Don't be offended... but...
Basic idea of a developer is that he's able to search for his problem and find it's solution.
Let's assume you build AOSP, now, you are facing bugs (which won't be less), now, will you create a thread asking normal users on how to fix that bugs?
If they would have known, they would have made it too.
Likewise, if you are able or keen to develop for device and can't find something by searching (yes, everything is already present on this site, just needs some searching), I assume you'll have problems at each step.
So, first try to search, there are several guides in Android Software Development Section and Android Chef Central.
There is also Compiling from Source Q&A Help Thread to post you problem.
And, one last thing, starting development with a device like Ace S5830i is itself a very difficult task.

Theming and modding is different from development
Actually, very different

What's up, how's Paraná? Greetings from Rio de Janeiro!
You know, you don't become a developer from an hour to another. I'm 16 years old, and i know it's a long way to go to be a developer. I'm learning a lot with all the members of Xda, like iamareebjamal, Sq Matrix and bieltv.3. Xda have tutorials and guides o' plenty for you to learn. So, i'll be waiting for your AOSP build.

Project [ROM/ANDROID] Android fo HTC MEGA//Updated 15/01/2011

Hello guys,
Here is the official topic where I will write all information, news(good and bad) and everything what I will get in my developing.
I tried to run android for our devices at april, but it was so slow, so it boot nearly 2 days. But from that time I learned a lot to bring up android for our MEGA.
I hope to bring good news soon)))
News:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
28/11/2010: Project has been officially started. Please, do not post everyday "send me android to...", "when it will be?..." and so on. I will post news about any progress in developing, so-be patient. Write only if you:have any questions, bug reports about current version(which will be available soon, i hope); want to be in beta testers team; made/want to make a donation.
01/12/2010: For all of you, who wrote to me about beta test-you are accepted. I don't have an opportunity to write about it for each of you, so I do it this way.
About porting. Firstly, I will try to install android like "native" --> there will be no windows on MEGA after it. I have two ideas about how to do this, but before doing this I need to get some information about possibilities of doing this and after it I'll try to do this. If not-I'll need to recompile haret and do like others tryed-create android with haret.
Write to my PM or to my twitter(fisher51112) about what you want to see on your device:dual boot or "native" android.
05/12/2010: Sorry for "non text" update. There were bugs with opera, so it didn't change my post. For all of you-both sides-"dual boot" and "native"(sorry for my familiarity)-there are possible to do native boot of android, but it is dangerous(now) and I think there will be a problem with bios, but I'm not sure. For dual-boot "side"-I found today my haret7225))) I think I lost it))) It must working good, but I, of cource need to "play" with it to make this working. This summer I get it not working, but I got new errors without crashing WM or something else. I think I need to start from that, and resolve all errors to boot it up))
I also choose image for our mega. This is not tattoo, it something better))) I will use wildfire(buzz) image to use it on our device. It has more similarities in configuration and it will work better then others))
Beta testers-be ready)) When it will be ready, I will choose some of you to test it on your devices.
10/12/2010: I have some progress in developing. I get zImage which is suitable for our devices. Also I will create system.ext to make the first boot of android on mega
And I did some modifications to default.txt, so it almost ready)). If someone can help me to create system.ext - write to my email.
15/01/2011: Sorry, I didn't update news due to health problem. Project is not dead, of course, I will continue working on developing android for our device. It I will have any news-I will write them down here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I will need some guys to test alfa versions of android. So, if you wanna be in beta testers team-write me in PM or in my email:[email protected]
Also, your donations will stimulate my work
My PayPal:fisher511[email protected]
P.s. Sorry for my language. I'm from Russia and my English not perfect. So be loyal))))
Nice to see people interested in porting android to our mega=). Good luck with the project, hope it works well and lot of people will be happy with you (me included)
hope that we will be able to see android up in the phone this time .
i am willing to donate..but a least some beta version...
Waiting for some good news
Good Luck fisher51112!

Beta version release will affect on how fast I can boot it on our devices)))
If you want to be beta tester-write me to my email, but it can be dangerous=)
this is really good news.. i will donate after some screenshots or videos of booting maybe ? =)
fisher51112,
Check your mail please! Will be donating too if it will boot correct and functions will work!
I just starting this port, so be patient )) I hope to bring good news soon))
fisher, i'll do it. but only on selected beta, as i cannot affort to brick my htc. i've on android/wm previously when i am using polaris.
As the OP states, please calm down and stop posting emails and requesting files. If you want to be a beta tester PM the OP.
I will delete those posts and keep the thread clean.
I hope this project turns good.
thanks a lot Mr. Clown... we really need that.. cause i am tired to see ppl asking "is the android ready?" they don't search a little.. forum = search the info !!
GL with the project fisher and u have, all time in the world for this !

Maybe tomorrow I will create new topic where i will post my results. I hope you will support me in developing.

Ok, had some nice news. Guys i am here too.
That's so good. In a word. Support you.
May I ask if you are planning to release the rom in some languages (i.e. russian and english only) or we'll have a wide variety of choices.
I ask because I don't know how it works, just wondering.

Android is multilanguage system. That's why there is no problem in translation.
I see, thanks for answering so fast .

Hi Chris my name is Andrew and i might be able to give you some basic info and guidelines. First i would suggest using a ROM kitchen for basic ROM modding. I would recommend using Dsixda's ROM kitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246 .When you feel confident that you can get on tothe more complex stuff you can check my tutorial about compiling from source code http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667551 .After you get over that then the Internet should become your mentor in advanced source code editing (most of the time anyway but you shouldn't feel shy about asking something if unclear)

Real Android ROM Development

Greetings to all members of the forum.
I would like to ask the more experienced developers of android custom ROMs - "what do you advise to read on this subject?" I'm a student, I study as the programmer, so that the experience is there, but all the articles describe work with the kitchen. I would like to read something more serious, very interested in this topic (the device on Android, but as such this brand no online, as in this forum, respectively firmware this custom not), would like to try.
I would be very grateful for the links. Please, do not send me in Google. He wouldn't help me.
Sorry, for my English)
P.S. Now downloading the sources from the repository AOSP.
P.P.S. Sorry for doublepost.

[Question] Guide for rom compilation.

Can anyone please provide a proper, elaborate guide for compiling roms for miatoll tree? Have time in lockdown and eager to learn the process.
The guides on google are way too generic or backdated. I guess it'll help many people like me if some DEVS took the time to write a guide which shall in turn, in my opinion promote more development.
Come on,some devs got to give something... I know I'm not the only one looking for this.....

Do you think following a "guide for compiling roms" enough to compile roms after roms... it's not so easy. I'm not developer, only was curious to try to build roms for my phone. All information you can find on the internet, just need to search.
If you really want to start and learn, first step is to prepare your PC to android build, ex.:
