year after official release jelly bean has passed and I've accepted it the 3D functions for my evo 3D missed and it is not even required. It will be at least robust, stable version with no data drops and other issues if not require 3D capabilities? I'm not a developer so I do not know what the main problem with the EVO 3D from similar models that already have a stable JB, why not simply do a fork of cyanogen mod? I read that version of johnyslt, helicopter88 and agrabren are more for experimentation than for everyday serious use without serious problems,

I suggest you try the PAC-Man ROM. You will find it in the CDMA section, but it does have a GSM version, don't worry.
All works awesomely, it has all the features of aokp, cyanogenmod and paranoid android in one rom. I highly recommend it

He asked for a stable ROM. PAC isn't stable on GSM. It has a serious bug which Chris the developer knows about which causes the status bar to crash and is persistent across reboots.
I think the most stable one is the CM or Slimbean ports, I've used both extensively but my preference would be the slim rom.
Either can be used as a daily driver.

At the moment I am running Mean ICS rom. What do you think is the best ICS ROM for daily use?
Aosp : 3d Anorexia and Sense: Cool Sense in my opinion of course
I just went from Mean ROM to MIUI and like it a lot. Takes a little getting used to but it's very clean and stable (so far)

Yes sir, i had tried v3.6. But now i'm back to v3.5. I think v3.5 has better battery life. What about you sir ?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I do agree with you. 3.5 does have a better battery life but not by much. But I will take a little better than not at all. All in all, this rom is probably one of the best sense roms out there.
Are you s-on or s-off?
If you're s-off, you should give sense 4.1 a go, with that i mean viper3D.
I'm GSM myself but it is a rom for both GSM and CDMA.
Here's the thread: http://forums.infectedrom.com/showt...-presents-Viper3D-(Nightly)-welcome-to-future
For me it's the most stable rom yet, though i use the forbidden kernel with it.

Honestly, I do not know if anybody will ever get 4g working on a sense4.0/4.1 rom. Htc hasn't and probably won't release the source code for working 4g unless they upgrade our evo's to sense 4.1. I don't mean to sound like a wet blanket but that's what it seems like right now. We can still hope though.

Yeah, as far as I know, there are no wimax phones with sense 4 or higher. They're all lte. So no one can port drivers either. But, it may happen since the devs we have are talented.

Just out of curiosity, are you looking to change from MeanROM ICS? Some of the ROM's that have been mentioned have more mods and features integrated, but I think Mike (mikeyxda) tends to focus more on fixing problems with the stock ROM than mods and themes, since those can always be added based on user taste.
SOS M uses MeanROM ICS as a base, so if you want a clean base with more mods integrated, a de-Sensed ROM or a different loook you might want to try that.

I had just asked to get an idea. Right now I have MeanROM with mods (basically all the ones you suggested in the development thread), so idk how much switching to something like CoolICS would add. I am thinking of changing to the "forbidden" kernel, although it seems a bit complicated

Hi,
I'm planning to replace my stock ROM with one of these two (AOKP or CM), but I don't know which one should I choose. What differences are between AOKP and CM10.1 and which one do you recommend?
Thanks

Trust me, I've searched before I opened the thread but I didn't find any versus threads (CM vs AOKP) for Evo 3D.
I just wanted to gather some information from users which have installed one of these two ROMs, to find which one would be better for me (which one is smoother, which one is better on battery life, which one has more features, which one is more stable, etc).
Which one do you recommend?
Thanks
I try both I like cm 10.1 but in my thinking every person have his own thoughts and likes/dislike , so I prefer try both which one you like stay with it and enjoy it...

Why not both and paranoid also? Head over to the cdma version and get PACMan rom, it has gsm version also, and it combines aokp, cm10 and paranoid. I have it for a few days and I prefer it over cm10 simple or aokp
Sidenote: you do know that for any jb rom you need to be s-off and downgraded to hboot 1.49, right?
I'm already S-off and with HBOOT 1.49.0007. Hmm, I didn't knew about PACman rom for GSM until now. I guess I'll give it a try, thanks.

On the first page of pacman you only find version 19, 4.1.2 jb, but in the last few posts someone gave the link for the gsm v20 with 4.2 jb. Both work nicely.
I have tried Helicopter88's Rootbox rom that is supposed to be similar, but it seems to have less stuff than pacman and a bit laggy... Pac ain't laggy, so i will stick with it
Thanks. It works great except for some reason I can't get my sim card to work on pacman or any other 4.2-based ROMs.

In the end I've picked CM10.1, because of functional BT and Wi-fi tethering. On PACman the BT didn't worked and on AOKP the Wi-Fi tethering didn't worked and my SD card wasn't recognized. All three have camera/gallery issues (not a big problem for me). From all of them, the PACman has more customization settings. All three are nice ROMs.

What ROM in your guys opinion is the best right now im curious about the JB rom where can i find that ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37061598
This is the main cm 10.1 unofficial port. There are other cm 10.1 ROMs for this phone but those have extra mods and customizations. So there's the complete clean cm 10.1 port, its still being worked on and there a new nightlie update built every 4th night I think. As for bugs you can find in the thread. But the only ones I am concerned about is video tearing and gaming isn't so great but battery life and smoothness is amazing.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
so i just got my One and i just don't like sense. I've been using CM since CM 7 days. after I got my One, i immediately unlocked it, installed TWRP, and flashed the latest CM 10.1 nightly. i even tried several different nightlies and the problem persists. basically, the screen doesn't turn on after hitting power button to unlock the screen. the buttons light up, but the screen doesn't turn on and sometimes it does turn on but to a blank black screen. i never had this issue with CM before and it's really bugging me. right now i'm using a custom ROM with HTC Sense crap and it runs fine but i'm really missing the vanilla android experience. I did do a lot of research on this and on the CM thread, people seem to be having battery life issues or wake lock issues; not this. Does anybody know why it's doing this and a way to fix it? Thanks!
Maybe try a Google edition rom and see if that works? Not sure

just installed a Google Edition rom and it works fine :good: (with known bugs). i hope CM 10.1 merges GE code real soon to make things more stable and bug free cuz i really miss customizing the quick setting tiles, system theme and battery percentage feature from CM lol

Yeah this GE rom is developed from a different base from AOSP, they only appear identical on the surface.
What im hoping is that existing developers takes the GE rom code as a base to create new custom roms that integrate CM and AOKP options including themes and settings tweaks.
And sorry to say but I've never had that power button issue w any of the multiple nightlies of CM10.1 I've flashed on my phone.

I honestly think the CM and AOKP teams should halt all progress on their current nightly builds and start working again w the new code. Who knows, maybe they are planning on that.
And yes, your phone may be defective, never heard that particular problem from other CM users on the developers thread.

I'm running a Virgin Mobile Evo 3D with the ENG HBOOT and TWRP.
With KitKat roms I've tried (specifically the two latest versions of this one), I've experienced a lot of visual glitches that seem to increase over time, eventually causing the entire display to freeze and requiring a reboot. These problems only seem to occur on KK and not other ROMs I've tried. Is there any fixes that anyone has encountered, outside of hoping the next release of the ROM fixes it?
Thanks!
liquidsmooth has a new kk rom out and i've had no tears with it . however there are mobile data issues with the cdma version i hear the gsm version is proving quite stable .
