention I would like to point out is our friend Bas, thanks a lot for your everlasting support.
Another Thing is that our ROM version is counted using Roman Numbers (e.g. I, II, III, IV, V..) and if some fixed are implemented into a current version, we call this a revision.
Simplistic Control: "Full Control over your Simplistic ROM!"
Simplistic Control is a Settings-like application, where you can control a lot of the mods implemented inside the ROM.
Accessing Simplistic Control is a breeze, just open your Settings, look under personal category and you'll find it.
Simplistic Control has a lot of features categorized to provide easy and fast access to control the mod you want, as of now, it contains categories such as: Lockscreens, Phone app, most Statusbar Elements categories, General Category, and much more. And each one of them has loads of options to play with!
Note: Most of the things you see in the screenshots are controllable from Simplistic Control

Note: Make sure to check donors list inside Simplistic Control in the about section.
Well, we honestly hate asking for anything from users, and that policy won't change, we will ask nothing from you. Tho if you feel like you want to support our work, you are free to donate.
We assure you that all donations coming are for the ROM development, expanding our work to benefit the S2 is our biggest priority.

The ROM installation involves the same procedure that all ROMs use.
Important: The ROM will always be a non-wipe, so that the user has the right to choose, however, we almost always recommend a wipe except if you want to install an update pack.
Instructions:
*Download the Zip, don't extract it.
*Move the zip to the internal sdcard of your phone
*(Root Required) reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM)
*Use volume buttons and home or power button to navigate.Or use touch if you have the touch CWM. Choose Install Zip from sdcard.
* Then, Choose zip from internal sdcard. Navigate to the ROM desired, and select it.
*Highlight "YES" and confirm, then wait till it finishes
*Reboot and you're DONE! Wait till the phone boots.
NOTE: Do Not Fix Permissions, or else you will have problems.

OK first impressions abouthis rom:
Much much faster than any other 4.0.4 rom
Very smooth.
So far very stable.
I think that the team made a very good job.
I can say nothing about battery because its to soon for that.
One thing that its annoying (and this is personal) is the Jellybean contacts. There no option to delete all contacts at once, you have to delete them one by one. Also there no option to hide email contacts (you have to delete them).
So is there any way to have back the Samsung contacts?
This would be very helpful to me.
Well done one more time.
Thank you all for your great work.

Re: [ROM][Team WHOMP!] Whompasaurus Rom BETA [ALL4] 2/17/13
I saw you needed testers....i was waiting for a thread on it to show up so I can try something else.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Really can't wait to try this. THANKS!
Originally we were going to port the Sprint Rom because it would be easier since we didn't have the device, but we figured it would be better to provide a bug free rom with it based on Verizon. Neither me or Evolution have this device so all the feedback on the rom helps. This release has been tested by some already and a new one is in the works. One issue is the boot animations so far. It seems that Verizon may use a different method for getting boot animations working because we have tried a lot of methods to get it going with no luck. If you have any input let us know. Thanks guys!
Re: [ROM][Team WHOMP!] Whompasaurus Rom BETA [ALL4] 2/17/13
Goodness at all the options...I'll try this the next free day/ flash day that I have
Yup. I'll try this thing out. I can get you a nice review video once you get out of beta.

Sure would appreciate it. We have been hesitant to release because we want to only post stable builds but with out the device we had to compromise since we had a lot if requests asking for help porting it.

I'll tell you any bugs that I find. Always love a new ROM. Defiantly one with a sweet dinosaur. Haha.
After choosing my options, install went extremely quick (about 5-7 seconds) which kinda worried me. Seems to be stuck on the boot screen right now (not getting to bootani and softkeys aren't lighting up). I'll give it another 5 mins before I give up though.
EDIT: OK it's not booting. bummer
Re: [ROM][Team WHOMP!] Whompasaurus Rom BETA [ALL4] 2/17/13
What options did you choose in aroma? Btw I will have another build tomorrow if all goes well with the testing in the morning. Might be a little bumpy till we get out of beta but that is expected since we dont have the device.

Can't remember exactly but.. I chose all of the Red coloring options, 50% transparency (the only other option was no transparency), right hand clock, and left all of the other options as is (they were checked by default).
The install went way too fast though... I could pretty much tell that it didn't actually install correctly.

Nevermind. I'm stupid. I installed the MOD version because I read over it took quickly and thought that it was a non-standard install (I thought the first option was non-customizable and the second allowed for customization). I didn't realize that the second option is ONLY after having installed the ROM because I wasn't paying enough attention. I'm running the install again (I expect it should work properly this time). I'll report back in a few mins.

Alright everything went smoothly. Only things that I've noticed so far are the annoying GPS icon at the top can't be removed and the kernel install went a little wierd. I selected Perseus kernel but during the install it said that both Perseus and Saber were installed. When I went to check in About Phone it now says that Saber is installed
I also don't see the option for AOSP lockscreen anywhere.. (but perhaps I'm just not looking in the right place?)

This ROM is a collaboration of Team PATB members. Team PATB includes our testers, thread contributors, and anyone else that helps out in various ways. The Rats Of Anarchy is a group within PATB that are the ROM contributors including the Devs and Themers. We do our best to give credit where it is due and encourage user contributions to the ROM. If you have a skillset that you think could benefit the team, please shoot me a PM.
Our focus is on maintaining not only a unique ROM, but a complete unique user experience. We enjoy having fun behind the scenes, and we extend it to the thread. Users are encouraged to have fun and joke around as long as no one is offended and users with questions get addressed. We are not a uptight group that will bite your head off, but before asking questions it's always a good idea to read a few pages back.

GENERAL NOTES ABOUT 4.3
4.3, for some is great....for others, not so great. Its the base, not our fault, i wish it was perfect but its all we have. It has been good so far for me, and i hope its bug free for you aswell.
I do not use init.d scripts, ans i feel most of them are useless, i will not add or support init.d at any time, sorry.
CUSTOM SETTINGS NOTES
yes its included, NO most of it is not working ATM
only things working: hide blocking mode, vibrate, and bluetooth icons
I am working hard to get everything updated and will be posting updates as soon as i have more.
The Updater IS NOT included yet, everything will have to be redone, this is my first priority and am working on it currently

Looking awesome man!! (as always!) Glad you got this going for everyone. Another Team Nocturnal masterpiece.
DOWNLOAD link is LIVE!!!!
FYI, there is no visible boot animation, if you flash Faux kernel, you will then see the boot animation. Will be fixed soon.
ALSO!!! The ONLY thing in the updater safe to flash is themes EXCEPT for the return to default theme. If stuff stops working just dirty flash the rom for now. Thanks for the reminder RK2

For clarification purposes, I know with Goodness some things weren't working with Verizon just yet (Lockscreen options, themes, etc). Is everything working out of the box in this ROM?

Alliance Family - For everything. They helped jumpstart the beast in me.
@Naddict - For just being a great moderator. I appreciate the things he has done for me.
@PG101 - For granting me the opportunity to become a Recognized Contributor & giving me a chance
@dwitherell - For being THEE coolest and down to earth dev Ive met. I can send him a chat at 4am and he always has the answer. Personal XDA friend to me. He has guided me with several apps & mods and I can't thank him enough. Thank you Devon!
@icedventimocha - For the knowledge and ideas we throw at each other; very knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. Deserves more credit than he gets sometimes.
@Kryten2k35 - Without Kryten, AOSP/TW Hybrid is NOT possible. I owe him a ton of credit for his help, guidance, and patience. I Thank him for allowing me to merge and port some of his work into this rom.
@DSA - Thank you for his help with the AOSP Lockscreen & staying up at the late hours of the night with me to get it done! #AllianceFamilyLove
@BeansTown106 - For the tips and Stock MJ9 Base ROM.
@ForeverSupra - We have been close since I met him and definitely missed on the Verizon note 2. Endless chats and I hope I have been a great friend to him just as much as he has been to me.
@mikeyxda - Just recently spoke to him for the first time and always responded to me; credit him for the NoToggle, NoWake, and Emoji work.
@RomsWell @andrewjt19 - I will thank you two, personally, for the positive comments you have made in my alliance thread. Meant a lot.

Q: What is the best recovery to use to flash this?
A: I didn't have much luck using the latest TWRP before 2.8.0.0. Phils has worked great, but TWRP 2.8.0.0 may work just as well.
Q: I can't get MMS to send? Any solution?
A: Input your phone number into the messaging app to send MMS that way. You may have to use one of the known MMS fix methods (apn-conf) if you use another SMS app to send MMS. I honestly do not have a fix for that as it is possible something removed or merged could have messed that up. I noticed under about device, your phone number can say "Unknown". Have no idea why that is.
Q: There isn't a CSC.apk in the rom? Isn't that needed?
A: Yes and no. The missing apk is HERE. Feel free to add it under /system/priv-app. You will get a "com.android.phone has stopped" message TWICE after every reboot and then the problem will never come back until the next reboot. I could not get down to this issue so hopefully someone more skilled than me at reading a logcat and providing a fix can help out. I removed it and it doesn't seem to hurt or break anything else about the ROM.
From past research, it is needed to boot the rom & for APN editing but it doesn't seem to really be affected by not including it so far.
Q: How can I remove the "0" from the time?
A: Again, I will keep figuring that out. If it is that annoying, I guess you could try the Xposed Module "XuiMod".
Q: How can I get Inverted Contacts? Or vice versa?
A: There is an extra contacts app under /system/priv-app called "Contacts1.apk". Rename Contacts.apk to Contacts.apk1 or whatever and rename "Contacts1.apk" to Contacts.apk and Hot reboot. You will have 2 apps under the system.
Q: How can I hide one of the dialers?
A: Go into application manager and either "turn off" the dialer or google dialer. Simple as that.
Q: How can I change lockscreen wallpaper?
A: I haven't gotten around to finding a way except for using GravityBox. Works great for lockscreen and quick tiles.
Q: Why do I get a Link Bubble has been illegally modified and thus will not work reliably message?
A: This app was never modified. It was simply just added to system. Just uninstall using Titanium or root explorer and re-download.
I know this ROM isn't PERFECT, it will come with it's share of bugs. But I narrowed it down as much as I could to at least provide it as a daily driver and I think it is worthy of being a daily driver.
Also, GravityBox can be wonky! Stay cautious.
TrentsROM is based off 4.3 MJ9.
Stable, Simple, Sexy.
You add in the mods you want. It is pretty barebones with a real JellyBean/KitKat/Lollipop look & UI feel and not just a theme. If you are one to not care about so much about customization and mods built in, this is for you.
TrentsRom is a TRUE AOSP Experience on Touchwiz so If you are a fan of AOSP but want to retain touchwiz functions, this is for you. If you are living and can read this, this is for you.
Install The 4.3 MJ9 Firmware File via Odin If You Have Not Done So Already.
If you enjoy my work, ANY donation is appreciated as well as your Thanks. A ton of work and time has been put into these roms with a busy work schedule. Thank you.

Yeah after i let it sit for a while and google was done syncing everything back, it was just a tad bit snappier. Over the long run tho, you should see the difference compared to deodex. but either one was running fine. TBH, im barely testing odex right now. Been running my deodexed for a week.
Edit: After running it this morning, Odex so far is definitely snappy. Good news for me because I got scared for a moment.

Yes, im a huge fan of WWE. Theyre actually taping Smackdown literally right down the street from my house tonight in Ontario. I think im going to invade it so I can get my "YES" on. I need to be in the front row tho. Anywhere else is a waste of time to me.

This is correct. Its not enabled by default. Multi-window is. But if you want halo, the xposed module is included
Thank you guys. I was going for the EclipseROM type of look and feel, which if he hadn't stopped developing for the Note 2, that would be my default rom everyday and i wouldn't be making roms. But with Beans going in with Alliance Customization now, I felt a pure aosp rom was needed now for people like me. Im currently looking at ways to make this faster so any input is appreciated.
Will definitely give this a go tonight. Been wanting to try aosp and this is the best of both worlds
Downloading now. I was a fan of the eclipse roms as well. Really looking forward to this!

& I'll be uploading at least 5 New themes to use with gDux 4.3 in the next few days!
gogolie's Dux v1.0 Change Log - (Duxter23+)
*Updated existing applications
*This is the sickest theme I've seen come to Verizon. Via T10 and some of my own changes- thanks duxter!
*Beautiful themed keyboard(s) thanks @Shaftamle (comes loaded with Ghost Glass Keyboard) and Dux's blue (as seen in screenshots need to add on with mod install available below)
*Removed outdated updateme/romcontrol and converted apps that wouldn't be upgradeable to user apps so you can remove or upgrade
*Made work or added a working version of:
AutoAnswer (answer calls with a whistle good for the car), Online Nandroid (I never leave home without it), Extendable Notification Toggles, Greenify, Flash Player, Nova Launcher, Ad-Free, Xposed & Wanam, Dropbox, ES File Manager & ZPlayer
*Fixed Native Tethering / Added All Toggles (Thanks @Surge1223)
*Added a couple tweaks here and there
*Made compatible for PMS and future versions of (enabled custom boot/shutdown animations & sounds)
After I was finished doing what I felt should be done (my aim was the most rounded in terms of battery consumption, speed and stability). But I came out with the fastest ROM available for the Verizon S4 with better battery life than any other ROM I've seen. OH and that is with a fully themed beautiful Dark AOSP feeling ROM from head to toe. My favorite dialer / ROM now period. Every App that comes standard has been done over and visually improved. TRY IT EVEN IF YOU NORMALLY DON'T LIKE THEMES OR THEMED ROMS IT GROWS ON YOU VERY QUICKLY. I was never a fan of the "3d icons" but this made me believe that somethings are just meant to be. The icons just need to visually flow with the backgrounds matching apparently. Has every customization available or compatible for TW4.3 Roms and will beat any ROM you throw at it in any benchmarking test or battery life comparison test.
This has been pretty heavily tested and no bugs reported from testers. (besides if your using the original or full version you'll need to change or download the english language pack for the samsung keyboard in the Settings-Device Input- department. if that counts as a bug lol...)
gogolie's Dux Slim & Full Screenshots (these are 1.0 still havent got 1.1.1 online yet:
Installation:
1. Download your choice of ROM
2. Make Nandroid Backup of current system in Online Nandroid or Safestrap!
3. Install via TWRP or Safestrap any recovery should work. Just make sure that if theres an option like "enable old script" be sure and enable it.
4. If your on SafeStrap flash your modules (MK2 preferable) if on a different carrier flash a MARC pack and if your on an unsupported carrier or don't have my MARC pack then flash something similar to it if available or your APNS/Modem/Kernel.
5. Restart, give 5 minutes for ROM to load 1st boot. (Your following boot ups will take less than 20 seconds.)
6. Those that downgraded from 4.4.2 will have best results using an upgraded modem and bypasslkm. But Downgraders - upgrade again and check out the brand new gDux 2.0 for 4.4.2!!!!!
New Downloads (these 2 downloads are identical ROMs different bootanimations vote on either 1 or 2:
gDux v1.1.1 - Bootanimation V1
gDux v1.1.1 - Bootanimation V2
fUxter v1.0 (FoxHound DiamondDogs crossed with gDux is coming soon!)
Also check out gDux 2.0 for VZW 4.4.2 released today!
MARC Packs (MARC = Make Any ROM Compatible and Pack means its a flashable zip file to flash through custom recovery!)

TMobile Test 2
AT&T Test 3 SS MK2
AT&T Test 3 Non SS
You dont need to use a MARC pack if you are able to edit your own APNs and install a custom kernel (or stock if on Safestrap) the packs contain more of the files specific to each carrier but not necessary.
Old gDux v1.0 for 4.3 Downloads:

Believe the HYPE.
It is the fastest, and seriously wicked easy on battery with the best looking in my opinion theme available for 4.3 right now. If you know of better or want to argue these facts bring proof so we can all see just like the proof I've asked for when someone said my ROM that didnt flash a kernel bricked a device LOL funny stuff. the things people say to hide the truth from others for their own profit i tell ya...

sweet hope u went off the wall n chose gDux but let me know how you think it fairs. if your interested in trying the MDK MARC pack I'm not sure it'd apply to this rom but its goal is to Make Any Rom Compatible... its still test version 1 but thats because 2 of my testers said it "works great" and ive heard little more.
MDK MARC test version 1
40mb its kinda heavy I'd call it the full version might rip it down to essentials like basically apns if necessary
might as well post the other packs for carriers if anyones interested in trying all still work in progress no promises, shouldnt hurt anything, meant to be a 1 flash all should enable all toggles, fix native wifi tethering/wifi, flash apns / cscs, gps fix usa, might end up in a bootloop with some ROMs. So if you cant figure out how to escape a bootloop or reflash/format forget about it.
