Hey,
I'd really like to create mods out of features I like in StockRoms, but I can't seem to find any resource on how to do it.
My Asus Memopad HD7 comes with a nice app (ASUS Splendid) to adjust screen settings (hue, satturation, color temperature) which could propably make screens of other devices more enjoyable. The Bravaria Engine from the Sony Xperia devices is a similar mod, so maybe someone involved with this mod could give me some hints and tipps.
Attached are the *.apk and *.odex for the app, but simply installing it on another device is not enough. I suspect there are other changes that need to be done, to run the app on another device. Deodex possibly? Tweak target framework?
I will transform this into a guide/tutorial as soon as I know what to do.
Any help appreciated, I'm not afraid of the thanks-button.
Best regards
Kalle

If I wanted to create a Scene or a Skin for the Thunderbolt how would I go about doing this. I'm good with creating images but writing the script may be a bit hard for me. And what would be the difference between the Scene and the Skin?
Please don't bark at me, I know its a question you pros hear all the time. Its that I don't know if the sizes are the same far as docks, icons, etc....

I suggest looking at other themes already made. You know you can open them (the theme file) with most types of compression tools (7zip, winrar, tar, etc). Have you tried that yet and looked to see what the sizes are and what the files do?
Just download some from the app/theme forum and browse them on your computer

thanks I'll do that.
Depending on how fancy you're trying to get, just using another them as a template should work out okay. If not, you can probably find more info on just generic theming for htc sense based phones in some other forums that have been around longer on xda. I honestly haven't seen anything really thunderbolt specific mentioned on the forums here. However, it should work out the same minus the sizes for any other htc phone (assuming it's for sense 2.x, which most are still).
I know however that I've seen tutorials for launcher theming around on xda. I saw one not long ago for go launcher, so I assume there are others for adw and the other launchers out there as well. Launcher theming wont let you mod everything of course (battery and those icons and such), but still quite a bit you can do and it should be something you can carry over to any phone, not just the thunderbolt.
I don't think anything theme wise should really require coding. Perhaps modding some existing xml and such, but that shouldnt be overly tricky. The hardest part is probably the graphics and that doesn't seem to be a problem for you.
Hi i found apk's styled to Windows Phone 7 (Mms.apk, Phone.apk, Contacts.apk, and there is framework-res.apk, and much more) it is made for Galaxy S I9000.
here is originar thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910918
is there any option or someone who can help or port those apk's to X10 mini pro.
i don't have so much knowledge to do that i only know how to resize png's and decompile apk.
I'll be grateful for any help
Well, porting will be much work..but at least there are some developers creating some WP7 apps, they are even working on our QVGA devices
Have a look at: WP7Android.com
If you make a little contribution you get access to all (full version) apps - for lifetime!
Theming the framework-res.apk (statusbar, buttons and all that stuff) is not that big problem, but how to resize an app, i don't know either so we need some more help
Apkmanager or apktool, it has nice enviorenment and noob friendly ui
@Nitroboy tnx i will take al look
@ glavic i allready have apkmaneger for decompiling and compiling and so.
I dont know how is with smali and java :/
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
Here is the original thread in XDA: WP7Android UI - UPDATE 6.1: WP7Contacts 1.1 Update
Like you see, some apps are free...
EDIT: When downloading app it requires a password...

Well, now the new site since August 10 is: http://sevenplusandroid.org/
And I found also this theme here in the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219691
I just want to clarify that http://sevenplusandroid.org is not the new website, but rather a separate organization from http://wp7android.com. While some of WP7Android's developers (notably ZPlayer and WP7Lock) have joined us, a number of other developers are a part of this project (notably Timo of Launcher 7), and it is under different management so to speak. Nonetheless the ideas are similar, we seek to provide an entire suite of applications for any Android device with the WP7 style user interface.
As we know, padfone has the phone mode and tablet mode, and currently Asus has manage to put the phone and tablet launcher data separately.
I'm interested in porting this feature into other 3rd party Launcher. If anyone wanna help out??
p.s could Mods change the thread to app and game?
Here is the apk and odex
Try download Dynamic Display Switch(DDS) Technical Support
Provide developers the emulator system image to implement Dynamic Display Switch(DDS), and tutorial documents
http://www.asus.com/Mobile/PadFone/#download
Maybe it will help you.

yea, the post was before Asus uploaded the DDS, but I don't really get the chance to try and even check the apk.
would you like some try here?
Hi guys, I tried graphically modding the Enigma Rom 3.5 (very thankful for that) for personal purpose but I keep getting a bug in the background image of paste button and magnifier. Look at the attachments and you will see.
Does anyone else has the same problem? I tried decompiling it and compared almost all the xml files of stock framework to this modded one! But I wasn't able to find any differences??.. So where is this mod going wrong or what file is causing this trouble?? Can anyone help me please... (I really liked the transition effects of Xperia Z)

Anyone...?
Hello everybody
With some friends, I used to mod battery display in the status bar by modifying some PNG.
But, with android 4.4 things appear to have changed...
We are facing a real issue attempting to understand the way the system operate to display battery in the kitkat version of android
In the previous versions of android, displaying battery icons used to require PNG and two XML files in the systemUI. It seems that it's different now under kitkat
We've seen, on some custom ROM, some battery variants, even on Google ROM. But so far, despite my searches, I've not seen any in deep explanation on the "how to" mod the battery display, just like we usually did for our modd before kitkat.
Maybe we missed something .
At this point, as modder, we are completely hanged
According to our researches, commands are now located in smalis, but... we don't know how to modify them and make them work.
However we don't know where to find images (ex PNG)... what miracle explains the battery images displaying.
Could you please* explain us the way it works now?
I think a real answer could help many members of the whole community.
Great thanks for all answers.
Franck thank you for having posted THE question that a lot of people are asking since the arrival of KK.
It is truly amazing that nobody has responded to this call for help so far.
I am one of those people who expect a detailed response to real progress.
Thank you in advance for that, or those who want to take the time to explain.
