Hi I was wondering if there was a touchwiz port that supports the 1080p screen for the HTC DNA? I know many of you don't like it, but I just like the fluidity of touchwiz on the s4. Thank you
Use cm 10.1 with apex or nova, several touchwiz themes in market. Honestly though, you should probably get an s4. I personally think their overlay isnt near as nice as sense.

Haha i was expecting that answer. Yeah but I really think upgrading to an s4 now, is such a waste of money. The only thing new is a couple of sensors, bigger screen, and better processor. The dna has a big screen already and a really good snapdragon s4 pro. all i want is touchwiz
I could have got an s4. Played with it. Didnt think it was that much better than the dna, especially at the cost. I think htc builds a better phone but samsung has more gadgets. Wife has a note 2, i came from a gnex. When i weighed the cost, my dna was free at best buy, i couldnt pass it up. Touchwiz is cool on hers, but i want to root it and put aokp or cm on it, she wont let me, lol. Good luck dude!

The DNA and S4 have the same screen size. In the demo model of the S4's I messed around with I found the screen on my DNA to be far better. The sensors are the same, but the S4 and touchwiz utilizes them better. Hardware wise, the HTC One and Butterfly S are IMO the only devices superior to the DNA.

Yeah all I want is to try touchwiz on the dna, I came from nexus 4 and galaxy s3. I enjoyed both phones especially the smoothness that came along touchwiz. HTC always had a better build quality but innovative sensors seems to be the eyecandy for people. So does anyone know a link where I can get touchwiz for xxhdpi phones like the DNA
There is no TW at all for the DNA. Are the Sense and CM based roms laggy in some way?

Just minor lags in sense 5 and 4+. Cm10.1 is currently little to buggy for me and I rather not have the google ui. Touchwiz is smooth on my nexus 4 and I wanted to try it out

On any HTC forum(Inc, Rezound, Inc 4g, etc.) all I hear is how much Samsung's Touchwiz is terrible and one of the worst UI's. I'd like to hear what the other side of the fence has to say. The only smartphones I've owned are HTC phone's, original Incredible and now Rezound.
I decided to snag up this bad boy to keep my unlimited data with a subsidized upgrade. The question is which do you think is better. I've always liked Sense and love their Widgets like the weather, clock, calendar, calculator. I like the overall feel of Sense, too. I like AOSP and am aware of the RIL issue that faces it, possibly all to well because of the whole Rezound and Protekk issue. If the SGSIII does get AOSP, I will probably most likely stay with this. That's probably what got me liking Sense so much because I had CM7 forever on my Incredible.
I'm faced with the dilemma of either keeping my Rezound or SGSIII and selling the opposite. If I were to keep the Rezound, I would prefer to sell the SIII BNIB, but I know it'll be hard to not take a peak, none the less activate it and play around with it.
So what are your thoughts on both UI's?
Is just pwrsonnal preferences,I like touchwiz features like percentage and notification toggles, but sense 4.0 does look better then the new touchwiz the looks too Much like gingerbread

Coming from an HTC Sensation, in can honestly say that HTC has the better Widgets but Touchwiz Nature UX has a better overall feel. HTC Sense feel bloated by all the unnecessary "eye candy". This is coming from someone who was a diehard HTC fan and hated Samsung. Touchwiz UX has blown me away and I really don't miss HTC Sense. I love my S3

Sense is terrible and one of the worst UIs.
J/k
Being on an incredible myself for so long I can say that I never truly liked sense because of how laggy the launcher was. I prefer perfectly smooth launchers and Samsung always seems to have that down (except for the gimped AT&T note). This phone is definitely no exception.
However, I love the look of sense 4.0 and wish Verizon had a One X variant. I like how HTC allows their customers to unlock their phones while Samsung doesn't seem to care. Then again I remember reading about how the AT&T One X was locked down, yet the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is easily unlockable. Difficult to say who is the most dev friendly with all these inconsistencies.
So basically I like Touchwiz more than Sense 1-3.5, but I like Sense 4 more than Touchwiz.

I own a s3, nexus s 4g, and a evo shift 4g......also have a close friend with the evo 3d.Now sense looks beautiful, pure google was nice with the quick updates, but TW by far is the best experience i've had..Alot of features such as lockscreen weather, battery percent, quad lockscreen shortcuts, etc. are all features we were asking devs. to incorporate in their roms all come stock in tw.Also all the motion options and voice controls are hard to let go.....

God I hated Sense on my Evo 3d. No copy and paste from the dialer to start. Remove sense (install a clean rom) and Caller ID breaks. Plus a whole bunch of other small annoyances that add up to a whole lot of frustration. Maybe the new version is better but I'll never go back to Sense.
Sense ui.....=HTC bloat.....imho
Loved the 4 htc devices I have used, but they sure ran nice on CM....g
I think htc lost their way. I loved sense on wm6.5 on my hd2, especiLly the hacked ROMs that increased the icons. I preferred that GUI to their android GUI (which was based on their wm GUI originally). I have most of myold devices (all the way back to a Psion Orhamiser!) And its clear HTC once had really cool devices. Now they are ME TOO. No real differentiation. Samsung is winning at the moment.
But watch out for ASUS. They will appear from nowhere in the mobile market with outstanding devices (much like they have in the notebook market and now the Microst tablet).

So... I have the DNA and im getting the dreaded Sim card error even after the update.... Verizon has offered to replace the phone with any other device besides the GS4, because there is no stock of the Gs4 yet.
What would you choose and why....
Im thinking I just just get the GS3, because its S-OFF and i can run cyanogen Mod 10.1 easily....
But I havent used a motorola in a long time, and Maybe it would be fun to have a Razr HD MAXX, for insane battery life. that could be fun...

IMO going to the S3 would be a step backwards. I would either wait for S4 to come in stock, or get a Note II. Without having S-OFF on my DNA I would much prefer the Note II, and overall actually even with S-OFF I would still probably prefer the Note II.
Any idea how long it takes for warranty replacement stocks to build up? A month? If so, ill just wait and snag the Gs4...
If not, i agree the Note 2 is probably my best bet. A friend had one and I actually kind of enjoyed using it the other day. Its big, yea, and its screen is only 720p... but could i really tell? NO....
I cleaned the contacts on my sim, and reinserted it.. I hope to stay with the DNA, but if this is giving me hell consistently sounds like i should go Note 2.

Once you have tasted the DNA Screen & Speed, you will disappointed with the GS3, I got the GS3 and Yes you will really tell 720p resolution Cartoonist noticeable same goes to the Note II. HTC One or SG4 JB 4.2.2 ROM you will fly with 1.7 - 1.9 GHz Quad Core
honestly, i wouldnt trade this phone for the One or any samsung. i love how thin and sexy this phone is. has more than enough speed. and i love sense 5. stick with the DNA
The S4 is smooth. I've used it. Nature UX, while filled with bloat is more appealing to the eye than Sense.
Both machines will not have a noticeable performance difference. Scores don't mean diddly, reviews don't mean crap either. Drop by a store, spend 30 minutes with one, and see for yourself.
If I HAD to trade and couldn't have a S4, the two ONLY two phones I would get are a Note II and a Nexus 4.
I have used both in person and s 4 was faster imo.

Htc updated the international model to 4.2.2 but knowing HTC it wont be long this phone will quit having updates from htc and if it does it will be year later. I used like HTC when I had the Sensation but after owning the Amaze I became very disappointed with them. Lack of support and dev support were just or worst than LG. But I did played with the One and the S4 side by side and like both. Like there are stuff I like about the one just are there stuff I like about the s4. By better he means 13MP than 4MP with a bigger block for more light. I played with both phones today and the s4 beats it one on day light where you will be using the camera 90% at time. Also S4 low light feature is not bad.. But when HTC comes out with a new Sense version is sad but they will not put it on the one. just like they did with the rest of their devices.. The only reason I would get the one if for something different. I've been jumping back and forward with samsung and htc.. Now LG is another story, I wont be spending my money with them because they dont have good support.

Overall, the camera is better in the s4 than the One. I've played with two sets of demos of each phone and tested the cameras side byside inside the tmobile stores. My findings were, the One had problems focusing on targets that the s4 didn't, also the the One pictures are not as clear and detailed as the s4 in both distant and macro shots. The one most definitely has a slight advantage over the s4 regarding low light shooting, but when it comes to the average user everyday use, you'll be shooting in good to decent lighting and you'll want good sharp detailed photos from them!
I'm just sayin

Having always had Samsung phones and loving them till s3 with all of the bloat, I was really thrown off by touchwiz. It is too bulky and feels laggy, not to mention it makes interface plain ugly. To me, every app on htc one makes android more appealing, while s4 does opposite. I ended up rooting and putting 4.2.2 on my HTC one with elemental x kernel and ordroid Rom... My god... This thing flies, and battery easily outperforms any device I've seen.

I had a galaxy s2 and and galaxy note 1. I loved them both and they did their job nicely.... But.... I just never like the build quality, plastic just doesn't do it for me. I found myself going back to my old HTC inspire all the time just because I like the feel of the aluminium. I caught back and forth between the s4 and the one. I choose the one for a few reasons: the body is awesome, the screen is insane, feels amazing in your hand. I hate buttons, I lactually like the HTC setup of home and back only. The s4 cool features I realized I would never use, only to show off with haha. And most of all for me, the camera on the one in low light is freaking amazing!! I live were there's no sun, so this is a big deal for me. Hope this helps, and go ahead and ask any questions or concerns, I am well experienced in both phones.

Lol I believe everyone had to go through the tough decision between the HTC One and the S4. I sure did...I stayed at BestBuy for about an Hour before I walked out with the One. The phone is incredibly smooth out of the box, very snappy and the screen is beautiful (accurate). The battery is good but it is no Note 2. I guess HTC kept a 2300mAh battery to keep the phone thin. You won't feel any creeks when you hold or squeeze the device unlike the S4. No doubts at all. I also came from the Old Galaxy Note and now, I'm missing the large display. I don't like how the Note 3 looks so I'm waiting for the HTC One Max!

How about flashing roms? The s4 has some issues with mf3 firmware. only root now, no custom recovery.

Our recoveries are all fine. The only issue is if you update your hboot you might have trouble with s-off. But right now there are ways around it. All is good over here and we can use all the international roms as well.

Thanks @xcrazydx. I appreciate your comments. You make a good case for the one. Still loving the rocket though so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Might just keep it until it dies.

No problem dude. I am liking the one. The volume and power buttons are in a stupid place but I'm used to it now. I still love the skyrocket as well. It is a great phone.

I just switched from the S4 and I could not be happier. It feels more solid than the S4.

I had the One a couple months ago for a while, have an S4 now. If the two phones could procreate and make one phone with the best features from both, it would be the best. Loved the audio and metal frame of the One, but no removable battery and no MicroSD. I think the S4 runs a lot more smoothly, and has more flexibility with the SD, but rear speaker makes sound quallity ridiculous. Also my biggest complaint right now with Samsung is the MF3 update that locked down the bootloader (aka no custom ROMs). HTC gives you instructions on their website to unlock the bootloader (unless something has changed since I had my One). Albeit I'm still preferring the S4.

I'm not sure how you figure the s4 is smoother. It's definitely got lag and it's choppy. The one does not lag and it's not choppy. I've had both and the one is far better in transitions and feel.
You are right about not having removable battery or sd card. I do miss those from my galaxy devices. That and the button placement are my only complaints with the one.

The One feels much smoother than the S4. Not saying the S4 is slow...but it doesn't feel as snappy as the One. Maybe because all those touchwiz features are memory hoggers.

I found the OS sluggish on the One. I do have to specify I never had the stock rom though. When I got the phone it had been rooted and flashed, although I had installed a rom that was supposedly "stock" with just upgraded kernel. Maybe I didn't get the same experience as you because of that.
Also I forgot to mention the lack of a home button. Ridiculous. I tried the logo2home mod but that's still IMO a major design flaw of the One.
