[Q] No usim card - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

I just got this phone brand new a couple of days ago(P769 model). Everything seems to be working fine, except that sometimes when I try to send a text over wifi calling, I get an error message that says "No usim card". So far resetting the phone each time I get the message has fixed the problem and allowed me to text, but it seems like the type of thing that will only get worse and more frequent as time goes by on top of it being mildly annoying having to reset my phone every time this happens. Any ideas on how to fix? I tried swapping out my old sim card for a new one, but that didn't help.

Never heard about such error. USIM is simpy a SIM card supporting UMTS with no software emulation. Try emergency firmware recovery from LG PC Suite. It will wipe all your data so make a backup if needed.

Do I need to download a specific version of LG PC Suite for the 769. I couldn't find a link to it on LG's website. I tried downloading the version they had linked to the 765, but my phone would never connect with it. It would say it was connecting for about 30 seconds, and then it would say it failed.

You can use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344&highlight=lgmobile+support+tool
Or just download LGMobile Support Tool (p. 3 in above post), install msxml.msi than B2CAppSetup.exe, run it and connect the phone, upgrade recovery from options. I was recovering my phone this way after failed rooting of the device. BTW PC Suite should work with all p76x.

Stock ICS update gave me invalid sim card

I have 2 Galaxy notes that have been stock since day 1 with no modifications other than sim unlock via code. I waited patiently till the official ICS release came out to do my first ever phone update using Kies. After the update, 1 is running perfectly and the other has a notification stating that the sim card is not valid, contact customer care. I swapped sim cards and got the same error. Both Sim cards on other phone working properly.Restarting phone didn't resolve the problem. After a few seconds to minutes from time of reboot (in which phone recognizes network and I can make phone calls normally), the same error occurs sometimes with the code in place of the Service Provider name (63081)? I tried factory reset using phone menu and it wiped it clean but still same error. I tried reinstalling the ICS firmware/rom update provided via KIES and I'm still getting the same error.
I researched this plenty and noticed that others have had similar problems with sony phones after ICS update with no resolution.
Any suggestions?
is rooting possible yet to try another rom?
Can I go back to GB though I don't have a backup?
It sounds like a bad modem flash.
Why not make a nandroid of the good phone and restore it on the bad phone.
Thanks for your reply. I resolved it. Even though I had tried a different sim from the same company for a nother number and it hadn't worked, I still decided to make a new sim for my number and that seemed to resolve the problem. Still odd as to why ICS update would do that.

Xperia x10i Radio capability lost, How to Repair if possible

Hi
I believe that my phones radio capabilities may be disabled. I tried to root my phone but ended up flashing it with an ftf file and now i cant connect to my mobile network with my phone, Ive tried multiple simcards and flashing my phone a few times with different ftf files.
Everything else on my phone seems to be working fine except ability to connect to mobile network carrier.
I cant unlock the bootloader or use s1tools because it cant recognise the certificate or something like that, I can flash and root the phone though.
can i save my phone and how?
Hi
Today i flashed and rooted my unlocked xperia x10i with flashtool and the provided .ftf file, "X10_V1_BLRelock.ftf". Pretty much after that my phone had been reset and i couldn't connect to my mobile network.
During the initial setup after the flash, my phone asked me to "Please insert sim card and restart your phone", Now in the drop down bar is has a "No service, selecting network (yes optus) is unavailable). Originally with this phone and my x10a the other networks had a red circle indicating i couldn't access them however right now i can try to connect to all of them but fail. everytime i try to connect i get the message "Your simcard does not allow connection to this network". My APN list is blank but it has always been blank.
My simcard works in another phone, other simcards dont work in my phone. I tried flashing my phone again and rooting it again, with multiple ftf files. I was going to try installing another rom for jellybean, but i cant because my adb drivers are stuffed and ill figure that out later if need be.
I live in australia and the imei is fine, hasnt changed and im not even sure if that would effect the phone from functioning here. I have no idea is its affected the phones radio or frequencies if supposed to function on, help would be greatly appreciated.
I cant receive or make phone calls, texts messages, anything that relies upon me being connected to my carrier. everything else seems to work fine including my home internet. i also used that *#*#4636#*#* and that didnt really tell me anything i dont think.
Phone: Xperia x10i, unlocked
Running: android 2.3.3,
baseband version: 2.1.71
If you require any other information, ill post it up, not that sure what would be needed to figure this out.

[Z7 Mini] No service/emergency calls only after flashing custom 6.0.1. rom

So, I've had a lot of problems with my phone lately, including a semi-brick for a while. After all this mess, I had to do re-partition, fix WiFi and stuff like that.
Recently, my only problem was no service after inserting SIM card in CM12 (basic stock ROM using Nubia Tools, repartition using official 2.03 ROM from NeedRom & finally CM12 for Nubia Z7 Mini from NeedRom). SIM card was fine but there was no service, I've tried re-inserting it, I've tried different SIM cards etc.
The issue went like this: phone crashed and "turned off" after inserting SIM card. It wasn't really off - Windows was detecting it as several storage disks (?), and it was heating up after a while. Long press of a Power Button made it reboot to system and it was running fine, but only without SIM card. SIM card made it freeze, heat up and the issue was happening all over again.
Currently, I've tried to fix that by flashing latest Resurrection Remix. Now, phone is stuck at "emergency calls only" - it tries to find service but without any luck. I've read that it might be an issue with bootloader - that there is some script that is trying to run, making it unable for the SIM card to grab service. The phone is really heating up with SIM card in it, but it definitely detects it and it tries to find service without any luck.
Maybe flashing only modem would do? But I can't find it anywhere.
What can I do to fix it? IMEI numbers are fine, on their right place.

Samsung G355H Not registered on network after crashed update

Hello everyone, I'm a desperate noobie here trying to fix this issue for three days now.
So as stated above I have a Samsung Core Duo (SM-G335H) and three days ago I connected trough SmartSwitch and it offered to update my phone. I agreed and during the middle/second half of it my laptop and phone just crashed. I revived both and SmartSwitch told me about the update failure and I made an Emergency Recovery. After that recovery, at first, everything seemed to be working normally, but on the next day I noticed: "Not registered on network " error. It recognizes the SIM card, but when you try to find a network it says "Can't connect. Try later." and so on. I can't call, other peeps can't call me.
I have been researching this matter for days now and am very upset about this. Some say stuff like Odin/flashing/third party tools/settings, I don't know what to do, as I don't have much experience with those things.
Btw, my IMEI is not null, it is being displayed (so I guess the EPF folder is not damaged). The APN settings (I'm on T-mobile) are still there, I don't know what to fix about them.
I am running 4.4.2 KitKat and my Security Patch Level is dated 2016 if that is of any relevance...
I also did a hard reset: nothing. SIM card works in my other phone, so it's not damaged. I just now saw that the end symbols in my Baseband version and my Build number don't match. Could that be it? I've seen people recommending updating manually/flashing with a modem file. How do I go about this?
Also: my phone is rooted. Only that I very clumsily attempted it months ago and before this matter here I would have problems with binary updates and what not, "phone is not rooted completely", I already fixed that issue though, it has SuperSu on it.
Anyway, I may have messed up somewhere along the way leading to this problem.
Please don't recommend me reseting/rebooting the phone again or just re-inserting the SIM card, that doesn't fix it.
I welcome any other suggestions, I hope somebody can help me.

Verizon Voicemail issue on U1 flashed S9+ with Visible carrier

Hi all,
Alright so this is going to be a long post. So I recently flashed my phone to the U1 firmware, I currently have an unrooted Verizon Unlocked Samsung S9+. I wanted to switch phone carriers over to Visible (subsidiary of Verizon), here are the order of events that occurred:
1. Visible's website says that my device in not compatible using their IMEI checker, there is a solution that was found on reddit about flashing the device on the U1 firmware.
2. I flashed the device on the U1 firmware using Odin and the Visible SIM card worked as expected. No issues with the flash
3. Data/Texts etc.. are all working as expected. Except for Voicemail.
When I try to check my Voicemail, it is acting as if it's still on the Verizon Voicemail system. It says "Welcome to the message management system, please enter your mailbox number". No one can leave me a VM either because of this. I tried several different combinations of numbers, including my full 10 digit cell number and last 4, to which it says "XXX is not a valid mailbox number", which would be because my number is no longer active on Verizon, so it's unable to access it. Which makes sense. The Visible Customer Care team tried the following:
1. Provisioning my VM multiple times
2. Take out SIM card, turn phone off for 1 min, insert SIM card again, and toggle airplane mode for 30 seconds
3. Reset network settings
After numerous days of troubleshooting with them, eventually they said it was because my device isn't compatible, ok, I can't argue with that. I have not seen anyone else experiencing this issue that had flashed their phone to U1 firmware.
After trying all of this with them, I eventually factory reset my device, hoping that might do something. That still did not work.
My questions is, is there something I missed with flashing the U1 firmware? Why is it still using Verizon's VM system even though I flashed it to U1? Is there any way to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated, and please don't hesitate if you need any other information.

Please check your voice mail settings in your phone app. See my screenshots.
There you should select the correct service provider and the Visible mailbox number.
