So I ordered some screen protectors that claim they fit the transformer screen however they are slightly bigger leaving one side unable to stick properly because it protrudes slightly off the screen. I have read several other people say they have had the same problem. Cutting it with an exacto knife doesn't quite leave the edge smooth. Has anybody found one that actually fits the screen properly?
yep, fits perfectly
http://cgi.ebay.com/3PCS-Screen-Pro...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item45fb4bc3c2
i brought these and they are great. Went on super easy, no air bubbles. They are the kind that have the two tabs on them. you pull the back off then place on the screen, smooth out the air bubbles etc, then pull the top layer off with the other tab. They are great quality. I am happy with them

And does it fit perfect bezel to bezel? I purchased this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Lots-5-Clear-Sc...&otn=5&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=1556935545867845673 and extremely disappointed. Has the same 2 tabs, dimensions specified say same as yours however one edge is slightly too long. I have several devices that I have applied protectors to problem free so i know its not me. Just want to make sure it fits perfectly. Any chance you can upload pics? was looking at the clarivue. Thanks.

The Clarivue leaves a gap around all sides.
I appreciate the feedback. Anybody else with screen protector input or info?
I bought from a different auction the buy it now for 7.29....but it was sent from wowpartspro.... 3pcs also.... sure its the same screen protectors

Yes, seems they come from this wowparts. Does yours fit or is it slightly too large?
i did get your message. yes mine had the iPad pictured on the front of the package too, but the screen protectors honestly fit perfectly. Went on first try with no issues. Maybe you got a bad batch? I would definitely buy from them again

It's very odd. I purchased the 5 pack and tried 4 because I'm OCD and everyone too large. Cut outs for the camera line up perfectly but one side and one edge on the bottom are too long. I wonder if maybe the screen has changed slightly on the tablet... I read early versions had issues and maybe they changed something. I just purchased mine and has a serial number that begins with b6 which I read was from the later batches. Looks like I may have to spend extra on that clarivue that is cut slightly short. Too chicken to let the screen ride naked.

How about the one from bestskinsever?
I'm looking for a screen protector for my TF and checked at bestskinsever.com. I bought iPhone 3GS screen protector when it was on sale. As a satisfied customer I went back to the site and was glad that they are making protectors for TF.
Has anyone tried it so far? What is your feedback? Was it a perfect fit? Did it serve the purpose?
iPhone protector I bought had a few bubbles on Day 1 but disappeared the next day.
I'm unable to post the link...look under tablet section on their website.

Has anyone tried ghost armor?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
i have it on my prime.. it pretty good actually..
I have had Ghost Armor on all of my phones and intend to for my Prime because it's great stuff. I went to the Ghost Armor kiosk at the mall and didn't have it for the Prime. It's on the website so I'm sure I'll be able to order it. I just don't like doing it myself because I like the guarantee of having them re-do it if they get it wrong.

if you have the front and back protector on it will scratch.. i had the front and it scratch when i put it on.. but i figure out a way so it wont scratch the front now...you can see on the dock mount there is a long thin black pad (sticker) .. that what push against the screen and scratch it.. so i took it off and clean off all the glue with a q tip and alcohol...
So to clarify it scratches the screen protector, the carbon fiber, or the prime itself?
The screen protector. But the prime itself it untouched

I ordered it from the mall kiosk. They will install it when it comes in. I have GA on my mytouch 4G. Had it on since day one. It has a couple scratches but the back and front are in tact. Sides started to come off after over a year of going in and out of my pocket and 2 decent drops. But front and back held up better than I would have guessed. I still think I can peel off the GA and sell my mytouch in great condition on eBay. I'm sure there are other great solutions, might even have a little less "orange peel" factor or a fraction of a percent more translucency. But if you are lazy and want an excellent case, no bubbles, no worries... Do yourself a favor and hit up the kiosk.

sorry for all the questions but...i must ask another (maybe a few):
how hard is it to dock it with both on without those black stripes being removed?...and how is the back? is it like the ipad on with the corners cut so they dont bubble up b/c of the bend? or are there small strips that go along the edges?

Yeah, they offered to order it for me, but I just don't trust them to complete an order correctly. The kiosk nearest me has the highest employee turnover I've ever seen.
I honestly am not gonna install a screen protector it makes it look ugly and decreases the sensitivity of it....
Plus I will be docked 90% of the time anyways

Here is what I do not understand. Putting a screen protector on Gorilla Glass, sounds like overkill to me. My Inspire has it and it rolls around in my pocket with change/keys and not a single scratch, not even a tiny minor one on the phone. I scratch almost all of my phones in one way or another so this is fantastic. I never understood protectors because they make the screen look like junk (and the primes screen is FANTASTIC). And from what I've used, sometimes make it less responsive.
I guess why would you put a protector on it? Don't believe me about the scratch resistance, go look on their website, or come find me i'll take my key s to my phone and show you how good the gorilla glass is. Or maybe you're using the prime as a frisbee, and in that case nothing will help you . Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

I've only had one screen protector that was noticeable and ugly, it also effected the screen sensitivity, that was a anti glare/finger print which I got from Verizon. I've had several clear protectors since that you can't tell they are there, and they didn't have sensitivity issues.

Gorilla glass is overrated, I baby my phone and it has a lot of scratches. The only reason I didn't get a protector is because I went through 6 thunderbolts (doesn't have gorilla glass) and after the first three I quit using screen protectors and the screen never got a scratch, and I had the last one for 2 months. I thought if the t bolt screen was that good then gorilla glass would be better, not so, my bionic started getting scratched up within the first week.

I highly recommend an Invisishield. I love their products, given that my Epic 4G Touch has one. But needless to say, I was a little reluctant to have Geek Squad install one on my Prime, given that I purchased the unit for the original Transformer. We "ghetto rigged" it perfectly, and it came out really well! I am very pleased with how it looks! Give it a shot if you're anything like me... someone who needs instant gratification.

Well I have a screen protector that isn't compatible with the dock (AmorSuit Military Guard) I have tried putting it in the dock, and it goes in, with so difficulty, but the fabric pieces inside the dock are screwed up. If I peel off these fabric strips, would me prime for in the dock without having to take off the screen protector?

I had a similar problem
Carefully (And i DO mean carefully) remove the screws and pry open the dock, there are little clips that might break so you really gotta take your time and ease it open.
In the hinge assembly, under a silver sticker, there will be several screws holding the hinge assembly together
once you remove the bottom of the dock and the screws all holding it together you SHOULD be able to remove the part that holds the prime. On the FRONT bit i removed the fabric but also sanded down the plastic so it was completely flush (there is a plastic ridge that will mess up the protector otherwise)
Once you have it to your liking put it all back together. If you did it right the prime SHOULD fit nice with minimal wobble even with the "high quality" screen protectors or in my case, protectors on the front and back.
Remember, do at your own risk, YMMV, im not responsible, etc.
I just sanded down the fabric in the dock a bit

had this problem right three days ago. after applying a new screen protector (which covers the whole part of the screen, while the previous one not), it was very difficult to insert the prime in the dock. as i saw that the fabric strips were screwed up, i removed them with tweezers, but under them there was some glue which made again difficult to insert and remove the dock. so i spent my sunday morning in removing this glue with tweezers, water and my fingers (without opening the dock, in fact it was very difficult to do so, also because water on the pin is not such a good thing) and now there are no problems in inserting the dock, and no glue rests on my screen protector

Do you still have a snug fit after removing the fabric strips? I'm having the same problem (see thread I started a week or so ago), bit worry about the fit not being snug enough and having something in the dock connector (or, worse, the charging connector) get screwed up from the "wobble factor".

No more snugs, i 'washed' it very carefully. I used those things you use to wash your ears (i don't know how you call them in english ahah). They and hot water, paying attention, did their job. I actually have no problems with how the dock fit the tablet, i can insert and put it out without problems.

The only problem i found was the tiny ridge around where the fabric used to be ended up messing up my screen protector after a while, that's why i suggest filing it down.
And i call em Q-Tips, i know its a brand name like Kleenex, not sure what the generic name is... Ha! native English speaker and i don't even know the name for them, who knew?

Need help
i just dropped from my bed my Galaxy and the ultra mighty gorila glass cracked but the touch and the screen are fine, no leaks or whatever, i just need to know what i have to buy to fix this mess
i found the digitizer LCD Display and Touch Screen not included that cost $18 dollars
or the full lcd touch combo that cost $239 dollars
as i said the touch is 100% working and the lcd doesnt have any leaks
i have searched similar topics but the other cases have broke lcd
thanx in advance :good:
Just found this video, i think im going to buy only the glass, the other solution is to expensive with 239 dollars i can get a new s3 with my mobile plan
So sorry for your phone man. I guess since the touch still works you will only need the front glass. To be honest i'm looking forward to see the answer of your question, since i never understood properly how the digitizer and the front glass work. Always thought they were the same.
Seeing images like of your phone is the reason why i bought my UAG case.

What is it with Galaxy S3`s and so meny people dropping them and smashing there screens.
I have had my GS3 for quite a wile now and not a single drop or scratch.... are they really that slippery lol
You will need to buy them both. I have completed this repair numerous times for friends and family, and the digitizer will break close to 99% of the time.
I do consider myself very tedious and patient, but it is glued to the screen and there's a pretty slim chance of it coming off in one piece.
You can heat it up and try to get it as soft as possible, but it's super sticky.
Do yourself a favour and buy them both or else you're going to be waiting for a digitizer to come once you've started the repair process.
Hope this helps.

The newer supposed "thinner and stronger" Gorilla Glass thst is on S3 is nowhere near as scratch and crack resistant as the thicker original on phones like the OG Epic. This one can get those hairline scratches much easier thsn the original. Dont try the key scratch test on the S3. I will say this though, i have 2 i9300s. One new in box and the one i use has the back cover with the white flap that covers the screen. I dropped it 2x from 4 feet on concrete and only a slight scuff on the silver side bezel

Guys, for real, why does everyone think that gorilla glass is crack resistant? I mean, than bigger a screen gets than easier it can break, this is physics...
Gorilla glass more about to be scratch-resistant.
and in the case of OP I would buy a new screen and then be more careful with my phone. I just got a cheap silicon case and it protects my phone from everything without needing a screen protector.

I'd buy the digitizer for $18, worst case LCD breaks whilst separating and you'll need to buy the complete unit. Best case you fix it and save yourself $225 on complete unit.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
From my personal experience, i'd say you'd better buy the complete unit with the glass, the digitalizer and lcd pre-assembled on the frame. I've bougth a 2 week old GT-i9300 from a friend who had dropped it and had also the problem with the sim card blocked inside and just broke the sim card reader to take it out... As i said, i've managed to have it at a really good price and bought the lcd unit (samsung original on e-bay) and believe me, you will save yourself a lot of work as the gorilla glas is glued to the digitalizer witch is also part of the oled screen, witch makes it almost impossible to take the gorilla glass without breaking the rest, or, even if you manage to get it out, you'll never glue it again without any air trapped between the two... just look on ebay, i found mine for 163€.
I have the same problem as the OP. Dropped my SGS III couple of days ago and screen cracked though I still have 100% touch screen functionality. I am planning to get it fixed though have to say that incident has made me lose confidence in the sgs3. My sgs2 was such a solid piece of abuse taker. Over one year of use and dropping on concrete and worse on a number of occasion all without a scratch. Right now I am considering the HTC One X maybe it's using the old guerilla glass which seems more durable.

Hey there,
I use my nexus 9 tablet nearly every day for over a month now, but I only transport it in my sleeve.
Although I took grate care, I found this today:
The softtouch coating on the back is peeling on the corner, also a little bit on the Micro USB port.
Really HTC?
I will exchange it as soon as there is a dbrand skin for the nexus 9, so I can protect the new exchange device doing that.
Did anybody of you also experience this? Look at the charger port exactly.
See for yourself how bad it is on mine:
Nobody else has experienced this?
Do not know what you are talking about but I think it came with a plastic film, these I pull of when I receive my devices.
No, this is the soft touch, which actually is only a coating, as I discovered this way. Under this coating there is just plain plastic without matte touch.

+1 send it back.
Done.
I had two corners and USB port peel on mine. I returned it to amazon for replacement.

Is the replacement better? How long do you have it now?

I bought a case to go along with the new replacement to hopefully prevent it from happening again.

Thanks for your answer, I will wait with the exchange until dbrand releases it's nexus 9 skin, because I hate cases, the make the tablet bulky.

Should not happen nevertheless, seems they didn't stick the softtouch coating good enough.
I will exchange it in January, when the dbrand skin is hopefully finished and hope, that the new tablet is better.
For 480€ (~590$) I expect a near-perfect finish.
