[Q] As MT11a rooting 4.0.2.A.0.62 Xperia Neo v?

Hello friends, sorry for my poor English .. I've been reading quite rooteo methods for this phone, but from what I saw for the model are all MT11i, and mine is MT11a .. My question is this, I can follow the same rootearlo tutorials? No 3G I lose in the process? (My team is Argentina Movistar) Once rooteado what I can upgrade to ICS and re rootearlo? Right now the team is with version 2.3.4
Thank you!
Greetings!
Same instructions goes for both versions, i and a.
If you are on locked BL, .62 can't be rooted directly. There is a thread how to root .62, look for it.
There is also a thread how to root ICS.
If you are on unlocked bootloader, then you can root any fw you want.

Xperia NEO 0% battery issue , and "anowing bootloader unlock= NO"

HI, I wanted to root an Xperia Nei mt15i, i found an article with a step by step guide ,which said downgrade the firmware to 2.3.2 then gingerbreak etc etc, and well now the phone says that the battery is empty, and i cant install a custom firmware becouse i cant unlock the bootloader, so i cant get in fastboot mode, anyone can help please?
To root you dont need unlocked bootloader.
follow this guide
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239
Flash .42 firmware NOT .62
then root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312859
After that use Over the air update to have latest .62 firmware or if you dont care stay with .42
You will be rooted with locked bootloader
(BE CAREFUL YOU NEED XPERIA NEO FIRMWARE NOT XPERIA NEO V!!!)

Thanks, and will this fix the battery issue?? Ive downloaded the 4.0.2.A.0.42 firmware from the site you wrote, but in flashtool it seems "empty" no firmware content, and nothing in the other columns...:S
Where did you read that you need to downgrade to 2.3.2??
Now you killed your battery gauge and it's unrecoverable hardware failure. Only permanent fix is replace in service shop.
There are some custom kernels which have 0% fix, there is even fix for locked BL's, for more information read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312398
If your phone is under warranty, you can try giving it for repair under warranty.

If I were you, I would stay on gingerbread, cause it's more stable, etc.
If you want to update look here for the rom ftf and for flashtool here.
But flashing voids warranty, so better try to update via for example seus, for that look here. It's the official sony tool and maybe with this you can update.
May I ask where are you from, because it should be available via pc companion...
If you want rooted ics you will have to do it with this tutorial
first say u helped me a lot, . and im from bangladesh. i tried to update my phone using pc companion that i got in the free 2gb mmc, .and also tx for the advice, i got that many user have prblm in ics

[Q] About Flashtools, FTF and PCC/SEUS

Hello everybody!
I'm a Brazilian user of Xperia Neo. I tested a Custom ROM yesterday, but i don't know I was wrong, but my Neo don't booting (Xperia HD Ultimate and Jelly Dream ROMs). With no choice (because the Neo not boot the Android), I was repair my smart with SEUS, but his say: your smart has a last Android Version. I tried to repair with PCC, but the servers of Sony are inavaliable in this moment.
So, I flash a Kernel e Firmware (4.1.B.0.431 boths) in my Neo, wherever, this version is a GLOBAL (Flashtools says). I'm a Brazilian user, so:
-No have problem to use a other firmware (Global) im my Brazilian Neo?
-The S.I. Number is a number of Software or Hardware? When the servers go up, I'll repair my Neo with PCC (This smart is new, no have a unlock BL (I GUESS))?
Thanks!
And sorry for my bad english, I afraid to lose my phone.
Reason why you got bootloop
Neo users have to flash neo v ftf to increase their system size.
Now
You can download ftf file of neo and flash it using flashtool. Read sticky threads. Or else search in neo general.
Dont ask for links please as u have to search urself.
