You can't, you may flash a pre-rooted ROM !
By the isn't it easy to root, then why bother.

You need to downgrade to GB and then use local.prop method. There is a tutorial on the Dev section

Xperia Mini Pro SK17i Update mystery
Xperia Mini Pro SK17i update is mystery, i update my Xperia Mini Pro to 4.0.4 ICS and i experienced certain inconsistencies, after searching for hours it found that i should repair my update and after that do factory default, i did that and it made my phone much better. Now everything is fine accept one think that making me hate my phone, it's battery backup which is very ugly. It hardly goes one day in mostly standby mode.
If anyone else like me is frustrated with only battery issue or know how to fix it than please reply...
This might useful for you ,

hi guys,
I am quite a noob, and trying to figure this xperia thing, after at last I managed to nicely root and flash my htc.
But it seems on xperia it is all working different. What I need, is generally to delete bloatware, to do so I need root.
But to get root I need to flash a ROM first? In htc it's rooting so that you can flash roms. It all gets me confused.
Is there a way then to root without any weird downgroading/flashing roms?
Agnes
If you are on gingerbread you can root it on older Firmware than .62/.69, otherwise you must downgrade and upgrade again. Just Check out my signature

If you want to remove bloatware apps it's easier to remove them from the zip package before you flash the rom.
Open the the rom using 7zip or similar program (open archive NOT extract it).
Then go into the system folder and there is an app folder (system/app).
The app folder contains pretty much most the app's that are on your rom.
Just go through them and delete the app's you don't want, there are plenty of lists around of safe apps to delete/remove, there are some on here and if you google you will find more.

No you can't flash the kernel from the phone, you need a PC and flash it using fastboot
For all the kernels check development forums

U olny want root right..?
See if you want a custom kernel then flashtool is the only way.
But if you only want root use this tool.. I have the same phone and it worked like a charm for me..
