[Q] Replacing contact lists - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed Touchpal on an android 4.0. Problem is, when I go to Messaging and write my SMS, by clicking on "add receipt", it will go to the default android contact list. How can I tell him to go to Touchpal contact list?

Bone stock Android Messaging App?

The motoblur is honestly not that bad but there are a couple things I miss from the bone stock Android message app.
1. The ability to delete all message threads. I do not like that the motoblur version makes you enable multiple select first and then you have to select them all individually.
2. The ability to send on enter from the on screen keyboard.
So I'm wondering if the default message app is in the market or if the stock Android one can be installed?

Agreed. I dont like this SMS message limit.
i think your only bet is to get another sms app. handcent in market can do all that listed plus more. plus you can change the theme to be "default" android look.

Can't add a contact when SMS using handcent !!!

Hi all, just download handcent from market

[Q] ICS NonSense v2.0 messaging

Hey everyone,
I installed this ROM and have noticed that in the newer versions v1.1.0 and v2.0 it seems that when you go to compose a text message in the recipient field when you start typing in the name of the person it does not auto populate the phone number info, as well as if you go into people and select the reciepent and select that you want to message them it will take you into the messaging app without and of the recepient information. Has anyone else experienced this or know of any fixes?
Here is the link to the ROM that I have installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507616
##UPDATE
I have tried this: when in "people" and I select the recipient and choose to use GoSMSPro the recipient information will get populated unlike when I choose to use the stock Messaging app.
I have read that if we flash this MMS.apk it will start to work.

Any thoughts? Can anyone confirm?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] "Local" (non-Google) contacts in ICS?

I have a Galaxy Nexus with stock Android 4.0.2. On day one, I imported a bunch of contacts by writing a small program using the contacts API. This worked great, and they all show up as "phone-only, unsynced contact" in the contact list, which is exactly what I want. When I now try to manually add a new contact through the phone's menus, I have no choice but to add it as a "Google contact". How can I add it as local (unsynced) from the menus? If this, for some strange reason, isn't possible, then surely someone out there has made an app that does this?
Thanks for any help.
here's my fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808037
