Dear friends
I need help here,, I need 4 parts official Android ICS 4.1.2 to install it because i have a WiFi problem that requires this type of installation according to some articles
Can you please guide me where i can download it??
Thanks
What guide exactly were you following? Whatever it is, I'd love to see the guide that says 4.1.2 is ICS. Its not, it's JB. So do you want 4.1.2 or 4.0.3? No matter, download if from Samfirmware.

No harshness intended at all mate. If I was being harsh, I wouldn't have told you where to download the firmware from, I answered your question.
A little pointer such as I posted will not hurt at all. Please double check what you post before posting. I for one am put off helping someone if the basic info is incorrect. Hence, no harshness intended, just a little pointer to get your facts straight.

Some firmwares like this have torrent links. Check the build number as per your requirement and flash.

You can upgrade it and there is plenty of threads here about it. I suggest you to read more before doing anything.
Basically if your phone is rooted, get Odin, download ROM you want and flash it according to instructions.

No.
If you have all the tutorials you need then follow them.
End of topic.
PS: if you have a clear question then ask it first but dont reply to someone helping you by "I have all the tuto I need" but I have X or Y question.
It works like this here: you ask a clear question nicely, you will probably get a clear answer.
Anyway your topic sucks because that's a lack of respect for all those who bothered putting a tutorial to explain how to do.
You can not use a basic search and yet want to "upgrade your phone"??

You can flash any ROM designed for your phone model. You might want to use one which is released for your region so your modem works well.

The M250K in your baseband version makes me think this is a Korean variant? Personally I'd probably ask a question in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097347 before flashing anything.

U might try downloading the ROM for ur device, then follow this steps:
1. Copy the ROM to Ur memory
2. Put in into Recovery Mode (when the phone is booting press (VOLUME UP + HOME)
3. Depending of the ROM u gonna flash u ll follow the steps for the installation, but remember before flashing any ROM different to the one u already have always WIPE DATA TO FACTORY.
4. Flash the ROM
5. Restart
Note: Ur phone doesn't need to be rooted to change the ROM

The website is called xda developers, not xda beginners. Pretty much everybody is writing tutorials and ROMs etc is doing it on their own time, for free. That time they have spent is a lot longer than the time it would take you to read a little and understand exactly what you need. So many people manage to change their firmware every day thanks to this site, without clogging up the message board with the same question that god knows how many people have already pointlessly posted this week alone.

So here are the steps I followed to install jelly beans today on my Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 (AT&T):
My existing OS was official ICS (based on updated from AT&T)
1) I followed this tutorial: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-sgh-i777-att-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-supernexus-rom-109992/
2) After reading the tutorial, I came to know that before installing jelly beans, it requires: custom recovery (e.g., ClockworkMod Recovery) installed
3) Bases on the link provided in the tutorial, I did this: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s2-i777-att-root-clockworkmod-recovery-76868/
4) As soon as I did this, in Odin, it was successfully passed, I say yellow traingle with i9100 on it..
5) I took battery out and put it back and still I was not able to turn ON my phone and same yellow traingle with i9100 on it...
6) I tried switching this:
Pull the battery and leave it out.
Hold down volume button and plug in the USB cable. (PC will supply the power)
This should boot the phone into download mode.
7) Finally, after online research I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18859438&postcount=199
8) It was a relief then my phone was started after performing the stock install (based on above link). - Then I realized that it was gingerbread - so basically I was in old version of android.
9) Since the above link says, STOCK, so I was assuming that it is stock version so I should be able to get the official updates from AT&T. and get ICS atleast to be back at the point where I started.
10) I went to setting > software update.. - It downloaded update and finally it was done and it is 2.3.6 version (still gingerbread).
Now I don;t know if I have the original stock version ? If yes then why I didn't get ICS update since AT&T have already released the ICS update and that's how I got my update before I tired all this ?
Another confusion is that, if this is not stock version then I should have not been able to even download any software update, but I was able to do this and android version got updated from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6..
Can anyone please guide me in a right direction, what exactly happened and how to get ICS at least or jelly beans ?

Don't be discouraged by the Pirate troll squad. Trolling is all that they know how to do.
It could be that you need to try updating later. I don't know if AT&T's servers put a limit on the number of updates that are available at a certain time and for certain users. They like to throttle everything else. So, it wouldn't be overly surprising. It could just be a matter of restarting the device and attempting to update again. The fact that you were able to acquire one of the updates shows that you are able to get them.

Thank you Shawn - PM sent...
1. OTA updates won't take you from GB to ICS. You have to use kies or download a ROM from here.
2. You need to search and read the stickies for this device. They will give you everything you need to load cwm on your phone and from there you can flash away.
3. Just as a heads up from a fellow android lover, if you post in xda about issues you are having running ROMs or using walkthroughs from other sites, you are asking to get flamed. I am not condoning it or anything, just letting you know what to expect.
4. If after reading the stickies and researching, you are still having an issue, post back here or even shoot me a pm. There are plenty of helpful people on xda, we just want you to learn rather then be spoon fed. It's the whole give a man a fish vs teaching him to fish thing.

With all due respect to "other sites", don't use them. Everything you need to root, get CWM, and flash what ever rom you desire is right here in this very forum(i777). Whatever you flashed from another site could have possibly contained some i9100 stuff that borked the install. Read the stickies and you'll be fine.

Find the CM10 thread in Development, download the rom & put it on your internal/external SD card (or use the Odin version if there is one if you prefer). Either way, follow the install instructions on the first page of the thread to the letter. Done.
No need for anyone to give you numpty instructions here when they're already in that thread.

Hey,
So I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 to ICS 4.0.4 before 1-2 months. The new graphics and extra features looked really great at first, but 2 hours after using it on normal applications (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.) It froze and did nothing, like literally just freezes at the screen it lagged on. This has been happening continuously for the past 2 months and I'm really sick of it, I upgraded my phone and my dad's one (both SGS2I9100) using Samsung Kies, ever since that, it just keeps freezing like 4 times a day and I have to take off my battery and re-put it so it can reset since nothing will do this.. The old the firmware I had was the really amazingly going well and never lagged even once (I can't remember which firmware though). I'm a total noob, I didn't and don't have my phone rooted or some stuff like that, expect downloading APKs off the internet lol.
I really want someone to help me in this, I know there must be a solution since I don't think I'm the only one who has been annoyed by this, specially when it happens on a daily routine. I searched over the forums and found nothing. I know there must be something talking about the issue but I'm too nooby to understand the article titles which might be a solution of my problem.
Please help me in my problem it really bothers me and xda is my last hope...
Thank you all.
Note: please use simple terms because I really won't understand, and if you do, please teach me them lol.
Well, first of all your up for some reading.
While you go from thread to thread you'll run into the world of ROMs and flashing.
The first thing you have to know is that your device comes with 4 things:
1) Hardware (dah)
2) Kernel (link between Hardware & OS)
3) ROM (OS)
4) Modem (Baseband for your country / Region)
You are actually on 4.0.4, It's Kernel is known to suffer the brick bug issue.
Flashing is used to get the best from your device, in relation to your personal user experience. You got plenty of options like Stock Roms and Custom Roms, as well as Stock Kernels and custom kernels.
When flashing stock roms you get the chance to get rid of your carrier stuff (bloatware and animation boot) by getting an unbranded ROM (samsung official stock rom), you can either go down to previous versions (Gingerbread, ICS 4.0.3) or even go up (Jelly bean leaked ROM). Carrier branded or not, it's just a matter of choice.
When flashing custom roms you get a whole lot of roms to choose from. The most common are CyanogenMod (CM), RR (revolution remix), Omega and etcetera. These roms take the best of the stock roms and leave the worst, so you'll get a more personalized experience.
When Flashing custom kernels your trying to get the best performance for your ROM, this means you can use a stock ROM with a custom kernel.
Modems are basebands that let your carrier network function in your region / country, so if you flash a modem, your network might not work, so you'll have to flash another modem and so on.
Check all that out and if you decide to go on flashing, we are here to help you on the easiest / safest way to do it.
rembember to read and re-read all first.
you did notice this is now your official post right?
Okay I kinda get it, can you kindly please send me links that will help my problem? I'd rather downgrade with Stock ROM than a costum one.
Another thing, will it affect anything that has to do with my Carier? and does my phone have to be rooted in order this to work? If so how can I?
Many thanks.

try sammobile.com
they have plenty of stock roms.
I'd personally advice you to get 4.0.3 stock ROM. What's you carrier? I could look it up for you while you learn about flashing/downgrade.
That's what I was thinking of too, and it's Orange IL (Israel)
I need you you to tell me how do it too please

The best option for you is to get Mobile Odin Pro, got 5 bucks to spare in google play?
After installing that, what should I do?

You really should start reading. The people who posted above didn't get all the knowledge by inventing it by themselves, but through searching, reading and trying to follow rhe guides. Search for the threads that are made for people like you who are quite new to this

There are 2 types of people: those who do not like to read and the rest who like. Then those who like may not understand. Now, those who do not read and those who read but don't understand actually contribute 99% of the posts in every forums you visit.

When the guy doesn't read it was a good advice to start doing it, because it's not really allowed to ask everything that is allready asked so many times.
When he actually does read, but doesn't understand (which I don't think because he's asking basic question about steps he must take) then it's maybe better to rethink if he's really going to flash something because he doesn't know what he's doing

Okay, so I did some reading and figured out that I needed to root my phone, I'm on this thread which was recommended by many people http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719 . Am I doing it the right thing? since I want to downgrade to stock 4.0.3?
Second question, I downloaded the CWM zip and extractred the CWM file on SDCARD, it says reboot to recovery, how can I do that?

Why don't you just flash a stock rom through Odin? No offence but I'm serious, the lack of knowledge you show here by asking about Recovery to me seems to be a sign you shouldn't root it at all, and learn a whole lot more about flashing and more if you want to.

These all aren't stupid questions, because everybody had to go through them the first time. It's just that all the questions have allready been answered here on xda, so that's why you've been told to search and read for yourself.
Here's an article that can be helpfull:
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/08/how-to-install-firmware-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-with-odin-video/
If you don't fully understand it, please look into the guides in the S2 section.

Hi guys my dad just bought me a phone and I've been researching and it appears to be a fake. It's model number is is still gt i9300. I saw a previous thread and someone had the exact same one and he was able to root and get it to the actual stock rom of the real gs3. There must be a way to do this but I need someone to give me a link to a specific tutorial to do this. It runs 4.1.1 and still has the specs of the s3 just not the Samsung apps and isn't made by Samsung.. Someone please reply and tell me what I can do. I'm still a noob at this stuff so try to explain everything in depth.. Thanks. Btw here is the link to where the guy said he was able to get to stock rom of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018881
Try downloading odin 3.04 and the latest firmware from sammobile.com

I will try the Odin thing right now btw and tell you how it goes
Sorry mate, but since your kernel version and compilation is not a Samsung genuine phone, wich means that will not work with Odin for sure! LOL
