Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is any way to hide your original Home screen according to the password (PIN or Pattern).
For example: your main PIN-password to unlock your phone is "1234". When you put the "1234" password it unlocks your phone and shows you the main Home Screen of your phone.
But if in the Lock Screen you put another PIN (let's say it would be "5678"), your phone will also be unlocked but it shows you a completely different Home Screen.
That would VEEERY useful for people who have kids or wife also using their phone. These people could simply tell their Phone Password to their wives and kids without being afraid of having them seeing any "improper" content.
Does anybody knows if this existis?
Peace!

At least for me, the hardware button is more than enough accidental turn on protection. Is there anyway to turn off slide to unlock?
When I had my Droid, I remember there were several methods available to do this; but I don't remember what any of them were called or if they are compatible. I know that GoLocker (the GO lock screen replacement) is NOT compatible, at least when installed through the Market.
Try the No Lock app from the market.
After setting up a security pin I have no slide to unlock on my device. I hit a button it asks for the pin i set i type it in and it goes straight to whatever was last on screen without asking me to slide to unlock,
I have the Bell S3 and android 4.0+ is suppose to be able to bypass the lock screen (pin, pattern etc) and go into the camera app so people can capture photos quickly without fiddling with passwords. I know my ICS hTC Raider did this so its funny that the S3 cannot.
Is this not the case with the S3? I tried the hold screen + rotate and it still asks me for my password which is useless because i could just drag the icon and enter my password.
There seems to be plenty of adequate little homescreen button apps to lock the screen. but they turn it off at the same time. I want the option for both. I already have one that turns the screen off, now I want a different one that just brings up the ICS default lock screen (the one that shows up just after turning the screen back on or at OS startup - if you set it to have lock security).
I'll put em in the icon group on the home screen.
It's cos sometimes I just need to lock the screen while carrying the phone for a short while [and don't want to touch something while grabbing it by the screen], then easily [without having to press the power button] unlock phone again to resume using it once I'm done carrying.
IS there one that does this? Without having to be its own lock screen app - I really just want to keep things simple.....
Thanks for your help.
I found a solution even better than I had imagined myself! Hidden Lock Pro! even easier and better for my needs than I myself thought of: I press its widget icon to lock screen, it's a simple blank ICS background which is locked to prevent accidental pressing on something, then even better than the default lock security needs (cos it's only while I'm carrying it, in secure environments, that i ever need to use this temp lock function), and I have it set to 'shake to unlock' mode to simply go back to my work when ready! PERFECT for my needs above .
I am trying to figure out a way that, using either a passcode or a pattern, one could enter one passcode to unlock normally and get to their home screen, while another "correct" pattern would take them to maybe an alternate, stripped down home screen, or a home screen with an alternate background and potentially icons. Any ideas? Thanks!
Nobody has any ideas here, huh?
I have a Galaxy Grand Prime with PCS Metro. I set up a pin number (4 digit code) as my lock so nobody can get into my phone unless the code is entered.
HEre is the issue - If I tap the side button it asks for the pin. If I tape the middle button on the bottom of the phone and then select the lock and swipe up it asks for the pin. However if I select somewhere on the screen above the little lock symbol and then swipe up the phone openes with no need for a PIN.
I tried a password as well and teh same thing happened. I have no idea why this is but my phone is not locked in any way shopw for form.
Hoping somebody can help me fix this issue.
