I have a Galaxy S2 T989 that I have rooted and have been trying different roms. Yesterday I reflashed it back to T-mobile 4.1.2 and after I changed my battery and rebooted it got hung up. I did a hard restart and the screen display darkened a few shades. Now my display is not as bright as it used to be. What happened? What can I do? Brightness is up as high as possible, auto brightness is off, and auto tone is off.
Wrong forum buddy.

Hi guys, just got a S2 2 days ago, last night i was playing on it, all of a sudden the screen went green/blue it look like it lost Red channel or the blue channel color in the screen, but i lock the screen and unlocked it and its back to normal and hasnt happened again
just wonder if this has happened to anyone before and how i should go about it
running Stock KE7
thanks
It`s a new one on me, if it happens again get it replaced.
Got that once while checking my phone after a shower. (kept it outside of the shower cabin of course). Turning off and on made it all trippy. I think it's nothing. Just a bug in the "adjust screen to what is displayed to save battery" thing.

I am using a galaxy s2 GT-I9100
Last night I decided to go back to the original ROM. When i turned on my phone and got to the "desktop", i found that the colors were faded into an unnatural white and that the banding from darker images was terrible (might be due to the fact that the screen is lighter).
I have tied changing the Colour/Screen Profiles, i have tried reflashing to the original ROM and also to the one i was using before. Nothing works.
What bothers me is the following: before doing any of this (when the phone was working fine) i made a back up. Now, when i restore that back up, the weird white and banding dont go away...
Can anyone please help me?
i am about to panic! please help!! :'(
Could it be hardware? :/
I am noticing a decrease in performance aswell....
sniff....
I have gone from my first amoled screen phone a galaxy s2 to s3, I gave my wife the s2 so I can hold the two sides by side and wave the phones side to side while holding my eyes still and I clearly notice the s2 screen drawing a solid light while the s3 looks like the screen is turning on and off at a very high speed, like if your using an old crt with 60hz.
Anyone else noticed this?
I imagine because generally speaking its not noticeable most of the time unless shake your eyes or shake the phone its a battery saving feature.
If power saving mode is active on your S3: turn it off
Custom rom, not using Samsung firmware. I have looked at my work mates s3 and it has this crt like flicker to, he has stock rom... And he won't let me root and custom rom his phone lol.
Chercked my S3 to see if it did this and it doesn't, no flicker at all but I don't have any motion settings turned on apart from rotate and no battery saving modes, maybe one of them is causing it.
As for what you cna do with your eyes, holding them and shaking them, now that's cool.
sorry for the bump...
But Im having this issue too. Its my 2nd s3 (first one had a yellow tint to it and I couldnt ignore it once I saw it) and my screen also flickers just like an old CRT at 60hz. The one with the yellow tint didnt seem to have this problem but I wasnt sure if it was how the screen was supposed to look when fully functional or if my eyes were going (pushing 30 lol).
Ive tried a factory reset. Ive tried checking Force GPU Rendering in 2D option. Ive tried a custom kernel and ROM. Im not sure what else to try!
I have the same issue with my galaxy note 2. But I don't find any solution to solve that yet
Hi.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 and I love it.
However until today i had never encountered this "problem" in my phone.
My friend has a Galaxy S2 too, and today while I was helping him something with his phone, I noticed his screen brightness was higher.
We both have Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXLS8 running.
I also checked in the Settings under Display, and we both were on Dynamic Screen Mode and on full brightness. Auto brightness was off too.
just for the sake of it I also checked if the Power Saving feature was off, and it was OFF at both phones.
i typed the *#0*# and compared the colors of both phones and his phone clearly was brighter.
Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures of both phones or even do a video, but I hope I will do it soon, depending on the responses i get from you.
Any help would be appreciated.
BUMP: Just in case.
I think it's allowed to bump after 24 hours of inactivity. If not, than Im sorry.
Are there a screen related application or some custom kernel tweaks active ? Fox example with "Screen Adjuster" app you can change the 100% level (notificartion area slider) to be something else in real life.
There are no tweaks on either phone.
just for the sake of it I installed the Screen Adjuster app to see if my screen brightness was actually set to 100% and it was. But still his screen brightness remains brighter.
I hope u r not using any privacy or matt finish screen guard ?

Maybe you both can email Samsung and bore them with this story.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz
There are two possible explanations to this:
1) Not every device is the same because the factory has several versions for their parts and the part will work the same, but there are subtle dufferences in performance. This is called "part revision".
2) Did you or your friend replaced the display on the phone? The service center could have installed non-Samsung OEM display that performs differently than the genuine one. Not speaking about OEM fake gorilla glass....

my 4 month old S3 has started behaving strangely. The brightness automatically becomes so low that screen is unreadable even when in recovery. even after increasing to full brightness it is very difficult to read. the screen has a strange coloured hue. For a few minutes brightness becomes normal n then again goes south. Phone is rooted since the day i got it . No problems earlier. Tried changing roms, kernels no improvement. currently on XXEMC3!!! Is the screen damaged???? any advice. thanks.:crying::crying:
You need a service centre possible buy a new screen / digitiser if so see DIY posts on XDA .
