[Q] I accidentally formatted System, Data, Cache all in bootloader - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Hi Guys,
Made a big mistake, I was trying to enable the HTC button on the HTC one so i can use it as a menu button, but by accident I formatted the entire SD card along with data and system. now my phone wont boot into anything, it is just stuck on HTC quietly brilliant. i can boot into recover and connect to fastboot, but there is where I am stuck. I had previously installed Jellybean 4.2.2. ADB devices doesnt show the phone on the list, but fastboot devices does. not sure how to flash back the rom to the phone since I cant copy the file to the sd card if that is the fix.
Please help!!!:crying:

I did this same exact thing by accident today. When inside recovery go into your windows device manager and tell your phone to use your adb driver. This should allow you to push your zip to sdcard and flash

Thank You, the only problem now is that my phone died, and it wont charge; it seems the problem just got worse!!!!

That's odd that it won't charge. It seems you do have a bigger problem lol all I can suggest is try a different cable and charger and a different outlet. If it doesn't charge while its off and you know those things are good then I think its time for a new phone man :/

Had done just that, tried with a different cable and it worked, also followed your advice on the driver and i was able to push the file to my phone. Thank you, my phone is alive again. :victory:

[Q] what's happening? posible brick?

i have a htc legend with Blayo's 0.8 rom.
for a couple of weeks all works perfect but suddenly one day when i connected the htc to pc with USB cable nothing happened, only started to charge the battery. in the past the phone used to show a menu for choosing what type of connection had to use, but now didn't show anything.
i tried to reinstall HTCSync and the SDK but nothing changes.
i also tried with different usb cables but nothing
it's my legend bricked??
try to change the default connection type in Settings - Connect to PC..
i tried too but nothing changes
Try file expert or alternative, they have samba built in so you can ftp to your phone
Sent from my Legend using xda premium
yeah i'm Software Data Cable to send and recive files from Legend but if i want to change the rom i can't do it because pc doesn't detect the legend in fastboot and can't enter to recovery

why use cable? It´s so stoneage use wifi, and swiFTP app on your mobile and filezilla ftp on your pc to transfer your files. Then cmw to flash a new rom, you don´t have to be plugged in with your pc for that
Software Data Cable is like swiFTP, i can access my sdcard with filezilla.
the problem is that when i try to access to recovery to flash a new rom a triangle with a red exclamation appears and i have to push recovery from pc. i think that i don't have the recovery installed in my legend or something like that. with Rom Manager doesn't work, the same thing :S

When you get the triangle, have you tried push the volume button up and powerbutton.. ? What does rom manager say, you have installed cmw recovery?
mmmm i will try it! thnx!
EDIT: when i push volume up and powerbutton says: E:Can't oen /cache/recovery/command at the bottom of the screen. in the top a recovery like menu appears with Reboot system, apply sdcard:update.zip, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition :S
NOOB ANSWER TIME:
Dunno if this is correct, but hey, we all learn, eh?
Make sure you have the correct version of CWM as an update.zip in the root of your SD. Then when you press VOL UP + PWR, choose to apply sdcard:update.zip. You'll launch into recovery from there.
oh! thank you! i didn't know that! i can enter into recovery! i want another rom, any recommendation? ( CM7 no please ) i think installing a new rom could fix the problem with the usb!
awww, man. did you try searching first before posting your problem? your phone isn't bricked. what you have is what's called around here as 'usb brick'. now, go here and get bzzzzz...
mm i think i don't have usb brick, because when USB Brick occurs pc can detect the htc in fastboot but i can't so i can't do the steps to fix the problem :S
any idea?
it's possible that the usb connector is broken?
Maybe there are someting wrong with your hardware....You may need to find the Costomer Service....

I have been able to do this on my wife's phone pretty easy and all I do it find a copy if CWM recovery (often called CWM all), a copy of update.zip, and the latest version if Odin. Use your factory USB cord and plug your phone into your PC. Let it install all the drivers. Once I stalled open your phone and mount the SD card so you can see it as a hard drive. Place the update.zip file on the SD card, but not in any folder. From there unhook your phone and power it down. Remove the battery and start Odin. Plug your USB part of the phone cord into the PC (don't connect it to the phone yet). Hold down the volume down button and power button while connecting the phone cord to the phone. You will see a yellow triangle and Droid on the screen. From there click the PDA button and find the CWM file you downloaded. Click start and let it do its thing. The phone will power down and you can then replace the battery and start your phone. I usually let my phone power up and then power it down again. After it is off you will then need to hold the volume up, volume down, and power button to boot into recovery. Once in Recovery you can choose the option to install update.zip. Let it do its thing and then reboot the phone. You should be good to go.

Hi Guys-
I'm having a problem with my Samsung Fascinate as well. Its currently running Gingerbread 2.3.5 build EH03. I had my phone flashed to MetroPCS a couple of days ago with Talk/Text only. Now I'm trying to root my phone using Odin. I want to install CyanogenMod, because I ran it on my old HTC Hero and was satisfied with it.
The problem is that my phone will not mount as a USB Storage. I'm using a Mac, however I have Parallels running Windows XP SP3. I have installed the Samsung drivers from the Samsung website and the drivers do show up in the device manager, but it still doesn't mount as a USB storage device in Windows. On the phone I receive the notification that its USB Connected - select to copy files to/from your computer. But, again nothing happens when I select it.
Whenever I plug my phone in the USB port Odin recognizes it, but when I put the phone into download mode it doesn't show up in Odin. I've also tried to see if it shows up using ADB from the Android SDK. Its not listed as a device when I run the command adb devices.
Is there anyway to root the phone if its not showing up in Odin when its download mode?

Try another Pc!

I think you can root the phone without having to flash CWM recovery, but it does require ADB so I don't know if that would be any help. FWIW, I have a mac too, and haven't had any luck using heimdall (it doesn't recognize the device), although I haven't tried any sort of VM or anything like crossover to use odin on it. I've just accepted using a windows machine when odin is required
Does your ADB work with other devices? For whatever reason, I couldn't get it working with the fascinate, then I tried it a few days ago and it worked all of a sudden. Another workaround is to use the wirelessADB app from the market. If you search for "galaxy s mac" you'll see that you're unfortunately definitely not alone in having connectivity issues with OSX.

very true...ADB is another option to root, but I never recomend it because most folks will have trouble using it....dont mean the in a condescending way, just sayin.
For sure, just thought I would throw it out there. Looks fairly simple actually from the guide nitsuj17 posted in the OP of the EH03 odin/heimdall package, well maybe straightforward would be a better word, just since it's laid out step-by-step.
I actually had problems using cwm... it failed to flash the su.zip properly. So I used the latest version of GeeWiz recovery on stock EH03. Worked fine. Roots every time. #hopethathelps

but i cannot install any roms all i get when i select the zip file is a screen that shows the unpacking then it goes to a triangle with an exclamation point. then reboots into normal android loosing everything i had installed. i made a backup using rom manager but it has dissapeared so now i have nothing to lose. can anyoone help.
all i want to be able to do is put ics with very few apps and overclock my cpu
Any help would be great
Samsung fascinate running android2.3.5 with superuser
thx
1. You don't need to be root first before flashing roms.
2. It sounds like you're possibly booting into the stock recovery.
If you want to flash ICS, just follow the steps in that section 3 of the guide you've already been using.
I tried but it failed on step 9/10
So you're saying that it fails after you press start in odin (flashing the stock EH03 package)? What error are you getting and when exactly is it happening?
If you're not on any rom and just on stock EH03, I'd think you should be able to just odin the CWM recovery and install ICS from there.
not sure what the exact message was but yes after i hit start it initalized did nothing for about 3 minutes of the five and got a fail message
And you're sure you're using the correct files and selecting the right things in odin? Make sure the stock EH03 rom is in the PDA section, the atlas 2.2 file for PIT, and repartition is checked. Could possibly be a bad download too, I'd maybe try redownloading the files and trying again. Also, are you using Odin 1.3 that was linked in the guide?
Alternatively, you could just try flashing the CWM4 fixed for CM7 in odin, then three-finger into recovery and flash ICS from there.
Oh and just making sure you're getting into download mode the right way, I personally pull the battery, that way it doesn't reboot after you flash whatever it is you're flashing. If none of that works, I'd try a different USB port/cable. Is odin recognizing the device properly?

Device not found on bootloader.

After flashing a ROM when i tried to flash the kernel, i get an error of device not found.
I searched online and found there is a device listed on Device manager named "Android USB Devices" and i need to update the drivers from there...
Please help !!!
AW: Device not found on bootloader.
install pdanet tool
Tried that... still not working
Sure you using fastboot?? Device not found is an ADB error. Fastboot would say waiting for device.
Install HTC sync manager, that will install fastboot drivers.

Have Sync Manager installed.
And yes i am using fastboot.
Can anyone tell me how to i insert a file to my phone's storage ?
Use side load. Turn it on in recovery wait for about 3 to 5 minutes to connect then use adb sideload rom.zip (change filename) and let it copy to the phone!

Failed to write data protocol fault (no status)
I had the same problem. You have to install ADB driver (http://adbdriver.com/) and your HTC One X+ should be recognized by your PC. If not, unplug the usb cable and plug it back in.

[Q] Updating Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250

Hi,
I would like some help, if anybody has some minutes to reply It would be great
I updated my phone with KitKat and when I finished it didn't want to boot in. It took me back to CWM. Well I format the SD and the phone too. So now if I turn it on it stops at the Google logo at the begining. I have an adb sideload menu in CWM. MY question is that how can I put any zip files on my phone e.g. android 4.3 becouse my notebook doesn't see anymore my phone. Is there any way to push up a zip file on it?
Thank you

First I would recommend plugging in your Galaxy Nexus to your computer and when it shows up in Device Manager, install the attached Google USB Drivers. After you install the drivers your phone should hopefully be recognized, and you can then push another ROM .zip file to your device. Let me know if you still have questions.

I have done this 2x, logobricking my tmo HTC One. I think, the first time I deleted the system directory in recovery. Second time was a firmware update and i buggered that as i nuked my system partition and recovery. Both times, sideloading recovery and rom is the only way that I was able to recover. I didn't lose any sdcard files, but it was a PITA to do. The only other way you might be able to do anything is boot to recovery, mounbt sdcard, and let Windows see the mount, push a rom to the card and install in CWM.
Sideloading will work though, read read read and you should be good to go.
