Is there any way to change transition animations for CM10.1 4.2.2? I would really love it if there were ways to modify the transitions as after a while, the stock transitions get boring. If anyone already has modified transitions, could you please post it here along with instructions on how to replace the current transitions. Thanks

Ever flashed rootbox? Stable build 4.2 has some crazy new animations. Go to ROM control>general UI>listview animations to enable them. Not trolling you, just a suggestion of some animations if you're up for a change.

I am sure this question has been asked, but what is the fastest ROM out there at the moment. I want one that is fast. It can be with or without sense. I don't mind. What are your opinions?
Probably a gingerbread rom because it seems to get higher benchmark scores or froydvillain a 2.2 rom
tasty ginger 2.0 from raduG seem fast.
Elelinux-7.0.0 this is the rom I am using and it good
here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932377
the tv off thing works in this rom give it a try

Wow, just after I created this questions and no one answered I decided to use Elelinux's other ROM and it is quite fast. Even the live walpaper I have doesn't slow down. (I have the matrix one not 3D one) it works a treat. I will try the one you are using to see if there are any differences.
Yeah but widgets list and windows animations on elelinux rom are not smooth. ;(

Sorry, excuse me for the dumb question, what do you mean widgets list and windows animations? Is that when you change screens or something like that?

Widgets list - list of widgets when you are adding widgets to homescreen.
Windows animations - example in Settings -> Date & time -> Select date format - this window is animated. In Elelinux (and other gingerbread hero roms) animation of this window is laggy and uncool.
In my opinion the fastest is Cronos Froyo 1.8.0.
I was searching for about an our to see if i wanted to flash Apex on my Droid 2, because i think that the transitions on that rom are amazing, but i look in the fission rom manager( or FRM) and see a Gingerbread theme option that applies the same transitions.
I don't know if I'm missing something but really is there a difference between them?
know that my fission rom has all the same transitions is there any other reason i should flash Apex?
I think you meant to click a different sub-forum.
Anyway, those aren't ApeX transitions; they were just pulled from Gingerbread.
ApeX uses a combination of Blur and AOSP apps, while Fission is about as Blur-less as you can get. There are other features, but it just comes down to personal preference since both ROMs are quite stable.
I don't know if im going crazy but i have used the nexus s with stock gingerbread and it doesn't have all those animations and fly in transitions( probably the animations options was checked off...not sure)
Well..... there are a lot of supe easy ways to use different animations from different roms... so like Quacker said it is all just personal preference.
Ex:
I could just pull the transitions from apex, make it into a zip, and then flash it through recovery and I would have all of the transitions.
Well, I've looked around a lot and I can't find much clear instructions so I figure this post won't be only beneficial to me. I've rooted my GS2 and flashed a few roms and stuff, but I can never get some of the UI elements to my liking. There's always one or two things that's missing from one ROM, that's there in another, but that one misses something from the previous. Anyway, I'd really appreciate some help in learning to theme my GSII. I just got rid of CM7 #116 and went to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168836&page=942
CriskeloRom V38. It's pretty nice but I'd like to change some of the icons and stuff. Firstly I'd like to change the battery icon, the wifi and edge icon, and maybe the icons in the notification bar. Also what I'd REALLY love is to figure out how to add my own animations or transitions and stuff. I've always been jealous of how smooth iPhones seem to be because of the transitions they have. And the overscroll bounce has been disabled, I'd also like to add that back. I think some of these things can be done thru JKay mod, but I'm not sure how and I don't wanna go around flashing stuff that I'm clueless about. All helps is appreciated, thanks a lot guys Oh and forgot to mention, I'd also like to know how to increase the number of apps shown in the recent apps
Read a lot, or get an iphone

Yeah, I have been. I'm not finding much info, hence the reason I'm asking a question. I'm not illiterate. I was just hoping some more experienced users could point me in the right direction since I'm still fairly new to this.

you can enable the overscroll bounce with jkay deluxe settings. you can disable it if you want. regarding animations or transitions again you need to find a rom that supports them..look around in the threads and you will find roms that have them.heck themes now add them so if you want to flash a rom and then flash ics theme you are guaranteed to have what you are after...so here is what i would do in your situation:
either get go launcher from market. It gives so you so many options regarding animations or transitions between homescreens and app screens. that is what i am currently using. then no need to flash a rom since the launcher gives you all that
second. go into jkay thread and read on how the settings work and read the changelog
third find a rom and then a theme to suit your needs
Its the Devs and Themers that have that information but they tend not to read the Q&A or General section .
General section of XDA.com may have more info .

Thanks for the reply i tried enabling it but the option is there, and also there aren't any of the overscroll bounce packages available for XXKL1 as far as I've read.. I'm using a rom with an ICS theme and a few transitions right now but I thought it'd be cool to customise them how i like. I'll need to read a bit more about JKay though. I like Widget Locker but last time I tried it, I got bad battery drain. Think I'll give it a go again and see though.

Go launcher is a good shout but if you're really a big theme fan, flash a miui rom. I recommend galnet personally. Enjoy!

Try looking in the android dev threads. Lots of theming info and tools to decompile/recompile etc.
See how you go from there.

Hello folks !!
I was wondering if one of the skilled devs could port CRT animations to ICS (4.0.4)
Here is the original thread for CRT anims on Gingerbread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544769
I believe i'm not the only one interested in such a port ^^
Thanks in advance.
I would love this as well!
Hi! sounds very good.
yeah I want it too.
I think someone has requested this before and didn't get the answer.
While waiting, you might use this application with more screen off effects Katecca Screen off and lock. I just found it today and it seems to be nice (I've assigned it to a gesture in Apex launcher and using it instead of HW button - it's more convenient)
I would love to have this animation back on my mobile!
yes its avail in Sasininx miui
Anyone know of a flashable zip to give ICS the jelly bean animations? I've found zips for other devices, but I'm hesitant to flash only to then restore. I'm running Novena, and it's the only thing it lacks.
Thanks!
Do you possibly mean that your running NOVA as your launcher? If so, then it definitely does have a setting to add jelly bean animations (at least the prime version does). I use it on the ICS 7005 ROM with jelly bean animations...very smooth and STABLE!
I was thinking actual transition animations between apps and whatnot. Padawan runs 4.0 base, but it has the JB animations. And I've seen flashable zips for other devices which change the ICS animations to JB. I even saw someone say, in a thread in our section, that they flashed JB animations to an ICS base. Someone asked for the link, though, and the person never responded.
As for your direct question, though, not Nova launcher. I'm running the "n word" ROM under development by alliance. No actual thread for it, yet.

Lmao. He said the "N" word. Awwww! Hehehe
Is there really an "n" word rom???
I find that offensive as parts of me are black....
It's called Novena - as I said in the OP - but it's not really to be talked about in the blackstar thread, so someone made that little pun and I used it here as the persons question had me doubting my spelling and I was too lazy to check my about phone info.
