I've installed hundreds of screen protectors in my life, DSLRs, phones, laptops, etc. and it takes 24 to 48 hours for the screen protector to fully settle. My suggestion would be to wait and see, if it doesn't get fixed by itself, means it's defective or there was something wrong at the installation.

Sony calls it "shatterproof film". Present on xperia Z, T, V, and several others, CMIIW. Some say the shatterproof film on XZU has improved on the oleophobic properties from the XZ's, which seems to be true, based on some videos in youtube, but hey, it's not glass and supposedly isn't as hard. So scratches beware.
And they say removing the film means removing your warranty

that's the barely there case from casemate,
could you maybe make some photo's with the phone in it?
Thnx...
and is it really ''barely there'' ?
Isn't there a sort of foil like screen protector, but then for the back. It's too late for my phone, already full of scratches, but I just want to know if those exist. Also, my front buttons are heavily worn out already, I can see the bronze color underneath...

Yes, its called ''Full body protector'' or ''invisible shield''
Ebay link in RS / Ebay link in $
But if you drop the phone or scratch against a wall or something else,
the protector will be so ugly so you will have to take it off....
@protocol11: nice, does it feels ''barely there'' ?
and how does it the case itself feels, does it have a silicone/rubber texture or something like that?
I mean it's not just plastic like the phone itself right?
I don't get the difference b/w silicon cases and these "barely there" cases.... Am i missing something?

{to all of you with button problems, you know you can buy the 3 buttons (and also the whole body)and replace them....?}
I am still doubting about
This one (€5, TPU)
Or this one (€10, Silicone)
I guess TPU is stronger but also thicker?
I bought this see-though black tpu case, it`s only £2.65, with free UK delivery and it works great.
Just need an nice anti-reflective screen protector now, any recommendations?

Should that scratch easily? I have had the phone less than a day and all I did was pull it out of my pocket and I have a couple scratches now. They don't seem to be coming off. Don't know why but it although it looks like its a protector it doesn't feel like one. I wonder if anyone has actually removed it?

I removed the pre installed protector on my x10 and Arc, I think it's the same thing. I just applied a new protetor directly on the glass.
I found the pre-installed protector made the screen feel very 'sticky' to touch and also attracted dust, dog hair etc like a magnet! Much better without it
I don't think my phone has a screenprotector.

Everyone phone sold in the Netherlands has one installed confirmed by Sony NL
Bought an Xperia S in Italy yesterday, and yes, there is one screen protector in the box, one on the display glass and one (with printed demo graphics on it, so it have to be removed) on top of the one installed on the display...
Great !
I saw it just in time, my girfriend was already managing how to stick the protector found in the box
Has anyone else noticed that the softkeys are not very responsive? If so does removing the screen protector help?
I'm starting to think that the screen protector is the cause..
I took mine off. I hate them, and yes, my home button is more responsive.

In the end I decided to remove the screen protector, the softkeys work every time now!
I don't see why I should slide my finger up from the transparent strip when there are keys made to be pressed..
I might put on the other screen protector that was in the box, cutting the bottom part so it doesn't cover the softkeys
Mm.. How did you all remove it safely? I am honestly a little bit afraid... Where I should start to pick it off?
I never have to remove one by myself before...
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Start at any of the corners and use your nails, or the plastic bubble remover from the other screen protector, it takes a while as it's really stuck on well!
I quite like the fact that the soft keys are a bit unresponsive, saves me accidentally hitting the home key when sliding up the notification panel!

Screen protector
I sent an e-mail to the Sony helpdesk to ask whether this is a screen protector or not.
This is the answer i got from them:
"With regards to your enquiry, I inform you that the Xperia S has a preinstalled protective layer that should not be removed."
See here as well:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/175211
comment from xperia support staff:
The phone comes with a shatter proof sheet attached on scratch-resistant glass.
So, the screen protector that comes pre-attached is meant to keep the display from shattering if e.g. dropped. It also protects against other damages to a small extent. This sheet is however not scratch-resistant (the display is though).
You can remove this protection if you want to but I suggest you keep it on. If you remove it you should attach a new one to keep the display protected.
I should also point out that "scratch-resistant" is not the same as "scratch-proof". If you put all your body weight on a sharp object and swipe it over the screen, you will most likely get a scratch so you should still be careful.
I keep my phone in my front jeans pocket with nothing else but the phone in it. Keys, coins etc will damage the phone sooner or later.

Okey, I join the club with cracked screen! Today I was wathing a movie with my girlfriend and one other friend, and the phone (white one) was laying in the middle of the table when all of us heard a little snap, I watched my phone and the screen cracked from the "return" button to nearly end of the screen! No one even touched the phone when that happened, and the screen wasn't on! It just snapped by itself. Going to call the place where I bought it as the first thing in the morning and ask who is responsible for that!
Any ideas about how to get rid of the LG Logo from the front face of the phone?
May be a screen protector with the logo area blackened :good:. Why aren't such screen protectors produced/popular?

Well somebody get a kickstarter going...he's onto something!
While the branding never really bothered me either, if I could get a screen protector that "cleaned" it up, I probably would.
I'd rather have the LG logo on the front than the AT&T one like my GS2 has...

I am guessing even though most of us may be OK with the logo, we would still love it if it was possible to hide it (or even suppress it) under a screen.
No, not really..
No shame.
Personally I'd love it, but I'd just rather not use a screen protector though. No shame about LG though.

It is not about shame. I have said it before. It is not about the logo being that of LG. It is just that I feel any branding on the face whatsoever, takes away a big chunk of the coolness.

I've had the phone since April 1st and I've been very happy with it, however i just noticed that my camera's cover in the back is already scratched in two places. I have had a case on the phone since day one and I've been very careful with the phone... I'm very disappointed and annoyed that this got scratched up so easily! Has anyone had this happen to them or tested it in a review? Otherwise I like the phone, just seems like very cheap material in the back.
Is there any protector that i can buy to cover the camera that will not effect image quality?
Just found this thread while searching about the scratching, as I just saw scratches on my LED on the rear. I really don't have scratches on the camera lenses themselves, but I see it on the LED. At first I thought it was a piece of forgotten plastic covering, but after carefully picking at the edge of it with a razor blade, it wasn't coming off.
Not sure about some sort of cover for it other than a universal, cut-it-yourself screen protector. Just cut it to fit and install it?
You can get circle glass protector which covers just the lens, I actually have these, or you can get some PET ones that covers the whole camera area.

Any issues now with the scratches?
I wonder if it will have any negative affects on the focusing aspect for the camera as I believe the laser focus is there?

I don't find this problem with my G5. Strange....
I changed the lense on my g3 numerous times due to scratching easily, buy them on eBay real cheap, some oem, some not. I'm not seeing parts for the g5 yet and the lense doesn't appear to be changed out as easily as previous LG phones.
sent from my g5

I'm sure you won't be able to get the glass protector, it's only available in china, and no where else, but for the PET one, search for nillkin.

my G5 with lens protector.
Unfortunately my G5 is starting to show tiny scratches on the lens glass. Its only a week old too.
Cant seem to find any protectors for the lense on nillkin.com or Ebay. If anyone knows of any that can be purchased internationally, would be much appreciated

sorry, forgot to mention, in China they sell the protector version and package version, only the full package version comes with the lens protector, I think the one sold on eBay is the full package version, the last time I seen, the seller had in the description, it comes with protector. just read the information on nillkin official site.

I went with this one off the Australian EBay site:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141966665617
The seller confirmed they all come with a plastic lens protector.
Guys, start using Aliexpress. I stopped using eBay when I first tried AliExpress..few years ago. And I order weekly.
Anyway, haven't tried them but I think I will:
http://s.aliexpress.com/iQ3yYFNj
Just 4.7$ for 3 pieces if you order from the mobile app.

Those are useless, they don't stay on, if you are using them for the G2, G3, G4 or the V10, they work well, but not the G5, otherwise I would of used them.

How do you know? Never had issues with tempered glass. How do you know it wont stick? Also..if it doesnt work you can always open a dispute and get your money back.
