How to know if Bootloader is UNLOCKED and more - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hi
I was surfing around and found a very useful code for those who don't know if have bootloader unlocked.
In dialer:
3845#*installed rom model#
Eg.: 3845#*760#
Roll the menu down and you will see "Bootloader Unlock Check"
Click there and then click again in "Bootloader Unlock Check"
Will return Lock or Unlock
It has many other tools you can explore
Hope it helps!

Dial it again, find the unlock checker and open it. It won't unlock/lock it, but it will tell you if it is unlock/lock.

When it should give me the answer, it doesn't. I just get the error and back to desktop.. :-??

The hidden menu does not work properly even on jb..shows my bootloader is locked..its unlocked running cm..best way to check if BL is locked is s/w upgrade mode will say bootloader status unlocked..if it don't say that on s/w upgrade mode ur bootloader is not unlocked..don't flash stuff or u will get security errors or a bricked device!
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app

Wow! It has some nice hidden values!
Thank you very much! Its really helpful... :good:
Worked for my JB.. Screenshot attached for a brief preview of how it looks..

Not for everyone
Sorry men but I think is not for everyone because I do can access to the hidden menu but none of the options say anything about bootloader, maybe is that I can't identify because is abbreviate, if is the case please tell me how is in you're cellphone, I have a P769g running android 4.1.2 V20a by telcel, I alredy know that has a locked bootloader but I don't knew about this "hidden menu" and I wanna tried. Sorry for my errors but I don't write often in english.

Pretty neat menu even has a lot of stuff to test the phone hardware and such.

get an unlock code from your network provider, some people have said that once they removed the simlock its let them unlock the bootloader. if that doesnt work then theres not much you can do untill someone works out another way to unlock it
no fastboot mode.
Theres only one solution I know of, and it may be a crazy one....
Use search first, and read the other 500 threads created on this topic ;-)
Short answer: No, not able to be done yet.

If you want to unlock the boot loader, use the wotanserver.com
* In addition to sim unlock you get an unlocked bootloader.
However, it seems to me that at the moment, this service does not support SXS
Try to write the administration service.

= the post above was completely unnecessary as it does *NOT* provide a way of unlockning bootloader for SXS.

What is a "rootable bootloader"?
For the Croatian members:
I've just called customer service of Vipnet( Vodafone) and they told me that there is no problem, you can unlock boot loader for only 480 HRK (~65€).
Well, if there's no free unlocking solution in few weeks I'll have to milk some cash. It's still better then locked for life.

Pay more for a phone that's SIM-Free and not subsidized by a network. That is the only way.

I'm not seller. I used it on my acro hd and i'd got the bootloader unlock allowed: yes.
What about U/P/Sola

You can also wait till the Sony s1 signature server is online and pay someone to do a full csca unlock. That it's what I'm waiting for. Just to change the unlockable bootloader status to ' yes'

[Q] Jelly bean update from ICS

Hi,
I have galaxy SII GT-I9100.It is a carrier mobile.Carrier is Australia "yes OPTUS' .I got it unlocked from a mobile shop. When i start the Mobile there was ICS Rom with lot of "Optus" applications.Since it is first time i set it to automatic Software update. So it automatically downloaded Jelly bean ROM and installed. But now an Error message comes as "Unfortunately application installer has stopped" also now screen is completely black.I cant do any think now.I tried following thinks to sort this problem
1)Went to recovery mood and Clear an wipe all data.I did this three times. But Still same problem
2)I have downloaded official Carrier(Optus firmware ) http://devsrom4android.blogspot.com/2011/10/samsung-galaxy-s2-firmware-update-optus.htmland installed it via Odin. Then it was worked fine. But again same problem is raised when i set automatic update
How can i sort this problem?
Can i install and android jelly bean ROM which is not a Carrier firmware?
Or can i install any Custom ROM to sort this out?
If used any other software ,do network locked again?
Please help me. to sort this. Thanks for advance.

Forget about the carrier, flash any ROM (remember the 4.0.4 remark).
Galaxysim unlock is the tool to unluck your phone if locked again and it's here at xda for free, it's paid at play store.

[Q] BootLoader status Changed After JB Update

I have a problem, which i have just now found out, Before the Jelly Bean update my Xperia P's Bootloader unlock status is allowed ie YES( i checked it myself and also installed cm9 for sometime), but after the update when i tried to unlock bootloader i couldn't do that, when i checked in service menu i found that Bootloader unlock status has changed to NO, how could this happen, pls someone help me to unlock my bootloader.
Does any one facing the same problem?
u r nt alone.. someone else too reported this... why dun u check it ... just flash back ics and see whether it changes or not
Sent from my Xperia U using Tapatalk 2
is there any way to make it allowed in JB itself?
In my Xperia Go, the Bootloader Unlock status was NO. However, I took the chance and did it anyway. I just followed the instruction to unlock the bootloader and voila! Now the phone's bootloader is unlocked. The only downside is that the phone's data seems to have reset. I don't know whether that was supposed to happen, but I can flash custom kernels now, so the bootloader truly is unlocked.

I didn't do anything special. Like I said, I just took a chance and did it. I have no idea why it worked even though the bootloader unlock status said NO. My phone's unbranded. Maybe Sony slipped up.
