just for future reference, error 140 is the error you get when the ruu you try to flash is older than the one on the phone. You must downgrade via goldcard first if you want to go to 1.5 from 2.1 (for example).
I know this from past experience, when you couldn't root 2.1 I tried to flash a 1.5 ruu.
