Hello everyone.
I have been using Tasks ROM for a while now. Last night my phone had a random reboot and other than that, no troubles.
Well about 20 minutes ago, my phone just turned off and will NOT come back on at all. I have done nothing different, cant get in to get a logcat or lastkmsg. It will not even boot up to the samsung screen.
It will vibrate when I plug it in or take out the battery and reput it in.
The only response I am getting is taking everything out (batter/sim/sd) and plugging it into my comp. The response is a Red light in the notification LED and a short vibrate, then nothing.
Edit: I get a Samsung logo if I just pull battery and reinsert.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Last night I was on my phone, enjoying my newly flashed MUII rom when suddenly my phone shut off. I was expecting this to happen since my battery was very low, but now my phone wont charge or turn back on. When I plug in the charger, it seems as if the power cycles from displaying the charging battery logo for one second, and then shutting of for 3 seconds, then repeat endlessly. I have had it plugged in for quite a while now, with no change. This is the battery that came with my phone.
Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix it?
Any help is much appreciated.
I had this problem before too and didnt come back alive no matter what i did... as a last resort i popped the back cover off, took the battery off and let it chill for like 30 sec popped it back in and walla~ it worked, hopefully it works for you as well
I will give this a try. Thanks

Well it is no longer in it's endless loop. It seems like it might be charging now. thank you
I've had that happen with miui on my HTC g2. Not sure why it kept happening but taking the battery out and pressing the power button will discharge the remaining stored power on the device like a PC, (you may even see the screen flash slightly) and
you should be able to boot again immediately.
Note you can't have it plugged in when doing this

Thanks for your help. My phone is working just fine now.
Hi,
My phone suddenly went into a bootloop one day a couple of weeks back. The Samsung logo would come on for a couple of seconds and then disappear. Then I tried to plug the phone in via USB and then it gave me a weird loop where the battery icon would appear with a loading sign and then disappear.
I searched a lot of threads and some of them pointed towards a solution via a USB Jig. I ordered one and plugged it in following instructions.
On the screen, I could see the downloading sign with "Do Not Turn Off Target" under it. But this screen would also just flash for a couple of seconds and then go on a loop.
Any advice will be much appreciated! It's kind of a desperate situation because the phone is no longer under warranty.
Thank you!
I made a video because the problem is kind of hard to visualize.
i´m not sure, but it looks like a hardware problem.
A kind of instability or something.

Last night i fell asleep and my phone died all the way, and now when i plug it in all i get is a lg logo then it goes away and then a dark lit up screen. ive let it charge for awhile now and i still get nothing, i cant get into cwm either.. the phone is unlocked and rooted and im running the base rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Happened to me... leave it on the charger at least 3 hours and check it. The battery completely drains when you unplug the charger if you charged with the phone off. gl
Edit: If it still won't work, turn phone on and plug in charger.

This happened to me too. I completely drained the battery and it kept going into a loop (black screen, LG logo, battery screen). I left it plugged in and off and let it boot up.
FYI
This has happened to several people. I have confirmed through testing, even exchanging my phone 2 days ago that this is an issue created when unlocking the bootloader. Rooting does not cause it. Once the bootloader is unlocked, you can not get around this by re-locking the bootloader.
The workaround is simple. Either leave your phone on while it is charging or if you charge with phone off, unplug your charger and hit the power button- you will still see the charge animation running- this is what causes the battery to drain. All you have to do is power up the phone at least to boot then it is ok to turn off. You can confirm it worked by touching the power button again and not see the charge animation. Hope this helps.
Wow thanks so much for the reply and help! I've got it working now and I guess I'll just avoid it by not letting it die lol

well...
If you let it die all the way, its not a big deal. Plug it in, hold down the volume down button and the power button for 15 seconds, then it will work fine.
Threads like this makes this forum so great. Another potential problem to be avoided when using the phone.

I could use some help guys, if this thread isn't too old. I've searched high and low to the answer here and nothing is working. I've tried download mode, fastboot, recovery, reset, holding power down, plugging it in and unplugging it. I've pulled the plate off of the battery, tried LGNPST, drivers, etc. No go on anything.
The phone is still dead, and will not turn on. The best I've gotten is a solid red light after holding the power button for 15-20 seconds. Then after about 3-5 seconds it resumes flashing (alternating between the red light and the key buttons). If I continue holding the power button down it will repeat this, showing solid red and then reverting to flashing.
I can not get the screen to display anything, not even the charging animation, and none of my computers will even recognize the device. I've been messing with it all day and I'm stuck. If anyone can help me, at all, please do. I hate going to Sprint. Anything but that, please.

Hi guys,
Hoping there are some experts out there who have more wit and experience than I do with my phone :-/
Something very peculiar just happened to me. I got a Samsung Galaxy S Advance from my company, but since I have another phone I decided to upgrade it to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 using Odin to root it. Just like the poster above, Odin said "PASS" but didn't reboot my phone. Not even a flicker on the screen. When I try to boot it myself I see no activity that the phone is even charged or anything. The battery is charged, so I have no clue what could be wrong. What I've tried so far:
1)
Unplugged it and tried to boot it normally, didn't work. No sign of life.
2)
Took the battery hour for 1h+, boot normally, didn't work. No sign of life.
3)
Took the battery out for some time again, boot into download mode, didn't work. No sign of life.
4)
Take the battery out, put it in again. Hold down volume UP and volume DOWN simultaneously, power on. Didn't work
NOTE! When the phone is plugged into my PC and I do this, the computer makes a beep indicating something is being recognized as plugged into the computer, a second later it makes a beep indicating something was unplugged... nothing more happens.
Please help. I'm rather new to Android phones, and I would appreciate any assistance
Thank you

I just unlocked the bootloader on my Android device & rooted the device. After that, I installed SwitchMe application. It was working for some hours.
But, after sometime, the phone stopped working and is not booting up, nor is it booting up in any mode. Could I receive some help? The phone can be booted up by some method or something?
Please reply asap. Thanks in advance.
Maybe low battery? Did you try charging your phone?

My phone has been kept on charging for more than 9 hours. No response yet. It just shows Orange LED when it's on charge. And, sometimes after I long press the power button. It vibrates around 6-7 times and gives no response.
Any help? ASAP.
