Automatic default keyboard change after restart - HTC Desire X

Hi,
I have SwiftKey keyboard installed. Every time I restart the device it resets to another language keyboard and I need to visit the settings to get it back.
Also even when I switched off the vibration, vibration never quits.
Any solution?
Many thanks in advance.

If you are rooted then uninstall/freeze all other Keyboards like Vietnamese keyboards.

I also use SwiftKey keyboard never such issue but here is what I did
Goto Settings>apps>all apps> scroll down to find Indian keyboard or HTC Indian IME and tap on it and tap on disable so only sense input is on
As for vibration go to settings click on HTC sense input and in options uncheck vibration feedback and then go to SwiftKey app setting and go into haptic feedback and disable it and it should not be an issue
You might have probably done this but still go to settings turn SwiftKey as on after that go into the app and it will get you to a default input option select SwiftKey you should be good to go (although all this is done first thing when you install the app and tap on it in the app drawer)

How to remove vibration on dial pad?

Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.

I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

Disable keyboard vibrate

Can anyone tell me how to disable the vibrate you get when pressing a key . It seems like such a waste of battery and I cant find the setting anywhere.
Thanks

Each keyboard has its own settings menu. On the 351 ROM, you have two: Swype and the Android Keyboard. Each has a "Vibrate on Keypress" option.
Thanks I disabled it in the swype keyboard and it's sorted. For some reason I can't get into the android keyboard settings, it just crashes. Is this a bug on the latest streakdroid (stable)?
I'm still getting a vibrate for the buttons. Is it possible to disable it for those also?
Settings>Sound Settings.
Scroll down to "Haptic Feedback" and uncheck.
I don't use Streakdroid, so I can't say for certain what's going on there. The default keyboard may have been removed and the Swype keyboard left in.
Sorted thanks

Possibility to mix IMEs?

Hi devs,
Is there any possibility to mix up 2 different Input methods?
I like to use the android default or some similar qwerty-keyboard for "on screen typing", but if i slide out the hardware keyboard i want to use the SE IME.
So i have to change the IME by pressing text input field manually, every time i wish to use the hardware or reverse.
So my simple question is it possible to mix up IMEs or any other chance to get this managed automatically?

It should be logically possible to attach a task of switching the input method when the event of keyboard out/screen rotation takes place.
But then again if someone did it it'll be an app that would charge, because it'll be a lot of work for coding and making a ui for it.
Guess you should stick to your fingers for now!
XDA ♥
it is really hard to mix but possible i try and post when it works^^
but its hard
It's been a while since I tried it, but i think i remember there being an app available in market called Keyboard Manager (requiring root access) that allowed this. It needs to run on boot and automatically switches the IME based on keyboard state.
Edit: I was wrong in thinking it read keyboard state, it read rotation sensor state.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ne0fhykLabs.android.utility.kmLauncher
yeah this app is very cool and fits my needs.
As predicted it IS a paid app
Tested, works absolutely great!
Even my device is set up to ignore orientation by rotation sensor, "keyboard manager" seems to recognise the keyboard slide out and changes the IME automatically.
Now I use swiftkey x beta for onscreen and SE IME for keyboard typing...
Thanks a lot!

[Q] How do I turn off 100% of all Haptic Feeback and or Vibrate?

I do not want any haptic feedback, vibration, or my phone to ever vibrate from pressing a button on my phone. I cant find where to turn off 100% of this very annoying battery wasting feature.
Might someone please advise as to how i can do this?

I believe you can remove the vibration from the Settings - Sound - Vibrate Feedback option.
Now the keyboard is tricky, I install Thumb Keyboard 4 which allows me to remove sounds and vibrations of the key press, don't know about the stock keyboard. Yet I still recommend Thumb Keyboard 4

Keyboard has it's own setting under language and keyboards. Then you go to your specific keyboard.
I am also not sure if apps can override the global vibrate setting or not but most apps like calendar, gmail etc have their own vibrate setting you can turn off if one of them somehow skirts through the global setting.

Unable to enable multiple languages in Samsung keyboard

Has anyone been able to enable a second language in the Samsung keyboard? I was able to add a second language by
going to "language and input"
Click the cog wheel next to the Samsung keyboard
Click "+ select input languages"
Select the check box next to an another language
Back
However, I do not see the arrows on the space bar to switch languages. This works fine on my wife's note 3.

Bumping.
Is this working for everyone else? Can anyone try enabling a second language on the samsung keyboard and switching by swiping the space bar?
Thanks for trying.

Same problem here on the international version. For some strange reason word prediction does show two languages even though spacebar says English. Anyway that works more or less although I prefer a single language. Hope Samsung fixes this.
Works for me

Yup, I don't have the arrows on the specebar, while I did select both English and Dutch. Unfortunately resetting doesn't help and have yet to find the process to empty cache and clearing data.
Update: found the Keyboard process and emptied cache and cleared data...to no avail. I think it stores language settings somewhere else since Dutch appears back in the samsung keyboard language list immediately after opening the cockwheel button.

As a workaround, and if you want to keep Samsung keyboard, rather than adding a second language to it, try installing a completely new keyboard with Dutch as a default language (any stable keyboard app will do). The switch between keyboards will appear in the phone's notification area, instead of Samsung keyboard's space bar.
I actually prefer it this way: the space bar thingy is finicky, and the notification area's one is super clean and easy.
Thanks, that's one way at least partially getting around the issue. There are plenty good alternative keyboards available, however I like the extra row with numerical keys Samsung offers. For me a real time saver.
Since the problem doesn't occur with all S5's I assume there is rogue app causing this problem in the first place.

while I had the keyboard open I pressed and held the key with the settings icon on it (lower left side) and then selected settings again - once I did this - I saw a screen saying new languages were avaiablle - I selected several - went back to the keyboard and saw "English" in the spacebar - when I pressed and held the space bar, I could scroll right or left to choose from any of the languages I had selected.
I think it allowed me to select up to 5 or so - but I may be wrong and there might not be a limit - I didn't go that far into it - I personally only need english - I was just trying to see if I could figure it out -
hope this helps.
