I tried to update my droid version from 4.0.4 (6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US) to the latest JB but now I'm currently stock with these in my phone's display:
Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.77
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0x0056)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore :crying:
Are you sure you came from ICS? If yes, please post the EXACT JB firmware Version you tried to flash.

Umm, i'm not sure what you mean with ICS, this is actually my first android phone. When it was still working, the android version was 4.0.4 (6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US).
This happened after I tried to follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467. I wanted to update it to JB, and then root it afterwards. But this already happened after doing option 2.
This is just a part of the process, when I followed what was instructed in that post I posted earlier. Im concern about the writing 'devtree'... INFOPreflash validation failure part what could have caused this?

Hi ezknives,
I've seen that post as well, the problem is I really am at a lost on how to do it myself. I am pretty much ignorant on Android phones.
Bump!
Research how to do an SBF. It will return you to some version of stock Moto android. Probably ICS. At least at that point you will have a working phone.

I tried looking into some tutorials about SBF, and a SBF file is needed. I don't have any clue where to get my hands on that.

I read about that but my question regarding that post is that the droid razr utility version, the fifth step in the instruction (5th - download and flash the XT912 fastboot file <-- Dont have any clue how to do this operation) and the line after the PLS READ which says "The only way to power up your phone is by entering BP TOOLS" <-- I also dont know or understand what this means. Sorry if I sound so hopeless and stupid asking all this.

Flashing fastboot files is done through RSDLite. Its the Motorola Firmware flashing tool which can flash SBF or Fastboot files to your device.
There are many guides for that process. Search it.
Since the process requires you to delete your CID (customer unique Id), The phone shows an error of missing CID. To bypass the error, you need to boot through recovery by entering into BP Tools. Google it and you'll have a better understanding. However this can be fixed using Boot Menu Manager but thats another story
Once you delete your CID, you cannot restore it if you haven't backed it up since CID is unique to every phone. However in order to flash a firmware other than your region you need to delete it as it cannot be done without deleting the CID.
There's no problem in asking. Feel free to clear all your doubts before beginning.

Thanks for clearing this up for me. I will then begin reading on these pointers you've mentioned and get back here if ever something comes up that I don't fully understand.

thx guys but the problem is i got adb and everything setup right, just that the token cant be correctly verified by my evo 3d...
Use fastboot. It'll work
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Download the fastboot drivers. Put the phone on fastboot usb. Put the unlock.bin in the right folder. Usually c:/android. Enter the command prompt on your computer and change it to the right directory then type
C:/android> fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
That should do the trick
Sent from my blazing fast 3d using xda premium
I know how you feel. I re-locked mine and now it wont even send the unlock_code.bin to unlocktoken...
Hopefully someone will be able to assist you better.

thx, i tried it ytd but yet still no luck...it doesn't S-OFF at the last step and there're many "daemon not starting" (error?)
I have HTC EVO 4G LTE with the 1.22.651.3 update. I'm trying to use the instructions here http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...s/192777-evo-4g-lte-1-22-651-3-root-easy.html as I haven't found a working method for this update at XDA.
When trying to use Regawmod boot unlocker and it fails when it gets to the part "retrieving unlock_code.bin" from HTCDEV stating that it's probably a problem with HTCDEV's website and no changes have been made. (I've used this method twice before with no problem with 1.22.651.1?)
Is it normal for HTCDEV to have problems a week at a time? f I can't get root I might as well give up and take the OTA updates.
Thanks!

Go here and do it manually. It's a known problem with the automated tool. He's working to fix it. If you looked at the last few posts in his thread you'll see many people are having the same problem.

Need to take my phone back to stock as I'm taking it into Best Buy for a swap (cracked screen). I'm running the latest OTA (I think) and running Beanstalk. I tried running VipeRuu but it fails

I'd like to get it completely back to stock, including S-ON with a clean bootloader. Any help?

Yeah, I do seem to remember them mentioning that the last time I stopped in.
Either way, I did figure out what my problem above was so I'm now back on stock.

Yes you can install the radio if on 4.2.2. I have attached the stock 4.2.2 files here for you guys. If I recall correctly the baseband controls GPS so yes an improvement can be made.

Thanks, very much appreciated and thanks for this upgrade Installed without issue.
I watched my network signal strength numbers for a few minutes before and after. It seems reception is very slightly better, at least for this one location I very briefly tested in. I didn't have a good way to tell if GPS is better or not.

Topsnake, just to let you know the link you posted for the 4.4 radios directs me to the 4.4.2 radios, I was able to get the stock 4.4 radios from your other thread, but I just wanted to let you know so you could update this thread.
im on 4.4 with unlocked bootloader can i flash it
I'm on latest 4.4.4 with locked bootloader and I was able to flash it.
I need this 4.2.2 radio... anyone still have it?
I've had my tablet for some time, and a couple months ago I decided to root the device using THIS method, which worked perfectly. That led me to doing a little more researching, and I found THIS THREAD which will allow me to install Android version 4.4 KitKat, which has several advantages. However, every time I tried following the instructions, I always had errors. When I ran this command
Code:
fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp_tf201t.blob
I received this
Code:
C:\adb>fastboot -i 0x0b05 flash recovery twrp_tf201t.blob
sending 'recovery' (7934 KB)...
OKAY [ 12.963s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: (InvalidState))
finished. total time: 15.591s
I googled that error and I found a thread that says i have to have my bootloader unlocked, but I am not exactly sure how to do that. I checked THIS THREAD out, and installed the app, and after I ran it, I had to agree to a disclosure, and after I agreed, it led me to a page that repeated the disclosure and there was nothing I could do, no links or buttons to press.
I feel like I've missed some very silly step along the way, as all the threads are full of people who had no issue. I feel confident enough to finish installing the custom ROM if I can get past this point. So, if anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

As it turns out, the font size on my tablet was set to Huge, and that made the words on the unlocking tool too large to see the buttons to actually unlock the device. I fixed the setting, successfully unlocked the device, and was able to properly install KitKat! Even though no one replied to this thread, I couldn't have done it without the help of all the people from this forum, so thank you all!
