As I understand the battery drain issue is only fixed by disable the WiFi location. That being said I have tried all the other proposed solutions. The play store now being officially 4.3.1 I see no difference in the Google services drain. Any word on when a fix is coming?

Not sure what your issue is but I have all my services enabled and play store 4.3.10, Google services is only pulling 1.2%. You might need to do a factory reset
I've done a factory reset. Hence the frustration. Not only that. I now getting drain even without WiFi services on. Confused at this point.

I'm seeing massive drain from this service also. No clue what's causing it. A reset seemed to make things better, but pretty soon it was back at the top (under display) of my battery drainers. There's a lot of complaining about this on other boards. No clue what to do about it. Every solution seems to be a shot in the dark that works for some and not for others.
Google is fully aware of this issue. I'm optimistic in thinking this will be resolved sooner then later :/

FWIW Every phone that I own is plagued with this issue.

I had this issue. Uninstalling maps with titanium and reinstall from play store w/o enabling network services seemed to work for me. hehe Well until I get lost again...
I've had this issue several times. For me. I cleared data on both the play store and services. Uninstall updates on services. Rebooted. Signed back into play store let services update reinstall and all was well. Had to do this on stock, RSL7 and BeanStalk. For me, worked every time. For maps I clear data, uninstall updates. Reboot. Reinstall new version from play store. And all was well. I leave all location services on all the time. It doesn't even register after 16 hours on battery. good luck.

Hi Guys
This issue has been going on for 4 months now, i can rarely download or update an app on the play store because it gives me error 927. Only the odd update or install will work and this happens over both Wifi and Celluar
I have several android devices, 2013 Nexus 7, SGS4, Optimus G Pro, Xperia Z Tablet, Note 1 and the same happens on every single device. If i use a different account after resetting the phone i dont have the issue but the problem is i have purchased £100's of applications on my normal account so i cant afford to use another one.
I have tried wiping caches, factory resets and nothing seems to work. I contacted google and they dont have any idea either!!
I was hoping someone here had a similar issue?
Thanks
I've had a similar error occur for me. Whenever I install/update an app where on WiFi or Mobile Network it would send off and error.
It was a constant annoyance for me.
It stopped when I did this, I headed into Manage Apps>All Apps, and opened Google Play Store, cleared data and cache. And did the same to Google Play Services, I proceeded by rebooting the device next thing I know, my phone starts updating apps .
I hope this'll work for you.

Doesnt make no difference on mine
Hello!
Contact Google, it is their right to investigate this problem, if you've payed that much money for apps, one certainly wouldn't move to another account, tell them about this problem.
Cake...
Yeah they suggested I use another account or wipe the cache. I've tried contacting on 3 different occasions. Each one has been a waste of time

Worst support at its best, try going into play store, clear the data for store and service, and go back to play store and go on uninstall updates.

Just so people are aware, this is still happening, I'm writing this today because things were going ok for a while, but, the play store got updated again, to 4.6.17. It happens on my Nexus 5, HTC Evo 4 G, & galaxy tab 8.9, it happens on different versions of play store. If I create new account, play store works great. I contacted Google as well, basically got pissed cause they were completely useless. Right from beginning I was honest, & told them I was rooted. They basically blamed it on that. Anyways, Google play suck$

Yeah it still happens to me too. Exactly the same issue as your having but only on my main account.
If I keep pressing install it will eventually work but sometimes it takes around 20 attempts.. Google gave me no support either

If you're rooted go into system>etc and look for hosts.
Open it and delete exert line except the "local" one the local one will also contain numbers in the line. Do not delete them.
Restart your device, and try.

im currently running 3.2.25 of google play services and its killing my battery....like i said 43% over screen...im running play store 4.3.11
any recommendations of what i should roll back to for both? for services is there a separate apk or is it same as play store?
Your problem may very well be your location settings. Make sure Wi-Fi and mobile network location is unchecked.

Turning that off does indeed fix the usage issue but still it shouldn't do that even when its on. Hope a fix comes soon.
When ever it does that to me I do a reboot and it always fixes it for me. If the phone feels hot or I've lost 10% quickly I check Battery and it tells me google services is using most of it. Then i reboot and i check it later and it's back to normal. Although it only happens once or twice a month.

I had that with Google Services eating 37% of the battery - higher than the screen, which is normally the big battery eater.
Fixed by turning off Google Now (open the Google App, settings, Google Now "off").
Maybe that'll help you as well.

Hey.
Few days ago, i have updated the google play services to 6.1 version.
After that a new kind of wild wakelock appeared. No idea why. I can't find anything about that one.
This wakelock is called : "wake:com.google.android.gms/.auth.be.proximity.authorization.userpresence.UserPresenceService"
And it's growing all the time, and it happened only after the update. I've lost after i unplugged (80%) ~20% in about 1hr with screen off.
I'm using Archidroid 1 (Newest one) on latest beta of boeffla kernel. And apart from that was everything fine.
Tried to clean Google play services cache and data. No results.
Screens below.
Same thing happened to me today on Nexus 4 with CM11M10
EDIT: I think it is related to WearableService under Google Services, I killed it and the situation has significantly improved. Try doing it on your device and see if it helps.

I probably managed to get rid of the same wakelock.
#1 install Disable Services app from Google Play
#2 open it, go to "system" tab
#3 find Google Play Services, open, find "Wearable Services" & untick it
#4 et voila, ready

I also had this problem. I additonally disabled the following services in Google Play Sevices:
"com.google.android.gms.auth.be.proximity.authorization.userpresence.UserPresenceService"
"com.google.android.gmx.config.ConfigFetchService"
and all other services with the word "fitness" or "wearable" (as my former poster already said)
Hope I could also help
Thanks guys for help!
I have solved this by reverting back to older version
But i ll update to 6.1 today, and try to disable those services.
Thanks again !

Edit: I have seen you use the Galaxy S2 (GT-9100) ... This could be something different from the S3 (GT-9300)
Is there no other thread available that deals this problem with your phone?
Can you say someting about your phone?
Do you really have a Galaxy S GT-9300?
Which Version is your Google Play Service?
Which Version of Android do you use?
Do you use a custom rom?
What is listed at top of the 'Google Play Serices' in WLD? Is it still the same like that posted by the thread starter?
Best wishes

Thanks for info..did what you suggested wakelock went from 9% down to 1%. I also unchecked Nlp and location history havent had any wierd things happen to my device[emoji106]
FirekatV8/FireGearXXX
I tried but no real improvements unfortunately on my Xperia SP (modded stock 4.3), now reverted to stock play services and battery drain disappeared but nothing works...
Update...
I noticed that the battery drain was really greater if the signal quality was bad...
So if I've good signal quality I haven't same drain than if with bad signal...and there was a BIG difference...
It's normal?
Simone"Tuxedo"Monsignori
Xposed framework
Hi there,
i've had the very same problem for a cpl weeks and finally found what worked for me :
I had an Xposed module named 'Disable Google Network Location Consent'.
I just had to disable and uninstall the module (click and hold onto it in the module section of xposed).
Reboot.
et voila!!
Big thanks to my friend AoEKiller here on XDA and in RL for the help on that!
Anyone gets new Google play services? Problem solved or not?

I'm still having this issue! Just found this thread recently and installed "Disable Service" app and unchecked those 'wearable and fitness' services.
I hope it really works! Fingers crossed.
Seems to work for me, this has been bugging me for a while.
But I don't like disabling stuff I don't know what they do. What are the fitness and wearable services?
EDIT:
Thought it worked, it didn't... I will have to monitor WLD to see what casues the wakelocks on my phone. I CAN get rid of it but as soon as I start to install apps it comes back.
Stuffs for android wear?
It seems like nobody else is getting this error. I'm from the moto g 4g forums and I haven't found anyone else with this wakelock. From now, I'm using disable services app, but I thought that with the new play services update it should be fine. Guess I was wrong
Maybe some weird conflict with play services and some app(s) that not all users uses? Bad idea?
Seems that I've partially solved the issue disabling the service:
UserPresenceService
After disabling that service wakelocks.was really solved...
Yesterday my phone starting giving me a google play services has stopped pop up. Seems to happen when I change from WiFi to cell network or vice versa. Its not a one time pop up either....it happens 5 to 6 times in a row. Occasionally need a reboot to make it stop....and after the reboot it still comes up once or twice

Mine started that yesterday too, but only when i restart the phone. A symbol also popped up on the notification bar that looked like a sim card with a question mark in it. Had to do a battery pull to make that go away.
im on sprint, and mine did the same thing yesterday evening. i get 2-3 pop ups immediately after reboot and then another 2-3 within 2 minutes of the reboot.
Yup me too. Says location services has stopped a few times then Google play services has stopped a few times. Happened randomly yesterday and the syncing icon was stuck in the status bar. The error messages pop up a few times after reboot as well but then don't see them again. Just a minute ago had the phone start locking up real bad and was lagging like crazy. Rebooted and it started up and after about 20 seconds it rebooted again on it's own. Back to normal for now *knock on wood* but that's the first "problem" I've had with this phone. Think Google pushed an update that our G3's do not like.
I was thinking the same thing.... Google play services must have had an update pushed out and it's not playing nice for us. I didn't read anything about a play update though.

I've had the SIM with question mark since day 1. Think it's because not on Verizon. My Google play store stopped working until I restored. This happened about a week ago though.

Add me to the list. Both Google Play Services and Google Location Services are going screwy ever since about 10am PST.
It's starting to become unusable. I'm ready to go back to my Loki'd S4 and give this thing a factory reset. It's popped up 3 times just typing this message..... 4 now

I had location consent module for x posed and Google play store fixes module. I deleted both and so far no more pop ups.

Same here. Deleted the location consent module from xposed and all was good.
*If I have helped you please hit the thanks ?*
Apparently there was an update to Google Play Services from what I've been reading on Nexus forums and it hasn't played nice with certain apps...

That worked for me. I deleted that location concent module and haven't had a notification since.
Ever since the play services update on the 23rd, and including with all of the more recent updates, I continuously get play services has stopped errors and can not use google location services at all. These issues continue even after several factory wipes. After each wipe, the issue returns as soon as play services is updated and if for any reason the phone restarts, it gets stuck in a bootloop. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any tips that might help?

Have you used the LG Flash Tool to reflash the .TOT? If not I would try that. If there was some kind of system change you made the factory reset would only do so much. Such as when my build.prop got borked before it was known the build.prop for the G3 was too big to open on (most) mobile text editors a factory reset didn't help me and had to use the flash tool. Factory reset is the equivalent of wiping data and cache so if the error messages persist, and especially if your bootlooping, try the flash tool and .TOT.
I have actually been trying to use the flash tool to do just that, but can not seem to get the phone to go into download mode. Is it possible that only the cable that came with the phone will work for that? I have been trying using one that came with my old d2vzw.

I've actually had similar problems since Play Services updated, yesterday no matter what I tried to do I couldn't get the Play Store to connect. . and I tried all sorts of things trust me.
Only thing that fixed it for me was doing a factory reset, which obviously Sux but that's what did it. Hopefully you get it going!

Ok, so I think I've figured this out.
I'm on a T-Mobile note 3 running darthstalker 7,
I started getting this pop up about a week or 2 ago. Initially it would only happen upon enabling or disabling GPS.
Once I started trouble shooting it started happening much more frequently, and began to include a pop-up about location services.
I used titanium to roll back to a previous version of google play services and it seemed to stop. Then it auto updated and here come the pop ups.
I took a previous poster's advice and disabled the location confirmation module in xposed.
Then I restored an older version of google play services from titanium back up.
I let it auto update, upon update I got a notification [with the triangle exclamation point icon] about the service needing my permission.
Once I clicked the notification, yet another pop-up, but this one was different. It was Google play services asking for permission to allow apps access to my location. The interesting bit is that there was a check box for "do not ask me this again" which I checked.
Since I did this, no more force closes on Google play services or location.
Hoping someone else can confirm this works for them.
Hope this helps, hit thanks of it does.

Damn this happened to me too, I was trippin balls glad I'm not the only one
Hi,
Yesterday I suddenly started getting some 'Google Play services has stopped' messages but not too bad.
But now pretty much every Google app I open quickly crashes followed by the Google Play services crash.
I'm using CM12.1 with OpenGapps and have been for a while without any problems whatsoever.
Has there been a recent update to Google Play services or something that might problems?
Anyone know how to fix it?!
Cheers!
So it looks like I've fixed my problem with a full wipe and flash.
Still a bit strange since it happened out of the blue after using my phone without any issues for weeks...
At least it's back to normal now though.
