Hi everyone, I wonder if there is a way to install on any Android Phone the Motorola Moto X launcher, flashing a .zip file or throught an .apk.
Is there anyone that already extracted those files?
Thanks in advance

Yep, but I thought it wouldn't work, I was asking for a direct .apk. I'm gonna try this way, thanks a lot

I have the same request, please remember to change the PACKAGE NAME and SIGNATURE of the Launcher because just extracting the files won't work on all phones, you will have to change the launchers name to something other than the stock name which is ' Launcher', you can rename it anything and also don't forget to resign and change its signature(don't forget to 'resign' it). Also don't forget to keep it a .apk file......

I've downloaded a rolltube zip but it was impossible to install via CWM
Has anyone done it?
Pull the .apk from a ROM like Criskelo and use a file explorer to install or adb.

How should I launch the APK installer from the phone itself?, can I use root explorer and execute it?
I've downloaded my base and added the things I wanted in he rom like call record and 15 toggle etc also my 3uk modem and preferred kernel but I can't figure out how to package it all up. Everytime I zip it up it says bad when flashing in cwm? What am I doing wrong?

Use the zip from an already working rom and then make the changes in the updater-script..if you want i can send over my meta-inf folder

Yeah that would help. I've created my own update script but when I zip it all up how it should look compared to everyone else's rom it just fails when flashing saying bad.

To check out what is going wrong..after you have flashed either check recovery log under advanced settings or after booting go into cache/recovery and check last install log

Zoot1, Your META-INF consists of only the com folder.
Are the CERT.RSA, CERT.SF and MANIFEST.MF files neccesary?

Have you solved this issue?
Last time I had this same problem when flashing MIUI on Galaxy Note, it fried the motherboard and I just got it fixed.
All the best

Yes, you will need to sign the zip after you have packed it..this will generate those files..those are certifications.........

You're welcome!!
did you get the apk to install? and if so can you please tell me how? I've tried multiple methods and they all failed. "application not installed" is the message i get.
well, yes it worked fine for me
i installed it using rootbrowser. That means you have to copy the apk file to the system/app folder of your phone uind then set the permissions to rw-r-r!
you have to have a rooted phone!
good luck
Don't you have to have the odex file as well in order for it to work? Unless you have a deodexed system.

Guys,
I am running the sonic custom rom on an At&T galaxy s3. I am confused on where the bootanimation.zip goes. Some say system/media and then I saw a post that said it goes in the data/media folder
Anyway I replaced my original zip and the animation did not change on reboot and I have also tried a few apps in the play store.
Any ideas ?

You could extract it from your kdz. First kdz to bin and fls, then extract the bin to .img files. Grab the recovery.img and have fun
