To flash an official OTA update from AT&T would I need...
1) Stock Recovery
2) Re-locked Bootloader
3) Both
4) Something else.
I'm mostly waiting on a custom Sense 5 ROM...but I would like to know.

my experience on international X+ is that you only need stock recovery.
Don't flash an OTA with a custom rom. Even with stock recovery! your just asking for trouble. I'm also pretty sure you need a locked bootloader, to prevent the same security error you'd get trying to flash an RUU on an unlocked bootloader. But tbh i'm just speculating.

Hi -
I unlocked my bootloader last night and would like to flash the HTC stock rom to make it look like the non-carrier version. In other words, the same ROM if you were to buy the phone directly from HTC.
How can I go about doing that? I know how to root so that is not an issue.
Thanks.
Flash a stock rooted rom from tue international section

Im on the same boat, I have the Rogers HTC One, can I just simply grab the stock rom from the international HTC One version and flash it without problems?
I installed international rooted odex from ARHD thread on my AT&T phone without any issues. I'm back on stock rooted AT&T for now which I modified a little myself. I personally don't like how LTE on international tells you that you have 1 bar.
I'm sure AT&T modified their rom to show more than 1 just like other phones on AT&T. Everything works and you don't see any difference in reception or data speed though.

Im sorry why not install a RUU? I was actually thinking to install one of the stock versions of the rom ( I believe they are called RUU?)
It won't work without s-OFF

I believe CID is different on different phones and you won't be able to update that way. Only way is to use a stock rooted rom and flash through recovery.

I'm on 4.1.2 currently - Stock - But haven't received the OTA update yet. (My carrier hasn't pushed it yet, sounds like its still a month away)
Is it worth unlocking the bootloader, putting a custom recovery on and flashing a 4.2.2 rom? (Android Revolution as I want the stock experience) Just for the updates 4.2.2 brings?
I've used 4.2.2 on other phones I have (Xperia ZL Stock and Nexus 4 running PA 3.5) so I'm aware of what the stock upgrades are, but what does 4.2.2 bring to the HTC One over 4.1.2? Any improvements?
I want to try Android Revolution but have been hesitant on doing so - I have a Rogers Canada version of the HTC One LTE (Same as AT&T). Am I able to flash International roms like Android Revolution on my phone and maintain LTE?
I am S-ON, but I understand Most roms still use the Stock Kernel correct? So how would I go from 4.1.2 Stock rom to 4.2.2 Android Revolution as far as flashing? Do I need flash the boot.img first? (Doing it with S-ON is what I'm implying, yes I know there are S-OFF methods currently)
Update: I'm now S-OFF, Rooted, Unlocked Bootloader and on Stock 4.1.2 Rogers ROM.
NEW QUESTION
See Post #8
4.2 bring some improvements like native eqs and lockscreen widgets all you need to remember is 4.2 changes the file structure so it is best to backup and wipe before going to it all you need to do is follow the op for arhd and you will be alright
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
And you only need to flash the rom you don't need a boot.img at all

Thanks for the confidence haha.
I unlocked bootloader, Flashed CWM Touch and S-OFF'd using the Revone method.
I didn't realize S-Off was so easy.
Rooted as well.
I work very early (5am) so will try flashing rom tomorrow.
Is there anyway of upgrading the firmware from Rogers to the newest UL? Any help here would be appreciated.

I have read it over - but I am confused.
My CID is Roger001
What file do I use? Or is there one?

I think there's a file in the firmware you can edit but I just changed my cid to HTC__001 and changed it back afterwards

What about the one having Stock Rom (Not Rooted) ? My CID is Roger_001 and currently running 4.1. But I haven't received OTA on my Phone yet. Does this make any difference if the phone is being used in other country ?
I managed to unlock the bootloader and install a custom rom about 6 months ago
Think it was andriod revolution hd 6.5
I don't think I backed up the stock ROM?
Could someone explain if its possible to get the phone back to a out of the box state??
Thanks
Download and run the RUU for your device.
p.s. these type of things go in Q&A
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 4
Hello,
I've done that yesterday
First you need to flash a stock recovery, then install the ruu corresponding to your device. And you need to relocked the bootloader.
By this way, you will be able to get futur ota update.

unlocking the bootloader will start a whole new set of problems
the unlock process wipes your phone and deletes files need for the OTA to proceed without error.
did you try just flashing the OTA with stock recovery and see if it worked ?
No I am not asking about bootloader, I was asking whether s off is compulsory ,I am still on locked bootloader and stock recvry

HTC doesn't offer the update, AT&T push's it to your phone.
But if your out of the AT&T coverage area you never get the updates
