Anyone know of any apps that can create ringtone profiles. Similar to what Blackberry had a few years ago, and maybe still does. Basically I am hoping to find something with different ringtone profiles so I can assign a profile to individual contacts that will ring through while keeping everything else silent... Please help

Ok i need to assign ringtones and message alerts for a particular group of contacts lets say hypothetically the group is called "My little black book" and i'm getting fed up of explaining the odd cherp late at night. any help would be great and help me sleep better. JC55
I can assign different ringtones to certain people in my contacts. I've done it so when I hear this ringtone I know its her... ^^
So, I dont know for sure what you mean but your contacts has the option to assign ringtones to different people.
I am just wondering if anyone can hook me up with an audio file of, or let me know where I can find, the mailbox notification tone that (I think) is common in Android 2.3.. I can't remember exactly what it's called, but I'm pretty sure it's called something like mailbox.. I used it for my email notification tone, but after upgrading to Cyanogen 9, it's no longer in the default tones list! :O..

OK, I have searched high and low for anyone having this issue, and have found a few posts that are similar to the problem I am experiencing but not quite the answer I am looking for.
I am a happy Galaxy Note owner, who did the upgrade to ICS through my carrier, which is Rogers, up here in Canada. I am having issues with my ringtones. It appears I cannot switch my ringtone for individual contacts, after installing the update. I am able to choose my ringtone in the contact menu with no problem, but for some reason, it reverts back to the main/default ringtone I have chosen as a general ringer. I am able to change out the ringtone for the phone itself, with either the preinstalled tones, or tones that I have installed manually, I just can't get them to work for individual contacts. Everything was working fine while I was on GB, but no dice on ICS. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried changing the tones to different folders and such, and the ringtones I want are showing up in the ringtone menu but will not take effect, even after a reboot. Any suggestins would be appreciated.

stock Contact app?
A friend of mine had the same problem and we found they were using an alternative Contacts app that didn't work. Are you using the stock contact app to assign the ringtones?

Yes, I'm using the stock contacts app. I've tried everything, but I may have sorted it out. It looks like there is something wrong when u do it by the contact menu. I seem to have one working now, but haven't had any phone calls since. I had to manually add it to the media>audio> notifications folder. I hope it works, I should know tomorrow!
Hey all. Just noticed that all my ringtones I set for specific contacts are not working. When they call my default ringtone plays. I've already tried using all the custom ringtones set as default ringtone with no problem and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the file names or types.
Anyone else having problems with this or mind giving it a shot to see if its not just me. Thanks
I have the same problem. Don´t know how to fix it
Finished setting up my new V10 and I just noticed that all contacts have a main ringtone 'af_failure' which is barely audible. Worse is that I cannot edit the ringtone in each contact for some reason. Contacts are from Google and Exchange, ,and both are affected. Only work around I found is turning on Ringtone ID which selects a different ringtone that I cannot find how to change. The default ringtone in Settings> Sounds is VZW Airwaves (for now at least). My first LG also. I have no issue editing my contacts ring tone.
Fixed it. I simply had to go in the sounds choose a new ring tone, then select the one I wanted. All contacts now have the default. Kinda weird but as long as it works now
