you must read the post above you. Says that not have nothing of developing even.... and you must write in english.
I read this forums for a long long time, I never wrote or ask anything mainly because there is so many information on this forums that actually (if you read) you don't need to ask anything.
I will attempt to make my 1st room with this phone (LG-P714 aka L7X) because I have it, I like it and I remember many ppl asking for it.
Btw thx XDA for all this years

Yeah you are right there is no proper CWM for this model (far as I know) but I already install a CWM what doesn't work in the right way but I was able to backup my original rom and restore it when I made something wrong with my mods so at least is functional

It seems that the random loops happens if you play with cache and other stuff only, for backup and restore works fine. I guess we was using the same files, prolly will be a trouble when we attemp to install the new room cause we cannot clean cache etc etc but so far on my test is working fine and as long I don't use anything else than restore and backup on CWM works fine.
I using gscript in order to make work CWM

i did not used CWM recovery, for anything, didnt use the wipe cache or anything, after exiting CWM recovery, bootloops strated until i got stucked in the logo.
So even if you are using the one for the p715,in the same thread they say that its unstable and does not worth the risk,i hope you can find another way to make a CWM recovery for this model, cause the one thing thats holding me back its that the booloader its locked.

Yeah its upside down screen jumps each time you select another option but works so far still no problems at all. As I see prolly an stable version specific for this model will never come as is not a popular model this was sold only on a few countries as I know

Ok here it is,
Im reading and reading about the rooting.
I tryed to synch my tab with kies to root my tab following this THREAD but it doesnt work
So I posted about it and someone suggested me to check the LOOK HERE THREAD instead
I have a p7500 16gb 4G(well in fact 3G++) and wi-fi (p7500ruxkh4)
Im in canada (quebec province) and am with rogers
data plan, locked sim
honeycomb 3.1
kernel is 2.6.36.3
Now i want to use some apps like titanium backup and some others that need a rooted tab and thats it. I dont want to change kernel or rom or whatever else.
In the LOOK HERE THREAD, there is 2 different P7500 rooting method, one for the 3G and one for the 4G.
On my box and in my "task bar" its says 4G but for what i know, its more 3G++ than real 4G, So WICH one of the tuto do i follow ?
Also, at http://www.samfirmware.com/ i cant find the stock firmware for my p7500ruxkh4
That mean that if i do wrong, i wont be able to recover as brand new. Any clues of where to find it ?
Now about CMW and Odin, since i just want to root, do i have to dl thoses programs ?
Also in the UNROOT tutorial, you guys talk about the filesfordummies, but for what i read, this file is for the p7510 and not for my p7500 right?
So if i want to UNROOT my P7500, what are the proper steps to follow ?
I know, theses are probably noob questions but after searching on the net and this forum, I couldnt find any clear anwsers so i think i should ask you guys first instead of trying and brick my tab.
There is 5 bold/underline questions. I hope some of you have all the anwsers.
Thanks in advance for your help
1. IMPORTANT: in the look here thread use the root package for the 3G model
the 4G/LTE version will cause your system to bootloop
2. DO A NANDROID backup of your stock install -- then you have that to go back to.
3. Team Overcome have a great guide and package: stock for restore and clean purposes, CWM for root usage and a very nice custom rom: see here
4. if you want a custom kernel, there is one by Pershoot and the modification by rego here which plays nice with Overcome and matches your 7500 very well.

I was wondering if you backed up your Stock Firmware? I am using some Europe firmware as of now because I was one of the unlucky who used the 4G unlock.

well, i rooted my tab and used rom manager to backup my actual rom. i dont know if it can help u.
another thing, i changed the hosts file in /system/etc/hosts to avoid ads in games or app.
since im not rally used to all this stuff, tell me if there is something i can do for you, and if so, ill help with pleasure
If you backed it up just after you rooted it should be okay, I should be able to load your Backup to get my rom back to normal and then Factory Reset to get it all cleaned off. Let me know if there is a way you can email or dropbox it to me in a pm.
It would be awesome!
check ur pm, if it work, just click thanks

Like many others, I've followed the tutorial at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416190 but have ended-up with a loop.
In my case I cannot find the Samsung ROM for the Canadian version ( I5500MUGJJ7 ) as can be seen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13958293&postcount=1 I'm not the only one.
End result is I've bricked my phone I think (but hoping NOT).
I don't think by following that tutorial I made a backup so I don't think I can restore - or CAN I?
Can anyone help me out - THNKS

That's the point, I don't have the original ROM. I was following the tutorial and had NOT realised I wasn't making a backup and I don't think the original author even realized the it would happen that the Canadian ROM would be one of the very few which couldn't be found if things got screwed-up.

First try to get on the tutorial, from this sequence:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416190
1.1 We need to install a boot-loader as the Samsung one is very limited and just plain awful! That said, it wasn’t intended to be used for anything other than the Samsung software so it’s not awful from their point of view but it’s pretty unfriendly to us.
To this
2.4 If you are new to use ClockworkMod recovery manager then before doing anything, please have a look at next screen to learn the navigation keys.
If this works, than we will talk what to do next.
Try different official rom, maybe it will work, you don't have anything to lose.

I don't think it's actually the ROM which is the problem but the "baseband". Twice I followed the tutorial and everything worked until it came time to restart the phone. At which time it went into the loop.
I have unlocked G5 and it is not Virgin Mobile - what now!
Thanks

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Yes you can flash the phone with an unbranded rom, you can even flash it with the monosim rom, if you don't want the dual sim function.
Yes I know a lot of people who did it (they liked the phone features bu they don't need the DS functionality.)

PS: Can you give me your "/system/build.prop", mine is so changed.. ?
Mine is also heavily changed... I can share it anyway but like tommorow (you should remind me via PM).
One guy should have sent me the clean prop but still got no message from him ...

Ok well I installed CWM and rooted my phone. I went ahead and got this one. Let's see what's cooking...now if only I can get that boot.img...
I am very happy to report I have created a flashable rom(via CWM or TWRP) which is essentially the same as the default rom on the star, but it has some of the junk apps alcatel pre-loads on the phone like game-loft removed and SuperSU installed.
I created it by getting the firmware.info file for our device, creating a custom update-script (getting the correct partition mounts from the firmware.info) using some pointers from DorianX's AOTI Lite Rom update-script, taking the system directory and boot.img from a nandroid backup after a factory reset, and getting the custpack directory by using a root file explorer to copy it to my sd and subsequently my computer editing the custpack, and finally packaging it together via dsixda's kitchen.
I am still working on slimming it down a little more as there are apps in /system/ that can be removed as well, but I just wanted to see if creating a custom ROM was doable. And it seems it was after 3 days of experimenting
Also got rid of that default hideous white theme by changing a setting in the build.prop.
I can upload it if anyone would like me to.
I have just achieved root with a tool called Towelroot.exe, now I would like to install a custom recovery but my device isn't listed in Rom Manager.
Is it safe to flash recovery from a device that is similar to mine?
How do I go about finding the right recovery so I can do a nandroid backup for my phone. I would also like to flash Cyanogenmod so that I may customize my device.
Any help would be very appreciated.
I'm rooted also!
Same lol I hope soon we have a custom recovery...JB 4.3 is awesome but wanna try KitKat.....since rooted with towelroot I got Xposed framework on mine ?

Galaxy Ace Style sm-s765c Stock recovery sucks
Anyone know what my Galaxy Ace Style sm-s765c compares to, I think it's close to the s3 mini except that it has 512MB ram and the s3 mini has a gig I think.
This stock recovery doesn't even have an option to make a backup, what the hell were they thinking. What in the heck would you do if something happpend with your stock os and you needed to restore it or something like that.
I would sure like some help with this, to understand why I just can't throw a recovery that was close to my system onto mine, How bad could it be would it really screw up the booting process? They all boot the same don't they? I would think it would be safe just as long as it's the same os version right?

Is what I did when Towelroot opens you click the Welcome to Towelroot v3 three times then a textbox will appear with some random numbers and the second to the last one is a 4 delete the 4 and put in a 2 and that worked for me.
Hope this helps:cyclops:
That seems to work great. Thanks for your help

I was playing with an app called flashify it let me boot into bootloader mode and this is what it says.
odin mode
product name: sm-s765c
Current binary: Samsung Official
ap swrev s1, t1, r1, a1, p1
write protection enable
would this mean anything? how would you go about disabling write protection?
Something else I was wondering the file system on my Galaxy Ace Style has an extsdcard and an sdcard, they have different contents in both,
Which one is my actuall sdcard? I think it's the extsdcard but I'm not sure.
Edit: Never mind I got it now.
I was able to download the stock recovery 7.5mb and stock kernal 6.1 mb with flashify, I don't know if a programmer could take these files and do something with them or not or if they are even the files I need..
anything yet???
Any success as of yet....
To busy working

No sorry man I need a day off before I can really get anything accomplished
Mon and Tues are days off this week.
Keep in mind though I'm not a programmer so don't get to excited lol.
Have you ever tried the automated cwm recovery builder,
it sucks I don't know how it works but it just ques my files.
The hardest thing about this is trying to figure whats the difference from our phone to others.

Thanks to Ameer Dawood the create of online nandroid availible at google play added our phone to his database, We can now do a full nandroid backup, I don't know how this works without a custom recovery but it does somehow, There should't be any reason Ameer can't help us with a custom recovery,(I will ask).

Hi use towelroot.apk from towelroot.com and tap welcome to towel root 3 times when the box at the bottom comes up change the 1 to a zero so it will look like 1337 0 0 0 4 0 tap make it rain and the device is rooted, reboot the phone first and it will hold root.
Howdy yall...lol. I would like to let you all know I have decompiled the hiddenmenu.apk within the system/app folder and guess what if we can get to these hidden menus it has options to turn off secure settings, however it does require a key.......I just send an email to the samsung dev responsible for handling the keys, will keep you posted also I will post the dialpad codes soon so keep your eyes peeled here.
I have been coming to this site for a very long time, was a huge CM user back when I had the HTC G2. I hope I posted this in the right section, as I havent really made my own posts before here, so if not im truly sorry and hope it can be placed in the right section without punishment .
Now Ive done a alot of searching here about this device and unless im doing something wrong, I cant seem to find much at all on it. It was released april of this year I guess, but I just recently aquired one, which comes with stock 4.4.4 (KitKat). I have rooted this device successfully, but I am unable to find any custom recovery (unsure if CWM or TWRP will work, a little nervous about trying to install and mess the device up lol) that would work on this device, much less any custom roms or anything at all on XDA. I'm actually suprised that there isn't a Thread dedicated to this device as its actually very nice.
So anyway, I was just hoping maybe someone involved with development on this site could possibly look into this device and maybe this device could get some attention and maybe some community support so some custom stuff could start coming out for it? Its a nice device and would love to see it have its own section here at XDA, thats all .
Anyway, sorry to bore everyone with this thread, just trying to bring the Alcatel Onetouch Pop Astro to the light here is all.
Thanks! [emoji6]

A3FUMF0 is known to block root. Tried using Kingroot a couple of times with different versions, didn't work for me.
Yes, you need to downgrade, but the only way that I know of (I also created an article of this) is flashing a factory image to the phone directly. Just keep in mind of this before flashing because it is hard to recover if you don't do this and you will have a bricked phone as an outcome:

Before you start, if you have access to the phone, be sure to:
• Remove your Google account
• Take off your lock screen password/PIN/pattern
• Uncheck “Protect Your Phone” from Settings > Security
• Deactivate all device administrators from Settings > Security (Optional; Just to be safe)

Okay, I did everything that was said and now I am on A3CUMC1 4.4.4 and I tried Kingroot and I think it worked...
Awesome, thanks, just used Kingroot root checker and it's rooted, much appreciated.
One more quick question, what steps did you take after you rooted your astro?
Any custom roms/recoveries that are usable?

Sadly, there isn't any custom ROMs/recoveries available for the OneTouch Pop Astro
After I rooted my Astro, I installed some root apps (Titanium Backup is one example) and Viper4Android. That's pretty much what I use with root on this phone.

No problem
Warning - secureboot ahead
Heads up for anyone wanting to develop for this device - Had one of these with a broken screen I was about to toss, so I tried to see if there was any chance of getting anywhere with flashing. Nope, Error 100 , unauthorized firmware and device seems to be bricked.
onetouch pop root
ok so yea i had to run kingroot on the pc and kingroot oneclick root app several times before it would properly take root.you may have to keep clearing the cache data on the app and make sure developer mode and oem unlock are checked.cant guerentee those both are requirements ,or that its a safe stable way to root eitheir bc when i finally got mine to take root it turned off and froze like it was hard bricked for a while but after removing and installing the battery back a few times it turned back on and was confirmed to be properly rooted by the root checker app from the app store even though i dont think the rooting app said it was sucsessfully 100% completed. hope it helps good luck..

rooted this phone with kingroot then installed x-posed. Tried several methods to switch to supersu, succeeded with the method #2 on droidmen . All the modules I've tried work flawlessly.
Anyone know of a custom kernel for this phone?
