[Q] Identification of this android device? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Hi everybody,
I bought a 2-din android based dvd/etc player for my car - basically a touch screen radio.
However, I've been having serious issues with the radio resetting itself and restoring the built-in firmware - don't know if it's somewhere written in non-volatile RAM - anyhow, support has been quite marginal from the seller.
I've gotten a screen dump from CPU-Z but doubt whether it's enough info, I don't know... and seems I'm not able to post a link yet?
Can anybody perhaps help with pointers, etc? I have no idea where to start looking for alternate firmware, etc. etc. etc.
Thank you for all the help!
Tinus

Replace system launcher permanently
Hello, I managed to bork the dafault launcher of my phone. Is it possible to recover? More importantly, can I permanently replace the default launcher by one of the launchers from the play store? By permanently, I mean even after I restore to factory settings, I get the new launcher. Use titanium back up....download your favorite launcher, delete your stock launcher with titanium and thats it .... Sent from my C5170 using xda premium
Well to keep the new launcher between factory resets you need to make it a system app. There are many ways to do this but if you are using tb I believe there is an option for this. Otherwise use adb, terminal emulator, update.zip, root explorer (just make sure to chmod the proper permissions) Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Thanks guys. Managed to do it. Now i can chose at the start(after a factory reset).
using titanium backup i successfully replaced my stock launcher with go launcher ...
