Edit: I have solved my problem.
I was able to Flash fastboot back to stock using RSD Lite.
I rooted using my original method and used Boot Menu Manager (Google Play Store) to install a custom ROM.
Worked like a charm!

The problem with this device is that it is almost impossible to find relevant information. The information that seems relevant may be outdated or wrong.
Here is my problem:
my xt910 is running stock 4.1.2 OTA Fido. I successful rooted using this method.
I attempted to install CWM Touch (here)
but due to a lapse in judgement I installed the APK and ignored the following warning in that thread.
"[Razr xt910 using Bootstrap BootMenu]
***do not install CWM Touch or uninstall hjack and BootMenu completly first.***
***If you install over BootMenu this cause black screen on Boot recovery***
***Boot Menu is advanced system of dual Boot and recovery***"
Then, when i loaded CWM, touching "backup/restore" didn't open up a different menu, I was stuck at the CWM main menu.
So I turned off the device, and booted it up normally to check things out. Then I get stuck in the "Encryption Unsuccessful" Boot Loop. I tried to boot into recovery and to no avail... I see the dead Android symbol.
I googled to figure out how to fix Encryption Unsuccessful, and saw a bunch of people mention RSD Lite and AP fastboot to fix Encryption Unsuccessful. I installed RSD Lite 5.7 and attempted to flash: 9.8.2O-124_SPUL-18_Fido_P006_A007_S1FF_CFC.xml (most recent I could find)
RSD Lite got hung up on step 14 "authentication" or some similar word). I rebooted the phone. Now my normal boot is stuck at "AP FastBoot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
I realized I was following out dated guides, and that the different versions/information were causing me a ****load of confusion, and leading me towards possibly permanently bricking the phone.
My current Boot Menu
Normal Power - Flash failure (as mentioned above)
Recovery - (Broken, as mentioned above
AP FastBoot - Functional (afaik)
BP SPF Flash - Functional (afaik)
BP Only - Motorola Logo after 5 mins
BP HW Diag and Boot AP - same as below.
BP Tools - Boots into android (all user data wiped - SD Card had to be reformatted)
If anyone could please help me sort out the BootLoop and install CWM. I want to get CWM running so I can install a custom ROM. This is my friends phone, and I am currently in a really tight position to get it to him... in working order.
I know a lot of you guys spend your free time helping idiots like me, and often expect nothing in return. I'd be more than happy to throw a few bucks, PayPal, towards anyone who wants it, and is able to take their time to solve my problem.
Thanks,

Im having this same problem, has anyone found a solution yet?

So I have a rooted, unlocked atrix 4g running nottachtrix 1.3.1 (which is based off of 2.3.6 and the 4.5.141 OTA). anyway, the phone worked fine for a couple of weeks after i bought it. SOOOO I bought a lapdock just to use for long car rides and stuff (big screen movies). after about three days with the lapdock the phone started acting up so I wiped dalvik/factory restore/wipe data and reflashed Nottachtrix. Then it would boot up to Motoblur registration and after 2 seconds, shut off. So I did the restore process again and now the phone will only boot to the M logo.
I can pull up the "fastboot" menu but it won't actually open those options. For example, if i choose android recovery, the phone will stay on the M logo and say "starting android recovery" but it won't ever get to the recovery. This applies for all the fastboot options and also for just booting up normally (just stays on the M logo forever).
I read somewhere ( i think it was here) that some people are having a similiar problem and it can be fixed by using RSD and flashing an sbf (would that be alright with my unlocked 4.5.141?) and the problem originates from a problem in the webtop partition (which makes sense considering my recent use of webtop). However, as I can't get into rsd can someone help me? has anyone else had this problem?
Sorry didn't mean to thank you. My hyper kitten did that.
one of the thread i read earlier about a problem similiar to mine, someone did the same thing (accidentally thank someone)
Needs to be a way to unthank. Lol. Hope you get your problem fixed.
bumpo
I would try flashing the 2.3.6 sbf using rsd lite. That would at least get you back to stock, and you could start over.
I also use nottachtrix and I have no troubles, so I do not think it is your problem.
After flashing, if that doesn't fix it for you, you are ready for warranty, and they are being very generous with replacement at the moment. But go straight to Motorola, not where you bought it. If you bought it used, don't offer that info, they don't even ask that question.
Good luck.
Have you tried going to fastboot mode directly while booting up. (Volume up)
I faced similar issue while flashing a rom (no dock though).
Deleted the data (fastboot -w), wiped the caches, and luckily it worked. Then I could go into recovery and flash another rom.
Sent from my Moto Atrix using Tapatalk
except i can't get into fastboot or rsd. it will show that option and say "starting Rsd protocol" but it won't actually start the rsd protocol (atleast my computer doesn't recognize it)
i can get into CWM recovery, though i have to turn it on, selecet android recovery, and then plug it into the lapdock.
DO NOT USE RSD UNLESS UR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
if u can get to recovery and fastboot then do this via fastboot.
All CRAP REMOVING
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase preinstall (not required)
fastboot -w (redundant, wipes userdata and cache)
and if possible reflash ur recovery too (might be the problem maker.
and then re-download ur favorite ROM and flash again.
I had such problems in gobstoper (bell stock) and this trick helped me a lot.
now i do this all the times.
There's a TL;DR at the end !
Hi - I hope you will be able to help me !
I have a XT910 Motorola Razr from Rogers in Canada.
I've had a Nexus S for a long time and I guess I wasn't prepared for a phone that wasn't as friendly to modding and flashing.
Before trying to flash a version of CM10 found here in the forums, I installed CWM Touch and made a nandroid backup - standard stuff.
What I didn't realize until it was too late is that booting into recovery DOES NOT boot CWM Touch - but rather the regular android one - the one that does not allow you to do much other than to factory reset.
I found out about RSD Lite but not until my battery wasn't charged enough and couldn't do anything about the phone.
I searched for the longest time on a LOT on different forums about how I could fix this and resorted to getting a factory cable - which works.
So, now, I can flash stuff using fastboot. Great, right ? Well, I still can't get things working.
RSD Lite doesn't detect my phone, and I believe that's because ADB doesn't detect it as well - so I tried that alternative way to flash fastboot files provided by the eternity project.
I've tried various fastboot packages but to no avail.
The best I can do is to get past the motorola logo - then black screen. Otherwise, I get boot or flash failures and get sent back to fastboot.
When the phone is on the black screen and that I plug a USB cable to my phone, Windows sees the device but it doesn't recognize it - I assure you I've tried all the different drivers to try and get it to work. Nothing.
Worth mentioning - I often get errors "Preflash validation failure" when trying to flash stuff.
I really feel I could fix this issue by flashing an IMG version of CWM touch or some other sort of recovery so that I can recover using a nandroid but they are no where to be found ! I can't believe that all recovery options are installed by APKs.
Any ideas ?
TL;DR, XT910 went boot looping after trying to flash CM10 - resorted to getting a factory cable and even then, can't get the phone back into working condition. Phone is detected by fastboot but not ADB.
Thanks !
first... the battery is the problem
this article can help...
How to Boot your Phone on Low Battery with Fastboot Flash Failure
To boot your phone on low battery where you get stuck on fastboot flash failure, hold down Volume Up and Volume Down then plug in “AC” USB charger to your Droid Razr. This will give you the bootloader menu upon where you can choose “Normal Recovery” to boot. If your phone doesn’t boot here, it will at least re-charge the battery normally instead of being stuck on fastboot flash failure which will re-charge your phone “very very slowly”.
So I was playing around with Jelly Bean on my RAZR MAXX and I believe I ended up soft bricking the device. I know that took all of 12 hrs. Anyways how can I fix this?
Edit: I went into the system files to install a different gallery app and eventually when I restarted my phone I got the "encryption unsuccessful" message and asked me to do a factory reset, let's just say that didn't go well it kept popping up, but I am able to get to the fastboot menu.
You're kind of in a pickle right now, then.
DON'T go trying this please, but I believe on ICS, you could fastboot back and have it fail, and then use the update.zip or something like that? I'd go ask Mattlgroff. He may be able to hook you up with an UnstuckJB type deal or something.
I'm pretty much stuck in flashboot
Thanks, all the screen says is:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
0A.74
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode- first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Last night I tried to flash ICS with RSD Lite but it failed when it tried to flash the boot.img (I know bad idea)
Any thoughts?

I had a softbrick boot loop.
Flast boot .211 ICS. Then go back into stock recovery. Attempt to install the update. It will fail with a status 7. Wipe cache and factory reset. Install the update again. Worked for me. Unfortunately you will lose root access. No knowing when we will be able to get it back as none of the current methods work.

See my issue is when I try to fast boot .211 ICS it fails at the boot image
I am going to make aflashable zip so you can use it on 2. system and don't loose the ability to downgrade.
Fixed (for the most part)
So I lost my root and for some reason every time I turn off the phone and restart it brings up the AP Fastboot menu, but I just choose the option to boot normally. Thanks for all the help everyone priddyma's method worked even though the .211 ICS boot image failed.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with the same error.
I am on Jellybean and was trying to downgrade by to ICS.
and I guess I corrupted the OS from what what I understand.
need some help getting out of this. Thanks in Advance.
I have already tried the following:
1. clear the cache.
2. full wipe and restore
EDIT: NVM all I had to do is select normal boot and it booted up normally.
EDIT2 : I can get past the error screen but whenever I reboot the error screen reappears.

connordoherty.blogspot.com/2013/03/xda-post-q-nexus-boot-shows-up-on-xt912.html
I recently got a secondhand Verizon Motorola Droid Razr XT912, intending to unlock it and use it with my t-mobile account. Coming from iPhone, I've never used android before so i took a few weeks to grow accustomed to the stock OS before rooting it. I learned it, and eventually, although it took several days, I also rooted it.
But today, when I attempt to boot the device, i see this glowing X logo, which my friend thinks might be the nexus logo (bootloader?), forever.
Never goes anywhere, just stays on X. I can only reboot it by holding power+volume down which makes it again boot to the X. I'm not sure if this is considered a boot loop - seeing as it doesn't actually loop, just hangs endlessly. It seems my only way of shutting the device off (power button does nothing) is to enter the boot selection menu (Vol up+down at startup) and choose the "AP fastboot" option and in that mode i can power down with a tap of the power button. all the other options bring me to the X, except recovery, an ill-android-logo-with-exclamation-point.
How did I get to this point? I tried to flash a ROM to replace the stock Motorola Android - trying first AOKP: First I backed up using myBackup, then I chose the link for "spyder" at the download list and followed a guide telling me to download this app and I did, but a different guide told me I would need CWM so i got that too. I didn't know how to add anything from within the app so i reboot to get too the boot menu, and chose the AOKP zip file - which worked for a bit but proceeded no further after "Booting...". I tried several times and messed around with the menu but I thought maybe I needed CWM so I chose that zip and it didn't work either.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? It sure seem like I bricked it. I discovered Recovery Mode has a hidden menu when you press the volume buttons, but choosing "install update from external storage (SD card)" then it fails as in valid for every zip I have tried. I thought maybe it needed to be signed or official so i downloaded what i found to be the stock update Blur_Version.6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip and that was accepted but eventually failed as well. The factory reset option there does nothing. I tried using the Fastboot method as well but it never finishes without stopping, on 6/18 or 2/18 or anything for a different reason each time.
What haven't I tried?
Help needed unbricking my phone (Android system recovery <3e> KTU84P.A3000ZHU1ANK4)
Hello!
Newbie on this forum. Hope you can help me.
The situation is as follows:
Samsung Galaxy ACE 4 (SM-G357FZ)
While trying to unblock the network on my phone, i tried to root it (saw somewhere that this was a necessary step to unlock it).
I used the steps in this link: https: //theunlockr.com /2015/09/06/ root-samsung-galaxy-ace-4/
(just remove the spaces)
Used ODIN 3.11 , not sure if was supposed to do that.
During the flashing process, the following error ocurred: "Recovery is NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING"
I tried to continue the process anyway.
I ended up with a phone that can't function properly. It doesn't start normally, instead goes to system recovery and displays "Android system recovery <3e> KTU84P.A3000ZHU1ANK4" along the other options.
I can execute a factory reset and phone will function fine (goes to normal screen, executes everything etc) but as soon as i turn it off, same thing happens again. It goes to Android system recovery automatically.
How can i recover it? And after that, if possible, how can i unlock the network lock and root it?
Thank you in advance
Same problem
I had the same phone for 7 months. and It also had the same problem. Well, the solution is simple. Just flash a new Stock ROM, and no problems whatsoever. And just root it. I did it myself. Works like a charm
