Hi all,
I am not a developer at all, but I really like your creations here .
I updated to JB 3.4.0 and I haven't been able to find or create a cifs.ko or md4.ko
Does anybody know how to compile it and would share it here ?
Is there any kernel which already has cifs.ko support ?
Thanks for any help ...

Yes, well, my question is about compiling/developing for Desire X.
If a Q & A section is better ... , so please moderater move it there.
Has someone the compiled files for Desire X ?
Or knows how to compile them and would share a download link ?
Would be a dream ...have been looking for it for hours now.
The cifs.ko and md4.ko allow cifs (samba, windows) allow network shares
to be mounted and viewable as local media on our Desire Xs.

Hi,
I'm searching a way to build my own rom and at the same time to try porting a rom to the desire HD
for the begining, i think that i need to use dsixda kitchen and BEFORE building it, i know that i need to do some modifications like on the update-script and build.prop
what else do i need to take care of ?
i really need that someone give me some advice, help or tips
thanks in advance
i'm also searching how to set up the default home application in a custom rom
i guess that i should modify an xml file under /system/customize OR should this be done under the build.prop file ???
Android is a free system.
But the cooks do not want to give any help to cook the rom on Desire HD.
I also asked for help but I have not received a response.

Well considering this isn't development related, you got the section close.
Better suited would be for the Q/A section.
But anyway, I'll look into it. Shouldn't be too hard. I'll try to post back in a couple hours if I come up with anything.
I think it was my fault.
tun.ko is not compiled as module, it is integrated in the kernel.
So it´s not possible to find it at modules folder
So it is possible to start openvpn.
Just needed to mkdir /dev/net and mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200
thats all.
Sorry for that Thread.
Regards
Hi,
Been trying desperately to get cifs.ko modules for my Lenovo Yoga tablet but am not able to compile one myself.
The source code for the kernel in this device is available from Lenovo at http:// mobilesupport.lenovo.com/en-us/products/yoga_tablet_8?tabname=downloads
Could somebody please compile the needed modules to mount network shares on this tablet? Myself and some friends of mine with the same device would be extremely grateful.
Or maybe one of the Mods can move this post to the Development section if this isn't the right place to ask?
