Go to system settings and then go in the option called "usage"
From there, you should be able to change the data usage warning limits, or turn off the feature entirely.
I don't even have the feature turned on to begin with

For example mail.
When the server receives a mail for you it will send a signal to your phone that there is a messages for you. Then your phone will download that messages.
You can stop it, just look at the settings from the app.
I don't know if this is true, but i believe it's the option for battery life. (except when you receive a message every minute, but you need the messages only once every 2 hours or so)
So the best solution is to freeze those email gmail app??..
