Is this phone different than all the others? Lelus method doesn't seem to work. Gets stuck at check internet connection. I tried to offline flash the same kdz and bin provided by Kuna but it will not go farther than the internet check. . Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. .

I don't have the time to break it all down to you yet, but the problem must be in your host file. Sorry I'll try to help some more later. Pleas share all steps you did, so I can better solve your problem.

I changed the host file, I ran the small server, I ran the B2Capp in admin mode, I ran the marwin app.Everything in admin mode. I followed the Lelus procedure to a T. My phone is the metropcs L9 v10.b and im trying to run your kdz and bin to root. Its the same kdz as my L9. 4.1.2. This way of rooting is very new to me. And a bit confusing at first.
Try removing the R & D program, and delete the folder LGMOBILEAX (found in C:\ProgramData\ )
Then redownload the R & D (plus the shttps) and setup with anti-virus & firewall off.
When you say it gets stuck, you mean the program freezes?

You might have better luck on another computer

Naa it doesnt freeze. It goes to the check your internet box. I hit close and thats it. It goes no further. Almost as if it isnt even looking at the host file. Im thinking its definitely a communication error somewhere.

No I didn't unlock the bootloader yet. From the guide I thought it said I had to root before I unlock the bootloader? Unless I read that wrong.

I had a similar issue as well. I uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled them and it solved the problem. Try doing that and see if it was the problem.

You will need to downgrade with lgnpst to root. It is in topic at top of page on irc.
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=lg-optimus-g
Yeah you will my bad also I don't know what i was thinking lol but I ran into that same problem and I restored back to like the day I got it and then rooted it and it worked just fine lol Some time's its just like that
Hop into the IRC to get the link to LGNPST so that you can downgrade. I think theres links in the other threads like the conversion, to get the link to the stock firmware. LGNPST is not hard to use, just make sure you have all the correct drivers installed and its quick and painless
I tried to rooting. But phone did not reboot, but it loses cell net.
I reboot it manually and phone now turns on screen for a half second and turns off. And I can not use it (unlock screen is not working).
I can run it in download mode. So what can I do? Download stock ROM and flash it? BTW, what app I need to flash stock ROM?

Power+vol down does not reset (I tried all combination: VolUp+Power, VolDown+Power, VolDown+VolUp+Power, only last one works).
Updated: Thanks! Power+vol down almost a minute holdin resets data. Now phone is working normal.
Question: I also tried to root on E97011c and it got stuck after the restore part and nothing happened. Does this mean nothing was put on my phone? Is it possible it could become messed up now?
I don't remember accepting any ota but I'm rooted and unlocked and I am on software e90711c , I don't know if a ROM changed it or what, but I followed the guide and used the free gee app on play store to unlock boot loader. Not sure if this helps in anyway, but like I said I managed to do it and don't recall accepting any ota.

The root method works, sounds like you need to educate yourself on how to use ADB correctly.

I have tried to go into recovery notta.......there was an image recovery downloaded. SHOULD I HAVE USED CWM????
Your bootloader wasn't unlocked. Use Odin to flash back to stock and make sure your bootloader is unlocked before flashing clean rom.

Odin is reconizing the drivers cause there is 'com' number so from what i understand the drivers are installed.
Heres my problem , Odin is going down the checklist (or whatever it is doing) when it gets to the sboot.bin it stops and says
< ID: 0/005'Complete write/ operation failed'
<OSM> All threads completed (succeed 0 / fail 1)
I would assume the ID is bc the 'com' nuber was 5
I think i have found evry thread out there to try and fix this via Odin.....but you guys are the experts
I dont know what else to do P L E A S E help all I want it to be is restored------
I downloaded the correct drivers directly from samsung
I had the same error /problem after installing twrp without realizing my bootloader was still locked. I followed the instructions in this link (1b directions) and flashed back to 4.1.1. Then took the 4.1.2 update and used Adams casual utility to root and unlock. I'm not an expert by any means but this worked for me.

Also make sure to use the "Alternate Restore" file as it does not contain the bootloader. It's a. Xz file and you will need to unzip it with 7zip or something else.

Yea I saw this thread- bottom line which download do I take? the : Official VRALJB 4.1.1 12/9/12
or: Root66 stock VRALJB 4.1.1 12/2/12
and Im not sure of the "alternate restore" file you are referring to...Im sorry
I am not an expert either....especially with the note II since I just got it via 3rd party SWAPPA bc of not wanting to loose my unlimited data. I was told it was unlocked and obviously I was F'd
Also- I saw this thread last night I downloaded the (Official VRALJB 4.1.1 12/9/12) and did the instructions to the "T" and still got failed-did I miss something...
I hope you or some others are out there to help me ....I would love to get this up and running
On the thread with the official there is a download link below the official and mirrors titled Alternate Restore. It doesn't contain the bootloader and I believe that is the file you need to use. If your bootloader is locked odin fails at the point where the file you're downloading tries to download the new bootloader, hence the need for the file without the bL. Does that make sense?

here are the steps. Flash root66 which will bring back your note to life and the software would be 4.1.1. Use Jailbreak tool to unlock the bootloader and you will be golden.

Yes it sorta does (i am still learning) and WOW i read the the bold print about the alternate restore but never ever saw the download file ( i wasnt looking)

That is what I did. I read about the method droidxrooting said but can't personally speak for it (but I'm sure it works too). If you use the file I used just remember to unzip it even though it's not labeled a zip file and make sure you use the correct casual method.

OK- I am downloading it ...still (waiting) (and it seems on all of downloads on my 64 bit laptop windows 7)that the files get unziped when they show up in my download files folder-do you find that too....or
btw- rashone i want to aske did you also put the file (SCH-I605_16gb.Pit) in the PIT section like it was suggested???
My files were in dl folder too after unzipping. It seems like I flashed the pit file too becuase I had it on my computer. I believe I had to check the repartition box in odin when using the pit file too. I was about to throw my phone before doing this so hopefully it works for you too...
