Hello all... new to the Tab and cant get Netflix to work. I have the Gt-p7510 16gb wifi. It cant be my network because a speedtest shows 20mbps down. Any suggestions on what I can do to get the best experience with this? Currently on stock ics because I wasn't sure if it was other roms but it seems to happen on all so far for me. Thanks

Hi all, I've been playing Order & Chaos a bit and love the game but am disappointed that I have to play over a Wifi connection. I've tried the trick of turning on wifi but not connecting it and it doesn't work for me. I'm curious if anyone else with a Vibrant has been able to play over 3G. Also I'm wondering if anyone has thought about developing an app similar to the 3G unrestrictor that the Iphone has that allows them to play over 3G. I'm on MiUi ReVaMpEd 3.1

I play this as well and always been wondering the same thing

There are other devices out there that are able to trick the game into thinking that the phone is connected to wifi by turning wifi on and just letting it scan but not let it connect. I have tried this trick on a couple different ROMs and I'm starting to think that it's not the ROM but the phone itself. I just flashed CM7.1 so I will give that a try later today and report back.
An app to fake wifi would be really useful,

Ya, that would be awesome.
I tried with CM7.1 but still a no go. My buddy has an HTC Inspire 4G running CM7 and he can play straight from the network without having to even turn on his wifi. I'm thinking that it either has something to do with 4G connection or the Vibrant in specific. Maybe if there was a way to fool apps into thinking it was connecting at 4G or thinking that it was a different phone, the Inspire for instance.
There are a lot of games that are requiring wifi download only these days and a way to trick them, in addition to being able to play really cool games like Order & Chaos, would be really great.
Yeah its the 4G, you can also play gameloft games online using 4g, it seems like nobody cares about the few who don't have wifi.

Check your APN.
I had the same problem except I am using CM7. I was about to give up, then I checked my APN.
I noticed my phone had 2 APNs:
1. Simple <--this one was checked.
2. T-Mobile US
I decided to change the APN to T-Mobile, and the game worked over 3g. Finally!!
Good luck!

my tethering seems very unreliable. im using the latest wifi tether apk but thats irelevant as i have used many versions but the problems persist. allow me to explain, im in no way new to android nor tethering. i have followed all the steps to get 4g tethering speeds ( toggle data off, disable 4g re enable and so on) the thing is i cant get a stable connection from my laptop or my xoom for more than 20 mins. the connection either goes idle or the phone just restarts or i simply get disconnected from it. im just wondering whether it' s just me or whether this a common problem among photon users. many thanks and great forum.

I believe the 4G on your phone becomes idle. Just a guess.
I have heard this happens to other Photon users as well. Not sure what the cause of it is or the fix. I'm going to try some things out when I get time and see what mine does. I've never tried to tether for that long of time before. Will post back if I find out anything new.
**I can only test 3G. No 4G in my area.
Are you rooted or using a rom?
**Ignore this (my) post...had something but changed my mind***
thanks. yes rooted & stock

Also if you start wifi tether first,
then turn on 4g ...
4g tether works for me using
wifi tether 2.06

I just tested my WiFi speed on my diablotek d2 pad and it is really slow. I max out at .40 Mbps... It will not go higher that that. I tested the same WiFi network on my phone and it came out 13mbps. The only thing I did Is the replacement of the build.prop so it can look more tablet like and added gapps. I've searched for hours and nothing. I've even tried searching if I can USB tether instead but not possible. Is it mines only or are other experiencing the same thing? Is there a fix? Please let there be.

Browsing the net and playing a net based game, i get really long delays when loading anything. I havent experienced this on my s3, or when i had the dna. Has anyone else had this experience? When it happens i home button the app, open speed test and it tests great. Running 4.2.1Pa build, latest l4 modem, and basic kernel.

Some people don't get the same experience with the new modem
Flash back to the previous modem that might help

Yeah sadly it happened on both, both on stock then on aosp with this rom and l4 modem. Eh oh well.

I'm noticing faster 4g but slower 4g with the new modem. I wish we had someone who could repackage them with 3g from the original modem and 4g from the new one and vice versa, on the thunderbolt we had this, not sure if it's possible on Samsung phones.
Does anybody else get horribly bad download speeds in the play store?

I only have that happen while I'm on wifi at night, normally starts around 4 PM. Youtube is unbearable at night, too. I have Verizon FiOS, could anyone tell me what causes that and any potential fixes?
I'm on Verizon fits too. I get speed test saying im over 20mbs and it's the same on 4g.

It's a known issue, no eta on fix but I returned a guys phone yesterday because of it.
Posted from a Galaxy S4 it was.
