[Q] ViperRom issue - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi and thank you for allowing me to ask questions.I instaleed viperrom after having maximus7 on my htc one. Now I have browser issues. with chrome it seems to freeze up. Is this because I'm on AT&T model and the rom's for 4.2.2 ? I'm a little confused. Also My battery drains like crazy.Even with everything turned off. Seems to me that with all the cool stuff that comes with this rom-> we have to pay in one way or another. My Question is Do I Have to w8 for AT&T to give an update for 4.2.2? Or is it just a rom issue? Thank you for your answers.
I really loved the VenomRom and thanks TeamVenom for building such an amazing UI and it's rly gr8t but the battery--> needs improvements

Share the great features of ICS

Hi everyone
So, the ICS for our beloved S2 is out and everyone seems happy about it.
However, after all this wait, I installed it on my SGS2 and did not see big difference or great features compared to the 2.3.5.
So, I wonder if you guys can share your experience with the ICS and tell us about the great features that we can not see.
Thanks so much

Great features of ICS ?
That it's causing people to mindlessly start threads about issues that don't have anything even remotely to do with development (given this is stock firmware that has been released/people are flashing) without thinking of a possible solution on their own for a moment, or without using a bit of logic and first considering what fixes a problem in GB might well fix the same problem in ICS.
Yes, I'm joking when I say it's a 'feature' (maybe). :-|
To be fair, I love the new update, but i'm not on stock, i'm using DarkyRom.
The face unlock works well for me, and I like it, keeps my pesky mates going through my phone. Battery life is good, 10 hours and it's still at 60% with basic to strong usage.
The GUI is better on DarkyRom than Stock Samsung imo.
3G speeds have increased for me, just feels much quicker and responsive. Wifi is the same as GB though. Browsing speeds seem to of been increased. overall I like it. One thing I would like is volumefix, but will wait till CM9 is officially released or something simillar.
Better multitasking and stock ics ui

Hello Everybody!

New to the 3d but not to rooting. I'm not a developer by any stretch but I can monkey button and follow instructions. I've rooted a Moment and an Evo Shift 4G and with Revolution Root this was really painless. I do have to say that even with their Superwipe (which I use all the time, really nice ) Roms had some issues like heat and reboot during Nav. Anyway, tried the latest Mean Rom next, had issues with hot phone and battery drain. Then tried Infected 3.5, really nice, except no Opera mobile support. Anyway, currently running Warm TWOPOINTTHREE Deodex and its running really nice. Phone stays cool, all the apps and functions seem to work, probably stick with this for a while.
I am in now way bashing any of the developers or their product. Everybody's rooting experience is different and I really appreciate everybody's efforts. Can't wait to see a stable Cyanogen release.
Hello and welcome! That wouldnt be Oak Ridge, TN ,would it?

[Q] {Q} ARHD 4.3 problems (slow screen unlock, cannot hang up the phone etc)

Hey guys,
so i searched for 4.3 problems like this and i found something but vaguely so deicided to post a question.
So i have installed this new rom 4.3 on international galaxy s3 i9300,so i installed ARHD v40 and tried bioth kernels that i get in aroma.
howerevr i am having pain in the ass like problems with lokcing/unlocking the phone, general slowness and cannot hang up the phone sometimes...
also sometiemes it takes alot of time to unlock so if i need my phone quickly i gert near crash into a wall kidnd of a stage.
so i need help, do i revert to older rom or how do i fix this?
thanks in advance
Use developer mode in settings ,you can find "show cpu usage" and tick the checkbox. After that you can see processes on the top-right of the screen. Find out which one is always on the top, or if the blue color too much it's an iowait problem.
Makes more sense to ask in the roms thread .
Yea but the rom replies are happening every day and alot of them so the question gets pushed to older pages and doesnt get respond so i asked here.
Anyway i got the thing cleared i installed boeffla v2 kernel and set to zzmove and now it is much faster but still slow sluggish 4.3 on galaxy s3 so now i am searching to go back to older stock roms, any suggestions where i can get those older roms? Sammobile has only new i think?
Thanks for reply in advance

That's because your ROM is still on the earliest version of 4.3 which was the worst update for our phone yet.. Change over to other ROM out rather adj any other fellow user of your ROM how are they getting smooth performance..
If you are thinking of changing ROM
Do consider neat ROM.. Or hypersonic rom...

Help: Extreme lag and screen stuttering issues with CyanogenMod 11 on HTC One X+

I just bought a brand new HTC One X+ a few days ago for a really good price on eBay. Immediately after receiving it, I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, flashed CWM and installed the latest CyanogenMod 11 snapshot. To my surprise, the device lags and sometimes freezes for minutes in completely simple tasks like pulling down notifications or typing on the keyboard. I've tried a lot of stuff, but nothing has worked so far.
I'm convinced this can't be a problem with the phone, the specs are too good for it to lag in such simple things. I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S III with a CM11 nightly and that didn't have any lag even though the specs were technically lower. Also, another problem I'm experiencing is that the screen "blinks", as in it has a sort of stutter effect which is really annoying. I don't know whether this has to do with CM or with the phone itself, but the blinking problem doesn't happen in recovery or fastboot mode.
Is there anyone who can help me figure out why this is happening? Thanks.
Is there anyone who can help me? I need my phone to be functional as soon as possible, thanks

Flash Nik3r's kernel. You will find it in the android development section.
Also running a huge amount of apps will screw with the device, and a reboot now and again doesn't hurt

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I will try it out. Also, really nice job with that Pure AOSP 4.3 ROM. I've been trying it and it's really smooth and fast.

Use EliteKernel, it will be much more faster. For me the stock CM kernel is troublesome, phone lags, battery drains, and heat up the phone quite much.

[Q] Will there ever be a stable version of CM for HTC One X+

I bought the HTC One X+ international version for the tegra3 and 64gb capacity.... but it seems like there are hardly any roms which are fully functional. I am currently using the Venom ViperX+ ROM... and it SUCKS... terrible rom.. slow as all hell... mad problems with maps and force closes in general.... I am about to switch to Android Revolution HD because it is the only rom that even seems like it has a chance at working fully. There have been all these projects forever CM10.2, CM11, and now I see there is one for CM12... what is the point if none of them work correctly???
Could anyone recommend a stable rom?

Go back to fully stock if you want a truely stable ROM, else CM11 on my HOX+ is consider fully functional already. Small bugs which I encountered which is FM radio not working, Video record only in 3GP format. But that does not bug me because I rarely use those feature.

Wow...how about you help out? Or say what your having issues with? Or how about you make your own ROM and release it? Then everyone can tell you how awful it is.
Sure, Let's click the "Create Stable ROM" button.
That's not how ROM development works buddy. It's not as easy as you think specially not for the HOX+.
You see, Developers on here don't get paid for the ROMS they make. They mostly make it for fun in their free time they're not obliged in ANY WAY to provide you with ROMs.
So if you have nothing nice to say then you better stay quiet
Oh and I tried ViperX+ ROM a long time ago and it was running fine for me
Plus its your fault for buying a 2 years old device without checking if it had ROMS or not.
ok... sorry... i didn't mean to sound rude... honestly... I was just getting irritated with my phone lagging out in the viper rom...
I didnt mean to offend anyone... especially you Lloir... cuz I know you've done alot of work on here...
I apologize once more...
Lloir's 4.3 AOSP works great as does Omni. Carbon great too. Those are good to try before that first impression goes pear shaped. Oh, it did already. Oops.
