So first and foremost 'I am a noob' and not sure if this is the right place but I consider this a question, with that said I shall explain my issue.
I have changed the firmware on my S3 to 4.2.2 and it was almost successful minus the lack of being able to connect to a carrier.
I have reverted back to 4.0.x and 4.1.x and i still have no service. I am with T-mobile UK and have seen on a nexus 4 based thread that an issue was that t-mobile doesn't work properly on the latest radio version so i flashed that to .27 (the recommended version on said thread) to no avail (I'm thinking maybe this only works for the Nexus 4?).
When i check available networks i get EE, 3 UK, O2 - UK, Vodafone UK, EE. Knowing that t-mobile and orange are now EE i assume the 2 EE options are just renamed from those, however when i select either option I get 'No service, selected network (EE) unavailable'.
I've also spoken to T-Mobile who essentially told me to go *profanity* myself and talk to Samsung... haven't spoken to Samsung yet.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

1st 7 are 0049990. How can I tell if it is intact?
Also Mobile data and roaming ARE turned on
Edit: just took out my battery and seen a different IMEI number first 7 being 3559940... is that going to mean bad things are in store for me?

Not good I'm afraid...your IMEI has become corrupted/deleted, 0049990 is a default one and that won't register on the network.
Did you back up your efs folder before you installed 4.2.2?

You have no EFS backup then all you can try is flash stock rom via Odin .
Fails its a service centre paid for repair .

Can you recommend any? the ones I have tried didn't seem to work.
Edit: Now that I know about the IMEI fault I looked for a solution and found this webpage but I can't test it because there is a broken link there just wanted to know if you think this could work.

That's a different variant of the S3 so I personally wouldn't recommend using that approach.
Get in touch as I suggested in the PM and I'll see if I can help.
Sorry for dropping out of contact, my dad took the phone and insisted he would solve the issue (which he didn't) so when I get home from work today i can start trying to fix it again. Obviously my warranty is voided so T-Mobile telling me to go to Samsung was stupid but i found out I got my contract from carphone warehouse which I forgot (thought i went direct to T-Mobile) and apparently they'll fix it for me... i doubt that very much.
Also I have an S4 now but still want to fix the S3 as i planned for it to be an upgrade for my mum (she needs an upgrade badly)

Hi All,
I have some problem with my network connectivity. Since I bought my Galaxy s3, the network disappears so I'm not able to make any call. I have to restard my mobile to get network back. Some people told me that it is a baseband problem (as I'm in Belgium and my mobile comes from France) so I changed it but I got the same problem but less often.
Can you guys tell me where the problem comes from?
Thank you very much!!

More likely sim card problem or network itself check with your network .
Backup data and factory reset the phone or check for updates via OTA or KIES .

Hi,
I tried it already and it did work for 1 or 2 days and it's coming back again. My sim card was pefectly working with my former phone.
Concerning the updates, everything has been done and i'm now running on Omega v9.1
After all of thatm is it a technical or material problem?
Thanks!!

Omega is not a factory rom so that could be the problem or the modem .
Suggest wipe phone remove rom counter to zero with Triangle |Away flash stock rom and test fails return to service center .

Problem persist only on wcdma or also on GSM mode?
Wysyłane z mojego GT-I9300 za pomocą Tapatalk 2
Okay. So this isnt 100% confirmed to work but sometimes it does for me. Install the rom u like. Most roms have modems that are suited for most countries so ull be okay on that part. Whe it says no service make sure its no internet and not no service. Then reboot into recovery fix permissions wipe dalvik do whatever u want haha then go to options and then more then clturn on airport then turn it off.
For those with the no service status it either could be talking a while to kick in due to a bad/unsuitable modem with ur rom or u need to find one that suits you. Here are a few helpful links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
there are other links too to explain modems in details. So just give it a lil search and ull be okay
HI,
I have read all the other threads I can find on this subject but cannot find an answer, I purchased a GT-19300 from Ebay (don’t laugh) it worked great for a couple of weeks, then I updated it with stock JB upgrade from ICS, and now it will not register on the network, I have re flashed it returned it stock, re flashed it, checked all the settings I can find, tried other sim cards from the same network and other networks, all with the same result, it shows the network in the network status screen, gives signal strength, I have checked the basic settings with another phone and all are the same. the phone is unlocked, all I did was update to Android 4.1.1 I have also since downloaded a modem rom and flashed that, did not make a difference. Device state is Normal, but the serial number is 000000000000 I am in the UK and my network is orange, but as I said I have tried an O2 sim as well with the same result. Please help!! Thanks

I Downloaded a stock rom from SamMobile (I installed with odin) and no longer connect to the mobile network
(January 2013 4.1.2 I9300XXELLA I9300OXFELL1)
I reinstalled the original ROM (all of SamMobile) and now can not connect at all to the mobile network
(January 2013 4.1.2 I9300XXELLA I9300VFGELL3)
I tried with (pacman rom) and still do not want to find the mobile network (everything else works)
in the SamMobile download is a dll should be placed somewhere? where?
what I did wrong and how to fix?

please can you be more specific?

R: network not work
To check imei go to settings>about>phone state (raw translation from italian but it cant be too different). I believe glebun is suggesting u seriously f***ked up ure phone, so u should check what imei u got and post it here.
In this phone (gs3) some things about the network are closely connected to the kernel...such as mac address...
have u tried chamging it before? Or changing phone's network name or ip?
try flashing a different kernel...also you've never touched the phone's modem before right?

Check your APN settings match your carriers aswell...

Google "how to check imei". how hard is that?
Check also the modem version, if the one provided with the new Rom is not compatible with your phone networks it can explain it. Even if afaik jb modems are less sources of issues than ics ones. Most of the time custom roms come without modem.
There is a modem correction thread in general section.
But first check that your imei was not wiped.
Type *#06# on the stock dialer.
If the IMEI has been wiped, it's the EFS problem then. Only service centre. Don't think you could solve it youself
Hello everyone! I have a problem with my s9+ DUOS SM-G965F. I cannot make any call. The carrier is showing, but the signal is dropping.. and then I get not registered on network. I tried:
1. Reset network settings
2. Factory data Reset
3. 2 SIMs different carriers(is not locked), both sims works on another phone.
What can I do? Maybe hardware problem? If hardware, what can be? What piece of hardware? Thank you!
On dialer put: *#06#
If IMEI = 0000000000000 then you can't get a working line because you don't have IMEI.
Cheers.

Did you purchase your mob new or 2nd hand?
I wonder if the hone is blocked / reported lost or stolen in Your country?
Type *#06# and make a note of the IMEI then paste it into https://imei24.com/blacklist_check/
You can also consider flashing the stock firmware via odin. You can download it for free from sammobile
I bought it 2nd hand, I have 2 IMEI s and none of those IMEI are blacklisted. I got the phone to a service and told me it wasn't unlocked properly.

No, it was a hardware problem. A common thing on the s9. I sold the phone.
@cpanait69 I have the exact same problem but it happens like 70% of the time. Started happening since 7 months. Not really sure what to do with this phone now.
As the title says, I erased IMEI last summer, and been waiting for fix since then. The only problem is that my battery drains because its missing.

Latest Octopus Tool have added support to recover the IMEI of Lg V60 and you can go to repairing shop who have these paid tools. It will cost you around 30-50 USD and I believe you will get back your IMEI.

your IMEI will never get erased in the efs folder on modern android devices. if you know your IMEI no you quickly fix it through FTM

You can't repair the IMEI through the FTM partition for the AT&T variant.Believe me,I have tried countless hours and it doesn't work!Octopus Box is supposed to have a working method, but I haven't seen any proof as of yet! There is a so called working fix for the T-mobile variant, but never tried it.

Yes,I think Houtoo was having the same issues and he was doing it without the box with Korean firmware.I did find a T-Mobile IMEI repair, but you have to roll it back to A10 and re-write the partitions.I have it saved, but no T-Mobile variant to try it on.I have a USC V60 which is crossflashed with AT&T firmware I guess I could try it on?!?The USC and the T-Mobile version is basically the same phone firmware and hardware wise.

That's a good possibility!I'm in the states, and we currently can't use any custom roms because of the IMS settings from the carriers at the moment.AT&T is the worst! They went through their little 3g sunset b.s. and wiped out a bunch of unlocked, and non-AT&T sold devices so they can't use VoLTE.
