Today i was installing ics theme in my Neo V, accidently i deleted framwork-res.apk from system root. I got many errors and after restarting it gets stucked at boot-loop.
my phone details...
stock ICS rom rooted with locked bootloader and stock Kernal.
had superuser and busybox but no CWM installed.
I am noob. and now i am not able to connect my cell to PC. (tried PCC and adb)
I searched on internet and forum but didn't find any thing helpful.
Is there any way to restore that file in phone or how to connect it to PC.
Please Help !!!

The main idea is to restore your framework-res.apk. U can use aroma explorer if you have installed CWM from boot. If u havent, u should unlock your bootloader, there are several methods, i would suggest the unofficial through s1 tool with testpoint. Do you have a custom ROM build, or the official that came with your phone?
Take your battery off, start flashtool, put battery back in DO NOT power up.
Connect to pc when flashtool tells you holding back button.

thanks guys for replying.
but I don't want to unlock bootloader. so I flashed it completely using flash tool. And had to give-up my all app updates. Now working fine...
Install cwm this time, even if your staying on stock, so that if something like this happens again, atleast it's easier to recover without loosing data.

dont forget to wipe the phone before flash the new one
Try using flashtool and downloading generic 4.0.4, if that doesnt work use SEUS as last resource
Download ftf file for your phone and flash it using flashtool.

You should wipe data and cache at first, then install the ROM along with the gapps with it!

That's the first mistake I did. But how do I go into recovery or download mode now? It is stuck in bootloop. Please help me get out of bootloop. Thanks
Go to recovery mode, wipe phone completely ( cache, data, dalvik cache, battery stat if you want to ), then flash your rom. it will be fine
back to cwm again.

Thanks. I just did that. I flashed it but it came back to CWM again.
please help.
after reboot it came back to recovery ? Okay if it so. try these :
1. do as i said earlier + before flashing rom, after wiping phone , go to mounts and storage and formate /system, /data and /cache manually. then flsah rom and reboot.
if this didn't work,
2. then as the first comment on this page says, download ftf file (rom) for your device and flash it via flashtool. all instructions will be given when you'll select to flash ftf . dont worry this will work definitely.
but sorry i haven't asked you earlier, you have locked bootloader or unlocked ? because if you'r using wrong kernel which is not for the rom, you'll get bootloops.if on wrong kernel, try flashing right kernel for your device. good luck
I was using rooted Stock 4.0.3. I installed CWM recovery. I didnt unlocked bootloader. I did a full wipe but forgot to format cache, data and system. I installed Jelly Sandwich and patched it. When I reboot my phone it stucked at sony logo. When I want to open recovery it also stucks at sony logo. Also when I connect it to charger sony logo appears forever and indication led is not flashing. What can I do to solve this?

Good day guys! I have the same problem. It is actually my first time at this so forgive me. I was trying to install CM 10 on my Neo V. So I went to CWM, wiped data/factory, wiped dalvic-cache then went on to installing the rom. It gave the status 7 error. So I went back to the file to remove the getprop lines. Tried to flash it again, but got another error like this "set_perm: some changes failed". After rebooting, I'm stuck at the "SONY" logo. I can't go to CWM anymore and I can't go to fastboot (pressing volume up + plug usb) too. Is there any way to recover my phone? I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

Did you unlock bootloader before trying out CM based ROMs
Also a clean install is what i'd suggest
First flash The kernel inside the Zip
Then,
Wipe data,cache,dalvik cache
Format data,system,cache
Install your Rom
Also ,Fastboot is not accessed by vol up button but Menu button+plug usb

Thanks a lot for the fast replies! My bad on the fastboot buttons. I was able to figure that out now and also the flashmode. Right now I'm trying to download Mt11i_4.1.B.0.431_customized cenral europe 3.ftf.7z. I believe this is the stock ftf for Neo V? I'm really sorry for the newbie questions, I have been trying to find the answers myself but there are a ton of info and videos that always give different ways to do them. Obviously, I followed one that did not work for me. Thank you again! I'll post updates.

Goodnews to me! I was able to revive my Neo V, big big thanks to your help. I was able to install the stock ICS ftf.
So at this time, will I start again at the beginning like root, unlock bootload, install CWM again? I happened to soft-brick my Neo V few days back after installing a custom ROM. Please read on to see what helped me get my Neo V up and running again.
If your phone is stuck at SONY logo, I doubt it will go into CWM recovery mode either. I had tried flashing stock kernel through Flashtool, and also tried the FOTA-Unbrick method via flashtool, but even that didn't help. Finally, I used the "repair" option in PC Companion which flashed Stock ICS ROM on my Neo V (however, all data on phone's internal memory was lost and my phone had to e rooted again). But at least my phone was recovered. Hope this will guide you.
Details Please!!
Details details !!!:fingers-crossed:
Without the details, people cannot help you!!!
From your statement, i beleive your's is rooted and CWM installed.
But let us know whether BL is unllocked?. I guess its not..
So first of all, the ROM you choose should be supporting BL unlocked phones.
let us know the firmware which you were earlier and the ROM which you tried to flash and the BOOTLOADER status.

If you want to change the ROM go to the thread of the respective rom and see how you can do it. If you want to change the kernel. Download any ics kernel and flash it via flashtool. If you only want to get root back check the sticky threads in development about rooting. Since you have unlocked your bootloader rooting will be easier.

Hey guys. I have a Xperia Arc S and I really wanted to install this ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920207 ). But I don't know how to install custom rom. My phone is rooted I guess. I root my phone with Eroot (link - http://d-h.st/NUC). After that I installed root checker pro and it said your phone has been rooted successfully. Then I installed X-Parts to install CWM, but I failed to open the recovery mode. Yes I already tried pressing few times that volume down or back button. My android version 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.587). Please help me to install this ROM.
Sorry about my bad English.
You need to install cwm, there are installers that can be found on the forum, try searching cwm for xperia arc s, I am pretty sure you will find one. Then using cwm you can install rom. Try the arc s forum for finding cwm for your device.

Hey bro thanks for your reply. I searched for ''custom rom for xperia arc s'' and I found something like this ''use the cwm installer kit from doomlord''.
I don't know what is that mean. And then I found something like this ''For locked bootloader, use Xperia Auto Installer. Can be download at market.
For unlocked bootloader, flash custom kernel with CWM like Stock ICS kernel with CWM, ArcKnight and Doomkernel.''
I'm not sure my bootloader is locked or unlocked. Is there any way to confirm this thing ?
Use cwm auto installers,
No need of unlock bootloader.
For unlock bootloader just ask me how?

Hey bro thanks for your reply. I did exactly as you said but my phone got stuck on sony logo. I waited maximum 10min for the recovery screen but it didn't show up. Then I remove my battery and turned on my phone. Still can't get into recovery mode.
