When I was downloading the Xperia X series white papers, I came across this.

There was software binaries for 5.1.1 as well.
I think this will make it easier for custom ROM development.
I think nobody saw this so far ,it seems to be released on Feb 19.
Sony said the update will arrive quickly. But I don't expect that it will come to m4 aqua till April or may 2016.

software binary for 5.1.1 tulip included, compiled with it and got the same result freeze on sony logo. tried to change the kernel booted and keep rebooting giving bluetooth share error...
Yes, on github are many respo with "tulip" in name... worst xperia e3 and m2 have binares...

Nowhere in the publication says Sony Xperia M4 Aqua
Its been some time the Binary has the files for M4 (Tulip) if you extract the zip file, and tonystark88 , jeffreyvh and others are already doing the dev work.

In Xperiafirm I only find one stock rom 14.3.C.0.300/R19C which indicates its based on 4.4.2
