Hello guys, I'm here because my TF201 seems to be bricked ...
I know, there is a lot of threads about this kind of problems, but I can't succeed to solve mine by reading hundred of threads.
I explain what's happened :
My TF201 has an unlocked bootloader (by asus method), root, and has a CWM (CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4). I was on the lattest ICS build (9.4.2.15). Since october, i know that JB was on TF201, but not mine. So I decide to download the lattest Stock JB version from Asus website and to place it into my SDcard. I reboot my TF201 in recovery (holding down the volume button, then up), I've done a backup. After this backup, I've done a factory reset and I install the new ROM from my SDcard. Maybe I should not do this ... But now, my tablet stay on the bootscreen (Asus EEE pad logo). I can always access to the recovery, so I tried to factory reset and restore my previous backup ... But it didn't work, my tablet still bricked.
So, I went to google, i've read lots of threads for trying to understand whats happened to my TF201. I've read some thread on XDA forum too.
I've tried every solutions proposed, and anyone work.
I've read some articles about ADB. I installed it, but the problems is that my TF201 can't be detected by my computer (Running Win8 64). I installed drivers from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875
But, still nothing, impossible to show my device when I write "adb devices" or "fastboot devices" in windows cmd.
I'm a little bit desesperate, so i came here for writting this thread, hopping that someone could help me to unbrick my TF201 without send it back to Asus (wich cost me hundreds of euros).
I'm going in front of some questions that i've read in other thread :
No i've not TWRP recovery installed.
I haven't got a nvFlash.
Thanks for reading this thread and for your help !
Sincerelly,
Thrakka.
PS : I'm really sorry for my bad english, don't blame me ^^
You can access recovery?
Then you are not bricked.
Why not flash a custom rom?

Primarily because he has cwm recovery and jellybean bootloader. He does not know how to set up his drivers on his computer for fastboot to install the correct recovery for his bootloader.
to the OP, go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1615990 and figure out how to get twrp for jellybean on your prime. TWRP supports flashing roms from the microsd slot so you dont need to push one to your sd. also if you need help getting the naked drivers to work on your prime go the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502 that pertains to others putting it on the prime. they will be more help than the galaxy naked drivers users. FORGET ABOUT CWM!!! IT IS NOT SUPPORTED ON PRIME FOR JELLYBEAN
@ Garret
Yes I can access to recovery, but for flashing a new rom, I need to access my internal SDcard ... But infortunatelly, now I can't.
A thing that I don't understand is when I restore my ICS backup, it doesn't work ...
@ Whycali
I'm gonna try your advice this afternoon.
But how can I install TWRP on my prime without access ... I'm will try with your links ... Hoping succeed ...
I'll give you the results in the evening.
Sincerely,
Thrakka.
I can access to the fastboot mode, but impossible to flash anything ...
I've taken all driver for the prime on my computer, install them.
the command "fastboot devices" work, i can see my prime : 00000 fastboot
but when I try the command "fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp.blob" from www{dot}teamw.in/project/twrp2/93, the result : error: cannot load 'twrp.blob' : No error.
I can't understand.
The directory "/platform-tools" from the ADT is in the PATH variable, and the file "twrp.blob" is in the same directory. Two ways for the fastboot command to find it, but it can't succeed ...
Same problem when I want to create my own nvflash blob file (tuto from androidroot.mobi/t3_nvflash/) with the command "fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash staging ebtblob.bin", the result is the same : error: cannot load 'ebtblob.bin' : No error.
I can't see my mistake ... Could you help me ?
Sincerely,
Thrakka.
PS : as i'm a new member, I can't post direct link to other site where I found tutos, sorry ...

on your pc you need to run the command from the same directory that contains the file you wish to transfer. easiest way to do this is to place the blob in the folder where your fastboot application is then hold shift and right click inside the folder. from the menu that opens choose open command window here. from there run your fastboot commands.

hey, hold up and check your pm. Do not install TWRP for jb if you are still on the ICS bootloader.
you can check which bootloader version of twrp to install by where the nvidia logo is on the bootscreen. bottom center needs ics twrp. bottom right needs Jellybean twrp. By all means if you are still with ics finish the nvflash backups first.

Hello Aduniel: I have essentially the same issue with my tf201. It seems to be hard bricked? (My guess.) If I reboot with Volume Down and Power button, I get a message "This device is Unlocked" in upper left of screen. Also large lettering in center of the screen, "ASUS" and "nNidea Tegra 3" in the lower right.
If I boot with Volume Up and Power button, I get a blank, black screen. (APX mode).
I have set up ADB and naked drivers on a notebook running Windows 7. When I try to connect via fastboot, I get a message <waiting for device>. But it does not connect.
I was wondering if you managed to get your tablet working since Nov. 2013? If so, what did you have to do? I need to know if there is any hope, or have I shot myself in the foot, as they say.
Cheers man,
Jim

Hi anyone willing to help. I have had a friend's TF201 for about a month and have come to the point where I can't get any further. We believe heis device has been bricked during the OTA JB update. nvFlash was never added to device.
I can get it into fastboot, however the device does not show up in device manager or shows in ADB. I have confirmed ADB working by using another device that shows up. I know that it is currently on an ICS bootloader, since the NVIDIA logo is in the center bottom. We have tried a different cable and same results.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: which I have not been able to find any literature on is that when it is booted into fastboot only 2 icons appear: 'Wipe Data" and "Fast Boot" USB Icon. There is no Android icon...THIS confuses and scares me.
Is there any hope for this device? I have done so much research and time on this, but can not come up with anything else. Anyone??
Tried connecting in ADB in Win, Mac and Ubuntu. Not showing up? Totally stumped now.r
Bump.

You do not have access to adb in fastboot. Only in a custom recovery or in the OS.
You do have access to fastboot commands tho if you have the drivers installed.
Having bricked a tf300t with the 4.2 Ota, I feel ya. Make sure you've got the correct drivers. Look at connected devices on your PC, it should say fast boot device, if it does, then your drivers are fine, going into fast boot, fastboot devices in cmd / however you have your fast boot set up. Look for your devices serial number.. It should show serial , if your drivers are correct..

I have tried all necessary things for drivers including the naked driver set for Win. Device wont show up in Linux or Mac environment either. it appears that the fastboot is ICS but it received the OTA JB update. Is there a way to recover from this? The other thing that concerned me is that in fastboot there is no Android Logo (just wipe data, and USB). Is this device recoverable from this state?
You have the upgraded bootloader. They removed a few things but it goes instantly to download mode..... when plugged in to pc. What does it say under control panel / hardware and printers. . When you plug it in. Does it make the tell tale sound?

Actually I think the incorrect fastboot had been loaded before I got it. To my understanding the OTA JB update was applied and then fastboot was added (but if the nVidia logo is in the center, that is the ICS fastboot correct?) So is my problem here that the incorrect fastboot had been flashed?
Hello everyone,
While trying to update TWRP on my Prime I was not paying enough attention and went backwards from 2.7 to 2.6.3.0 and have no OS now.
I can boot into recovery which would be great except I can not seem to get it to mount or recognize my SD card to load a ROM from that.
I can get it into Fastboot mode by typing "adb reboot bootloader" and I can send commands to it while in Fastboot mode, but I can not seem to find a way to send an OS to it through that mode. I have tried loading a ROM by flashing it through Fastboot, but I get errors that "archive does not contain 'android-info.txt" and "archive does not contain 'android-product.txt."
Bummed right now as I had been running KATKISS and liking it and was going to try out Zombi-Pop which is when I was trying to update TWRP and everything fell apart on me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I did find this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/help/guide-t2854495/post54965562#post54965562
Mine boots straight into recovery, but I can get it back to fast boot by connecting it to my computer, opening a command prompt, and typing "adb reboot fastboot" which takes me to fastboot. I was going to follow the directions in the thread but the SKU I have is WW_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711 and I don't see that on the list for the firmware. I think that is because I had run the "upgrade tf201 to tf300" a long time back when I was putting CROMBI-kk on it from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773812
A little more info as I am searching around and trying things. If I try to flash a twrp.blob to it, the computer says it is successful, but there is no blue bar on the table, the tablet is unresponsive, and the computer doesn't see it anymore. I can long press the power button which boots the table straight into recovery and reconnects it to the computer. I can then run "adb reboot bootloader" which restarts the tablet and puts it into fast boot mode.

Get yourself into fastboot mode.
Now follow the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44244313&postcount=12
But where he says to get the TF300 firmware etc get the TF201 instead.

I'll try it. One more question, on the Asus site it lists a bunch of different firmware for the TF201. In my bootloader it lists it as the "WW_epad-10.6.1.27.1-20130711" which I think is from when I made the TF201 to TF300 change.
So... any idea which firmware I would download, or is there a way of getting that information from my tablet without actually getting past Fastboot? It was purchased in the US so I was guessing the latest one for a US SKU?
Thanks
Edit: Should I use the blob from the HairyBean bootloader that I had previously installed?
Fixed
Thank you so much for pointing me to that thread.
I tried the latest US firmware off the Asus site 10_4_2_18 and it installed but when trying to reboot I just got the dead Android guy with the red triangle. So, I reset it and went back into Fastboot and tried the procedure with the blob from the Tf201 to TF300 zip and it booted up to the HairyBean recovery but still a no go on anything any further. So, I guess third times the charm. I reset and went back into Fastboot and ran the procedure with the 10_4_2_17 firmware from the Asus site and that one worked. I am back up and running, just need to work my way back up the line so I can give Zombi-pop another try.
Again, thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
I was trying to install Cyanogen Mod using the steps on their site(cant post the link because I am under 10 posts)
When i got to these steps 6 and 7 under installing recovery is when my TF201 appears to have become bricked
6. Flash recovery onto your device by entering the following command: fastboot -i 0xb05 flash recovery your_recovery_image.img where the latter part is the name of the file you downloaded.
7. Once the flash completes successfully, reboot the device into recovery to verify the installation.
Note: Some ROMs overwrite recovery at boot time so if you do not plan to immediately boot into recovery to install CyanogenMod, please be aware that this may overwrite your custom recovery with the stock one.
I had just run the command in step 6 and rebooted the device as described in step 7. Now my device cant even reboot. I cant get it into recovery or fastmode because holding the volume and power button does not do anything, the tablet just stays stuck on the boot menu. I had unlocked the tablet with Asus' tool earlier today so I can see the "The Devices is Unlocked." message at the top left. Any help would be much appreciated if it is possible to fix this issue without sending it to ASUS(because they will probably end up charging more than the tablet is worth in repair fees).
Some information: Before all this it was running Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1
thanks
some more info.
I can see an APX device with a yellow exclamation mark under "Other Devices" in windows Device manager. Fastboot and ADB do no recognize any devices
i think i bricked my prime i am stuck at the asus logo , i cant get into recovery or anything . i was rooted and i tryed to flash a clockwork recovery , not sure what i did wrong but now i cant do anything. it wont go past the asus logo (the one befor the spining symbol)
is there anything i can do or did i just break my device like a idiot?
plz help
it was on jb and unlocked .
was stock rom ,
Did you try this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514088
I don't believe you're bricked, you should be able to flash a TWRP recovery console using a laptop (window 7 preferred) and Minimal ADB (installed in the laptop)
